Penny, I was just looking at the novena to Mary Untier  (Undoer) of Knots.  It is written in a magazine that I get.  A history of the painting is described too.  I was going to post this if you were too ill.  So glad that you're doing better.  It is more than coincidence that you posted about it.  Count me in!--Corky

Ronnie, here is the magazine: http://www.sign.org/Magazinemembership

There has been a price increase so I am not going to renew my subscription.  The issue with Our Lady Untier of Knots on the cover is my last.  The subscription is considered a membership and supports their apostolate but it is too expensive for me anymore.

Corky - I'll probably only feel up to posting a reminder every day.  For the complete prayers, there should be a link to click on. However, if someone else wants to post the entire novena every day in this thread, I will NOT be offended.  :-) Penny

Anyone can feel free to step in :-)

RonnieKay- Redwolf- Feeling Feline and Corky,  Your prayers helped me stay calm in the MRI machine yesterday. 45 minutes flat on my back and that noise. I had them blast the classical music, washcloth over eyes and prayed the Rosary the whole time. Kept losing my place and had to start over-ha.

Well the not so good news is that my MO said things have indeed spread- lungs, chest wall and scapula. They did not check the spine as yet. I have been offered the chemo drug Xeloda as only option or go on hospice. I do not do well w/drugs and kinda knew this hospice time would be coming at some point. I have a week to think about it. So will mull over everything this coming week. At 66 I feel like I had a good life and would hope to keep my remaining time left with as much quality of life as possible. Please pray for me to come to the right decision. I need God more than ever.

Rene, how beautiful that you are right with the Lord now, with Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday.  Your timing was wonderful but God's timing is perfect.  I will pray for you to do what's best.  Corky

Rene I am so very sorry that the news is not what you would wish. God is with you. I know you trust that He will help you in making choices about your care. Jeremiah: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." Will pray hard.

Penny I will be happy to post up the daily novena. I was thinking I might not be the best person as I am in such a different timezone to you all, but then realised actually I am ahead, so it would be just a case of early rather than lateSmile!! Anyway no prayer is late since God's time is not our linear time. So I will post the novena daily from 15th. XXX

Linda KR - Corky60- FeelingFeline and you other ladies w/brand new catechumens (sp)  in the family. How wonderful. I just s/w a friend who also had a nephew who had his first communion also this past Sunday. The last two churches I attended seemed to do it at Easter Sunday. The last mass I was at had two new baby baptism. Such an added treat to the routine mass. I just love those babies.

I am a little calmer today and want to thank you all for the prayers. I think The Lord has been preparing me this past year and has guided me along. I always admired people with strong faith and could never see myself reaching that all trusting point but I am now .I feel so blessed. Many people never actually get there and I pray for them too.

We all have some “knots” in our lives… and Mary can untie
    them!

The devotion to Mary, Undoer of Knots has become more
popular ever since Pope Francis encouraged the devotion in Argentina, and then
spoke about it during his first year as pontiff.

The theology of the devotion actually goes back to the
second century. Saint Irenaeus wrote that, “The knot of Eve’s disobedience was
untied by the obedience of Mary; what the virgin Eve bound by her unbelief, the
Virgin Mary loosened by her faith.”

Mary’s faith unties the knot of sin!

So we will pray that the Blessed Virgin Mary will intercede
for us all, to untie the knots of sin in our lives – so that we may be purified
    and ever closer to God.

    DAILY
    PRAYERS:

1.Begin each day of the Novena to Mary, Undoer of Knots,
with the Sign of the Cross.

2.Make an Act of Contrition. You can use any form; simply
ask God to pardon your sins and make a firm purpose of amendment not to commit
    them again.

3.(Optional) Pray the first three decades of the Rosary

4.Make the meditation for the particular day (as follows).

    5. Closing Prayers (as follows).

    MEDITATION
FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE NOVENA TO MARY, UNDOER OF KNOTS

    Dearest Holy
Mother, Most Holy Mary, you undo the knots that suffocate your children. Extend
your merciful hands to me. I entrust to You today this knot [mention your
request here] and all the negative consequences that it provokes in my life. I
give you this knot that torments me and makes me unhappy and so impedes me from
uniting myself to You and Your Son Jesus, my Savior. I run to You, Mary, Undoer of Knots, because I trust you and I know
that you never despise a sinning child who comes to ask you for help. I
believe that you can undo this knot because Jesus grants you everything. I
believe that you want to undo this knot because you are my Mother. I believe
that You will do this because you love me with eternal love. Thank you, Dear
    Mother.

    Mary, Undoer
    of Knots, pray for me.

    Closing Prayers:

    5. (Optional Pray the last two decades of the rosary.

    6. Pray the Prayer to Mary, Undoer of Knots:

    PRAYER TO
    MARY, UNDOER OF KNOTS

Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses
to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve
your beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense
mercy that exists in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see
the snarl of knots that exist in my life.
You know very well how desperate I am, my pain, and how I am bound by
these knots. Mary, Mother to whom God entrusted the undoing of the knots in the
lives of his children, I entrust into your hands the ribbon of my life. No one,
not even the Evil One himself, can take it away from your precious care. In
your hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. Powerful Mother, by your
grace and intercessory power with Your Son and My Liberator, Jesus, take into
    your hands today this knot.

    [Mention your request
    here]

    I beg you to
undo it for the glory of God, once for all. You are my hope. O my Lady, you are the only consolation God gives me, the
fortification of my feeble strength, the enrichment of my destitution,
and, with Christ, the freedom from my chains. Hear my plea. Keep me,
guide me, protect me, o safe refuge!

    Mary, Undoer
    of Knots, pray for me.

    Amen.

    Day 2 -

Today, let's pray that the Blessed Virgin Mary will untie the knot of contraception in our culture. Let's especially pray for an end to abortion.

    1. Begin each day of the novena with the Sign of the Cross.

    2. Make an Act of Contrition. You can use any form; simply ask God to pardon your sins and make a firm purpose of amendment not to commit them again.

    3. OPTIONAL, but recommended: Pray the first three decades of the Rosary.

    4. Make the meditation for the particular day (see below).

    Meditation for Day 2

Mary, Beloved Mother, channel of all grace, I return to you today my heart, recognizing that I am a sinner in need of your help. Many times I lose the graces you grant me because of my sins of egoism, pride, rancor, and my lack of generosity and humility. I turn to you today, Mary, Undoer of Knots, for you to ask your Son Jesus to grant me a pure, divested, humble and trusting heart. I will live today practicing these virtues and offering you this as a sign of my love for you. I entrust into your hands this knot (mention your request here) which keeps me from reflecting the glory of God.

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.

    5. OPTIONAL, but recommended: Pray the last two decades of the rosary.

    6. Pray the Prayer to Mary, Undoer of Knots (see below).

Prayer to Mary, Undoer of Knots

Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve your beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exists in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exist in my life. I have hepatitis e. The oncologist just called me - all the cultures and blood they took in the hospital finally came back. Health Department is involved (I guess 'cause it's rare in non-third-world countries?). I may have to have more testing done before being able to start chemo. Please pray that chemo is not delayed too long. Thanks.

I have to see a gastroenterologist at UPenn who specializes in liver diseases. She wants to get me on an anti-viral med so this doesn't flare up again when I'm back on chemo and my white blood cells go down.

Penny-  Will be praying for a good response to the antivirals. As a nurse I had shots against Hep B but there was not one for  Hep  C and E. It is one of those diseases you can have had for a long time w/out having any symptoms. The new anti viral are so good now.

    Hugs and prayers.
