    Good evening sisters and Frank!

I've been away for no good reason... except maybe tiredness at the end of the day.  The computer situation we have in the condo isn't comfortable for sitting very long, and at the house it's our SIL's computer and I don't want to use it very long.  But I think of you all the time.  So much for that.

So happy to get your ping Sheila!  A novena would be nice.  I'm happy to see all the familiar "faces" here and some new faces to me.  God is good.

I am mentoring a woman via phone about my age who lives in NYC who has a similar diagnosis as I did.  Just "reliving" the experience through someone else is very humbling.  Three years ago, this time of year, I was just beginning with the mammo/biopsy/diagnosis nightmare, then surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.  Poor soul is going through the same thing.  When she finished chemo, she called me and was so thrilled!  I rememeber the same feeling!  There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and God's grace is there if we just ask.

Prayers for those still suffering from Sandy and the after-shock storm.

    Pax et bonum!

    Theresa

God bless our Veterans today along with their families! They sacrifice so much for our continued freedom.

Today is the feast day of St Martin of Tours, bishop who died when he was 81 in 397! That was a very long life back then! "Happy this man who did not deceive, nor judge, nor condemn anyone. He spoke only of Christ, of his peace and his mercy."

I love visiting this forum - it's so nice to know that others with my beliefs have gone through this.  So many people in my support group, in other forums, etc....  don't share my faith, and I miss that it doesn't get talked about.  With out my Catholic faith I know that this whole ordeal would be much more difficult.  Jesus I Trust in You!

God Bless you all on this Veteran's Day,

    Linda

To all A we bit of prayer for me right now ----passing bladder stone as I write started about 2 hours ago should take another 2 hours. This is the 2nd one, so I have a clue what the course is. Not fun. Another gift of Bc

Aromastase inhibitor lead to osteoporsis>>>Took Miacalcin to counter those effects>>Miacalcin is calcitonin which controls calcium>>>kidney and bladder stones. If this were a kidney stone  versus bladder, I'd be in the hospital LOL. Bless you all for any kind thought.

To all, mmm5 asked me about Glenda Moore on the intentions for the novena to Our Lady. Many have died and we have a general intention for all. The story of Glenda Moore hit me so deeply, I had to include her and her sons individually. So many here are Moms, I can't believe what Glenda is going throug.  Here is her story.

Monday night as Sandy moved in on the coast. The storm surge preceded Sandy. Glenda Moore was home alone on Staten Island, with her babies Brandon 2 and Connor 4. Around 6pm,  she decided to head for higher ground. She packed her babies in their car seats. She drove until the flood waters stopped her car. She took the babies from their car seats. Put one under each arm and tried to walk. A wave came that was so strong, that her babies were ripped from her arms. She never saw them again.

She went to one house, The people answered the door. She asked for help. The response was "We don't know you". They then shut the door in her face. Glenda then went to a second house. They didn't answer the door, just turned out the lights.

Glenda spent 12 hours outside that night. At 6 am, she was able to flag down a police car. A search ensued, both babies bodies were recovered.

The pain that Glenda must be feeling is, to me, beyond comprehension. Then add to that the inhumanity of the people, she sought help from is, also, beyond comprehesion.

I've added them specifically by name to the novena. How Glenda's heart and mind will heal? The babies taken so soon?

Reminder Announcement for novena to OUR LADY of the MIRACULOUS MEDAL.  Start Date: Wed NOV 14th-end date- Thurs. Nov 22nd which is Thanksgiving.

The novena is constructed already on the Catholic Archives page link below. As in the past all are welcome. All that were in the last novena to St perigrine will be moved forward. If you don't want to included in this novena ,please, PM me and I will remove your name.

The novena will also be added to the world wide Rosary thread.

The novena will only be on the archives thread, as it was too confusing updating both threads as people requested additions.  Everyone will be notified by PM. If you know of someone that would like to be included , have them PM their intention

New info:A specific intention has been added for those hurt by Sandy. But if you would like to name someone in particular ,please PM.

New request: If anyone lives near the shrine in Philly,Penn. and would be willing to take the list that would be a blessing. PM

I start the rosary during my treatments.  It helps me endure.

My chest after radiation looks awful now.  I think about Jesus being scourged during the Passion and imagine the skin looking something like mine.  Only there is no pain with mine, just occasional fierce itching.

I unite my mild sufferings with those of His sacred heart through the holy sacrifice of the mass.  This is something only a Catholic would know about or think about doing.  It helps.

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to our people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your divine Son, remembering His promise: "Ask and you shall receive, Seek and you shall find". Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick or lonely or depressed. Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the holy Mass. Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death. Amen

The above prayer is to Our Lady of Knock who appeared in the town of Knock in Co. Mayo, Ireland. Many miracles happen at Knock, may they also happen for all of us.

Barbie --addeded cecile to your intention

Nana--C&P'd a copy of the Prayer to Our Lady of Knock to the archives page.

Michelle-I know that you have a very special devotion to Our Mother. Blessings

To all new memebers of the Catholic thread, The archives page was made a long time ago as was the intentions page to save the prayers and intentions written here. Anyone can transfer them. You can post them here and then transfer the thought to appropriate page. As the discussions move on, this is a way not to lose our prayers and intentions. Of recent time the archives page has been used for novenas for the same reason. Namaste sheila

Saw an interventional radiologist (IR), who thinks radiofrequency ablation on the liver would be successful and a liver surgeon who said surgery could be a back-up plan. I have to talk to the oncologist tomorrow. It would mean I'd have to come off the clinical trial I'm on. I know that oncologists don't like tumor removal in stage 4 patients because it "blinds" them. They use the tumor size to gauge whether or not chemo is working on unseen, microscopic cancer cells (I'll be on chemo forever). However, the IR and surgeon pretty much feel, "well, there's this bad thing in your liver and we're pretty sure we can kill it or remove it, so why keep it"? I get both points of view. The clinical trial has been a God-send, considering the fact that it shrunk the tumor more than half, but now it's stable. So we have decisions and options, which is good! Please pray for guidance and that the right decision is made! Thanks.

Linda -2years, But I tend to react strongly to drugs. There is a genetic testing for the liver pathways 2D6, 2c9,2c19. Much info can be garned from knowing how they are functioning. Medicare is covering it. More insurers will follow.

    Thanks for the Memorare

Linda do I need to check your intention? or put one in?

Penny follow your heart and gut---Sounds good The science is behind it. Radio frequency ablation started at the Karolinska facility in the 90's. They are top notch in research. Way aheah of other folks. I think it's because they allow their researchers more freedom to explore, could be wrong. But when I would do reseach and the"K" reference would come up, it'd be good.

Cherilynn, I would say Tuesday would be a good day to transfer to rosary site.

We have no one to take the novena to the shrine in philly PA. Thinking, may be someone could C&P into an email and send it that way. It would likely go as an attachment? Anyone good at this stuff , let us know if this is doable?

Linda, If you'd like to add an intention I will, then you could do the novena on your own or anyone lurking can do it too. You could ask Cherilynn how to add your intention to the rosary site. Cheri works long strange hours , so, it may be awhile before you her from her.

Cherilynn or mmm5--Can either of you explain how to add something to the rosary thread? Thanks in advance Namaste sheila

Penny keep us upto date. Prayers for assistance with your decision. What clinical trial are you in? Is it something you could make Frank aware of?

    Cami(hugs)))))

    Sheila,

I'm on a clinical trial for breast cancer patients with BRCA1 or BRCA2 (the ovarian/breast cancer genes).  I've shared this info with Frank, but I don't think his cancer is genetic.  He and I are both positive for the HER2neu receptor and he needs to really target that right now.  The oncologists were targeting it for me until I became metastatic and then they decided that the BRCA may be what's driving my cancer train, since herceptin (which targets the HER2neu) didn't seem to be working.  Lo and behold, this wonderful trial at Penn arrived just in the nick of time, praise God!  I get scans on the 7th and we will then be making our decision.  I will update!

    Blessings,

    Smile

    Penny

Penny, thanks for the update. What would radio frequency therapy mean to frank? I'm sure that you don't have an answer b/c it's way to technical, but let Frank know they are considering it for you. Remember he was the first to get Herceptin and he had to fight for it all the way.L&H&P's sheila

Heard from Cheri-- she posted the novena on the rosary thread on the last day of the novena. She's through her move and in an apartment. Has job interviews. An offer on her old home. All items in her intention for the novena :)

Heard from dm-she joined us in the novena. Her dad is very ill with CA. He has now entered hospice. If you could keep them in your prayers.
