FelingFeline- Prayers going out for Jamie too.Sure hope they find the best treatment that holds it at bay.

Redwolf-  Thank you Jesus. I pray you continue to be able to progress w/ your chemo and this ugly disease stops rearing its  head. I consider it to be like kicking the devil back down where he belongs. Miracles do happen.

Pentacost coming on Sunday and I plan to do my best to rejoice in The Lord's appearance to the Apostles.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. We are seeing Jamie's radiation onc next Friday, and still have to wait for biopsy scars to heal before he can have MRI, after which he will have to choose between two radical options. The proposed options are radical due to agressive nature of the tumour cells. Scariest part for him is that the treatment could cause total loss of sexual function. Not being a man I don't have a real insight into how bad this must sound, just imagining. Obviously for me as his wife his life is waaaaay more important than his virility. I am sad to see this horrible thing happen to him. Never imagined lightning could strike our family twice, but those of you who have been through more than one cancer dx know all too well that it can.

On a good news note a new novena begins today in the run up to Pentecost. I will post it below for anyone who would like to take part.

The Pentecost Novena is actually the original novena, the
    first novena.

After Jesus ascended into Heaven, the disciples prayed for
nine days for the Holy Spirit, "the promise of my Father." (Luke
    24:49).

And on the tenth day, they received the Holy Spirit, on
    Pentecost Sunday!

As we pray to the Holy Spirit, like the disciples did, we
want you to be sure that you find some sort of concrete intention for this
    novena.

The Holy Spirit is a powerful advocate, and trust in God is
key in the spiritual life. So, make an extra special effort to trust in God's
will for you regarding your intention.

Here are the prayers for today:

Day 1 - The Pentecost Novena

    Charity

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the
Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the
    Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the
dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By
Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a
beggar’s heart for Your gift of Charity within us.

The great charity of all the the host of Saints is only made
possible by your power, Oh Divine Spirit. Increase in me, the virtue of charity
that I may love as God loves with the selflessness of the Saints.

    Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and
kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be
created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct
the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly
wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord,

    Amen.

Ladies my prayers- your prayers have been answered. I also prayed all thru the scans today.  I was told spread of BC involved my shoulder bone area , chest wall and lungs on MRI a few weeks ago. Today Bone Scan negative, abdominal scan negative and even the spots on my left lung showed two on MRI but only one ( as last year) seen on CT scan. The nodule under my collar bone has also shrunk.

I am sure my intense 2 month shoulder pain now was from the fall I had. Thanks you dear Jesus.

Not sure if I will still have to go on Zeloda still , will talk to my MO.

Each day of this novena, we will pray for one of the fruits
    of the Holy Spirit.

The fruits of the Spirit are, "perfections that the
Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory." (Catechism
    of the Catholic Church)

    Today's prayers are for Joy.

Joy is one of those signs that shows the world that there is
something different about followers of Christ. So, let us pray today for a
greater Joy that will shine through to the rest of the world!

Here are the prayers for today:

    Day 2 - The Pentecost
    Novena

    Joy

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the
Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the
    Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the
dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By
Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a
beggar’s heart for Your gift of Joy within us.

All of the Saints are marked with an uncompromisable Joy in
times of trial, difficulty and pain. Give us, Oh Holy Spirit, the Joy that
surpasses all understanding that we may live as a witness to Your love and
    fidelity!

Feelingfeline - hope you don't mind if I post today's novena:

    Today's prayers are for Peace.

Let us pray that we can open our hearts to the Holy Spirit so that an abiding peace will stay in our hearts despite any hardship or worry that comes into our lives.

Here are the prayers for today:
Day 3 - The Pentecost Novena
    Peace

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar’s heart for Your gift of Peace within us.

The Saints were tempted, attacked and accused by the devil who is the destroyer of peace. When we are accused by the devil, come to our aid as our Advocate and give us Peace that lasts through all trials!

    Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord,

Today, let's continue to place our most confident trust in
our God who is good and wants what is best for us.

Let's pray for patience as we await God's answers to our
prayers and as we await the joy of heaven.

Here are the prayers for today:

    Day 4 - The Pentecost
    Novena

    Patience

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the
Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the
    Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the

Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a
beggar’s heart for Your gift of Patience within us.

Oh Holy Spirit, you give lavishly to those who ask. Please
give us the patience of the Saints who are now with you in heaven. Help us to
endure everything with an eternal patience that is only possible with your
    help.

    Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and
kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be

Kindness is kind of a big deal. Sometimes we can forget that.

Jesus showed great kindness to sinners. He shows great kindness to you and me every single day. So, today we will pray for greater kindness in our hearts.

Here are the prayers for today:

Day 5 - The Pentecost Novena

    Kindness

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar’s heart for Your gift of Kindness within us.

Jesus approached sinners with immense kindness. Holy Paraclete, please treat us humble sinners with the same kindness and give us the ability to treat all others with that kindness as well.

It can be so difficult to follow
Jesus every single day in every little way.

    Keeping His commandments does not
always come naturally for most of us. God calls us to be heroic in our virtue
    and selfless with others.

    This is not easy.

In fact, it is impossible on our
own! But, with God all things are possible!

God is quick to forgive us when
we fail. And He wants to help us, with the power of the Holy Spirit, to be more
    faithful.

    Today, let's pray for
    faithfulness.

    Here are the prayers for
    today:

Day 6 - The Pentecost Novena

    Faithfulness

Let us bow down in humility at
the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and
give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power,
Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are
performed in Jesus’ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we
ask with humility and a beggar’s heart for Your gift of Faithfulness within us.

You, oh Lord, are ever faithful.
You are faithful until the end. Though we are weak and distracted, please give
us the grace to be faithful to You as you are to us!

    Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts
of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your
Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the
Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same
Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through

We ask the Lord to bless us with the ability to treat those
in our lives who struggle, those who annoy us, those who sin against us, those
    who are difficult... with gentleness.

We ask this so that the love of God may show through us to
    all people!

Here are the prayers for today:

    Day 7 - The
    Pentecost Novena

    Gentleness

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the
Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the
    Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the
dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By
Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a
beggar’s heart for Your gift of Gentleness within us.

Despite the gravity of our sins, oh Lord you treat us with
Gentleness. Dear Holy Spirit, give us your power to treat all in our lives with
    the Gentleness of the Saints.

    Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and
kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be
created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Today we are going to pray for self-control. All of us could use more of it in our daily lives in one way or another.

Here are the prayers for today:

Day 8 - The Pentecost Novena

    Self-Control

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar’s heart for Your gift of Self-Control within us.

Your Martyrs had the overwhelming self-control to go joyfully to a painful death without shrinking from the opportunity to join You in heaven. Give us this self-control to have command over our emotions and desires that we may serve You more fully.

Ronnie-Kay  and all you lovely ladies. Praise the Lord . I found out today that I will not need to go on the Zeloda and barring anything new showing up on the other side mammo which I had today. I do not have to go back for 6 months. My MO cannot give me a good explanation of why the MRI was so bad but said he relies mostly on the CT scans ( mine were VERY good last week)  I of course told him that I knew the Lord had intervened  He is Asian so  gave me a somewhat puzzled look...ha..

With Pentecost this weekend I can allow myself to feel real joy at last for over a year.

Redwolf - Amen too. The Novena  " self control " part is a tough on for me. I pray to improve on this one.

FeelingFeline- yesterday a neighbor's Doberman chased my cat up a very tall pine tree. 50 ft up. I had to call an " arborist" who climbed up there w/ease and got her down. Needless to say she is going to be staying in for quite a while. Being such a cat lover I could not " Just leave her come down eventually " as people had told me. She is rarely even outside let along up a tree.

Anyway please pray that my mammo is OK as I will too , then I plan to get out and enjoy the summer w/the grandkids.

    Peace Be With You.

Day 9 - The Pentecost Novena

Today let's pray for Goodness - that we can be good and holy as the Saints!

Here are the prayers for today:

    Goodness

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar’s heart for Goodness within us.

We want to be like your Saints in heaven. Holy Spirit, renew us by your power with your Goodness that we may bring the Good News to the world.

Rene, Wonderful news. Praise God. Smile

Glad to hear your cat was rescued, 50 ft is a WAAAY high climb. Cats are better at going up in panic than climbing down at leisure.

Your good news has given me a boost here. My husband had his MRI Thursday. Tumor appears to be contained thank God, however one part of pelvic bone was unable to be determined as definitely clear. CT scan next Thur. God willing it will be well.

This morning we had a private tour of the film studios where the History Channel programme "The Vikings" is filmed. 3rd series is filming there at present. I won this tour - a prize in a raffle, actually the day before Jamie was diagnosed. It was VERY interesting. The film sets were so real, huge mossy boulders that looked like they had been there since the dinosaurs - all hollow! We also got to see costume, hair and make up, the stars dressing rooms - the works. Great fun.
