Theresa dear can you look at your Calendar and see if there should be a novena coming up that we should do? If there isn't Let's go back and do one to st Martha
Actually a nice thing that may help future Catholic BC members is developing a tract of Novenas, I can alter the prayer thread that offers an example of a novenas.that are specific to our needs and times.

I WILL PERIODCALLY, POST THIS.THERE IS A TIME TO MOVE ON. THERE IS A TIME TO SAY I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THINKING CANCER, BEING INVOLVED WITH CANCER.
OTHERWISE, YOU CAN'T GET YOUR MIND OFF OF IT. IF YOU ARE BEYOND THE WORST OF WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH AND WANT TO STAY TO HELP OTHERS, PLEASE, MAKE SURE IT'S TO HELP AND NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT MOVING ON.

This thread is about being prepared------------and will continue to be so, but add to your list about ending it.
There will come a time that you will no longer need BCO. It is different for each person. Some need to stay here b/c no one in their life gets what they have experienced.
Others need to stay b/c they have developed friendships, that are beyond dissolution, by leaving.
Others want to stay b/c they love helping others
Why we stay or why we leave, is to each our own, we love when we are here and remember when we our gone
But always , remember you are valued, and your return is received joyously, because you live.

Thank you for your prayers. Gloria's daughter called me Tuesday to let me know that she had passed away peacefully on Monday. Her funeral was this morning. It was very beautiful but very sad. My daughters are handling it well but it has been very upsetting for them. God bless her...may she rest in peace.
Frank, it's so good to hear from you. Great news that the Herceptin is working for you. Long may it continue. So glad to hear your daughter has been able to find a permanent position, even if it is away from home. I'm doing well after my radiation treatments, thank you. In the last week, I finally feel more like my old self. I asked the doctor when I should be going back to work and it looks like it will be sometime in April.
Lovemyfamilysomuch, so sorry to hear you're feeling down. I pray you will feel better soon.0 -
lmfsm,
praying for you during this difficult time. stay strong! ♥

lovingmyfamilysomuch - I listen and or sing that song everyday. It is a powerful reminder of where we need to turn, and trust me I need reminding everyday. I am so stressed out at work, I don't know what will happen, I need to leave and find something else....but I am in a job that I can't train someone on what I do in a couple of weeks....so I feel that I would be letting so many people down, yet my health is in the toilet right now, my neuropathy is getting worse....etc. I need to de-stress, but keep my health insurance and afford my bills....same thing we all go through.
Then I listen to Kari Jobe sing that song.....ah, Here, that's where I need to be.
Hugs and kisses back at you.
Michelle praying for Gloria and her family, I have long sung the song Take Lord, Receive by John Foley. Until today I never knew what it was, St, Ignatius prayer for discernment. I get it now, and needed that today. I sing it at funerals....I think it is so fitting for the beautiful souls leaving us.

LMFSM-------I know from our previous PM's you are a strong person. This depression stuff is a shock to what you know was normal. Been there, doing it. Spent my life be the strong one. Now not. Do what you can forget the rest. Fix your life , so, you don't have to be much involved unless you want to be. If you need a "bed" day take. Cut up all the credit cards, except two----one for everything and one for medical(makes tax time easier). Do on line banking with EFT transfers to utilities, Even the lawn guy and pool person. I check my banking once a day to make sure there is no fraud----caught one last week. Immediately had card cancelled and police report made.
Mail---only open once a week, unless it's a bill then they get put in a pile to all (few) be answered one at at time.
Food--shop once a week or every other week, Learned to love beans-----eat em cold or hot., screw cooking. keep sugar free Popsicles. 3-4 mic dinners in freezer.
Social------try ro go out to dinner at least once a week. Get a designated driver so you can have a drink if you want.
Phone------develop a phone list of people that will listen when ever you call , I'll PM mine.
Counseling---though(tuff) one. You need counseling -----try cancer center or friends for referrals.
Prayer----try and pray. Not every night, but definitely the worst nights I sleep with my rosary around my neck b/c I most often fall asleep before done.
Church try once a week, sit in a different place each time and introduce your self at the peace exchange, pretty soon you will have lots of people to say hello to
Work---no suggestions---disabled
Lmfsm--------it all just sucks. Do you have a pet? Can you take care of one? Can you volunteer at the local shelter on the weekend---------SIL does this now b/c her kids moved away and family died. She has so much fun with it, even established a thing about writing little notes for each animal she was playing with that's posted on the cages.
so sorry sweetie , I get your losses only to well sheila

Lmfsm------the one thing I forgot to suggest dear one is exercise--------i'm an old EMS person. After disasters people go in an analyze things. What they found out about several early disasters of the early 80's was that if they got them(responders) involved in strenuous activity within the first 24 hours after the disaster they wouldn't loose them. --------those that refused, many withdrew from the system within 6-12 months. They were lost to the life that they believed in.
Your words say the same. Your name Lmfsm, say the same. Now your family is broken, b/c of BC . Your heart and mind are wheeling. Crying and the primal scream are probably part of it.
Dear one , I still have bed days and anger days, but when all is the worst my rosary gets me through it. Please, take your rosary and have it be a part of your being.
I have know idea why we have been given this trial, but continue your belief in GOD and MARY. I know your beliefs , they are the same as mine. But we never talked of the Rosary. Exercise and the Rosary will help. Exercise will help work off the anger off your loss. The Rosary will calm your mind. Please, Lmfsm. Consider both.----------Namaste-I Salute the God within You. sheila

Theresa what would you suggest as a novena right now? So many are in need right now.
It's 5;12 am I'm going to start a rosary with you all in mind. My twin is in serious trouble right now if you could keep her in your prayers. L&H's Namaste

Good call SAS. My sister and I always say the Rosary when we're taking off and landing on planes.
The suggestions you made earlier seem like good and sound ones.
Blessings for your Twin and You too.

Sas, remember I am a twin also--blessings on your twin--2:30 today we will bring our beloved Golden Retriever Abbey to the vet to put her down. We are so sad, but we know it is best for her. What a great dog she has been. I remember what sweet little puppy she was. Please think of our family. Thank you to my beautiful bc sisters and Frank. xo

Good Sunday Morning Sweet Sisters
I apologize for my long absence but really needed a break from boards, I am back just to check in with all of you and maybe help with a Novena as I have coordinated before. I am happy to post one here if all are wanting to participate.
My Favorite is the Miraculous Medal of Mary and it is nind days if you would like to particpate let me know and I will post each day and we can offer up our intentions.
I finally had my reconstruction of reconstruction surgery and it was a horrible recovery getting an infection and the flu while recovering. I HATE SURGERY.
But good news ladies and definitely a result of our prayers here is that My Husband found a great job very specific to the prayers here. We prayed for him to find a job "that nourishes his soul, and his families."
He got the most unique job and is so happy there, he loves the people they are all Catholic or Christian and base all their sales prinipals, meetings etc around christian teachings and values. In my Husband's and I's 20 years of sales experience we have never seen a company that operates from this type of strategy and it can only be divinely guided. So I am here to give testimony to the power of prayer. Also my oldest son who we were praying for just got word of his acceptance into the top Jesuit HS in the Region. Not only did he get in but he got in with honors (top 5 %) of his new class. PRAYER WORKS LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still struggle with the stress of having HAD bc anxiety etc but am really working on the letting go hence not being on the site as much.
I pray that all of you beautiful ladies and GENT are doing well.
Michelle

Hello Sisters
Today is an aniversary for me. 4 years ago today at about 7 00 in the evening, a doctor said those dreaded words to me " I have confirmed that the tumour in your stomach is cancerous. You have cancer" Well it's 4 years later and I'm not intending to go anywhere associated with eternity in the near future. (They breed them tough in Belfast LOL)
I believe 3 things have helped me to get to today:-
1/ Early diagnosis - it's was totally by accident - or more likely it was the grace of God - that it was caught early.
2/ Timely intervention by the medical people coupled with incredible support of certain family and friends
3/ Prayer and in particular the prayers of others who prayed for me and thought about me.
So may I ask that you join me in a prayer of thanksgiving for a successful battle against the stomach cancer and for the gift of Herceptin which has enabled myself and the Oncology team to fight the metastasised liver cancer to a standstill.
Keep up the prayers sisters and take care.
Frank

Okay , there is some discussion of scars. My Ps left me with outrageous scars. I had a partial colon resection ten years ago. Reason , put on Celebrex and should not have been. BUT I got an infection. Hope you can follow this ------It started b/c they put betadine ointment on my triple lumen catheter site. Within in about 6 hours I developed a contact dermatitis, beyond the dermatitis area , i developed a streptococcal infection, that infected the abdominal incision.
What appears on my body now is a cross. The incision scarring from the mastectomies and the abdominal incision. It looks like a cross. What's odd to me is I had a c-section and a abdominal hysterectomy. and you can't see those scars. So why the cross.

Frank, thanks be to God!! Wishing you many, many more years!
I went to an amazing Lenten retreat last night and today at our church. It was so refreshing. Lots of fabulous music and inspirational talks mixed in with the traditional stuff (Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Mass, Confession, Benediction). And some great food and fellowship thrown in for good measure! LOL I'm so glad I took the time to go.

Frank..fantastic!!!!! and many many many more to follow.. God Bless you!

Good morning, all. I have a family vacation planned to Orlando next month. We are orthodox Roman Catholic and find that many Catholic Churches are a little too liberal. Can anyone recommend a church in Orlando? I like the Basilica (Mary, Queen of the Universe) but find that the acoustics make it difficult to hear the priest. Thanks for any advice you can throw at me. Peace be with you.
