It is so wonderful to pray together, and Paula, many thanks for your postings. I am going to follow up with a beautiful sign I had tonight right before prayers that affects all of us.

    God Bless you ALL.

You're welcome Traci.  How are you?

I think my foggy brain may not have included ALL the prayers and my internet was a little slow right around 7pm.  If you'd like other prayers, can you email me paula8@inbox.com and I can copy and paste it for next Friday.

Initially I was going to meet up with the Ta Ta Sistas Reunion but I have a funny reaction from the radioactive stuff they gave me yesterday.  Woke up with a headache and a foggy brain the whole day, hopefully I can meet them tomorrow.  But nonetheless, I'm very very happy and relieved, Praise God!

    Janet and All,

Feast of the Guardian Angels! You have no idea how blown away I was when read that. Tonight I was doing a lot of thinking and appreciating the fact I was swimming under the stars, because one year ago tomorrow, is my one year cancerversary. This time last year, I did not know if I would be here a year later. I didn't know much about survivability, as the radiologist who took my core biopsy inferred she was afraid I may have mets to the brain when I told her of my symptoms. My tumor was large on ultrasound and they basically diagnosed me without the biopsy. So here I am one year later. grateful grateful grateful.

As I walked home tonight, I was thinking about you all and it was about 9:50. I looked up at the sky, and three birds flew by and disappeared into the night air. I was struck by this...they were in formation, like Geese flying south for winter, but they were not Geese. They looked more like Swallows (but they weren't.) I was thinking, why are there birds flying into the night? and in formation? I also had a deep appreciation for what I had just witnessed, it seemed very special, like an "event." A message. I thought, it was like three Angels flying by, waving hello. It really was very special, and I started to cry. I have had a few experiences in this lifetime that felt Divinely Ordered, and this was one of them.  I felt like the birds were for all of us, a hello from Spirit, a recognition of our upcoming weekly Prayers. I know I cannot convey to you all the feelings I felt, but it all just clicked. Absolutely Wonderful, Spiritual and Gorgeous. I hope you all hear that you are being watched over and loved.

and I so look forwards to the Feast of the Guardian Angels tomorrow :) Have Sweet Dreams all.

Traci - Wow.  That gave me chills up & down my spine!  I so believe in signs like that.

I wonder if all our guardian angels know each other :):)   I'd like to think so.

when i first joined this thread, someone would post once every 10 hours or so... sometimes days would pass with a post being made, a prayer offered.

Now when i check this thread, PAGES have been added.  I am grateful for the growth and community of my Catholic sisters.

    prayers for you all.

Kansas weather is absolutely beautiful at this time of year.  A good day to work.

I joined in the prayers at 10PM, although not the same ones you were saying, just what I could remember since I was in the car and didn't have them or a computer.  I was heading home from dropping off my 20 year old niece (who lost her mom to this beast 3 years ago).  We had gone to see her father in the ICU at the hospital near my dad's house.  It doesn't look good.  Even if he survives this crisis, he will have to stay sober to avoid another, and that hasn't happened up until now.  Please pray that whatever God's plan for my brother, that it unfolds in the way that is best for my 89 year old father and my niece.

    Pat,

My heart goes out to you and your family. I imagine the hurt you are all going through, and pray for your brother's release from his afflictions, and a return of health and sobriety as God wills. I pray for your niece, that she be held close by her Guardian Angel, today of all day's, the Feast of the Guardian Angels. It's so nice we are all praying together, it is powerful when people come together with good intentions. I hope you all receive a sign today of God's interventions.  As you say, God's plan is beyond our wishes and understanding. May you be bolstered in your faith during this very difficult time.

    God Bless.

    Apple,

I have to say, it is a testament to you all that this thread grows. I was greeted with kindness and embraced even with my questions about spirituality, and my different religious upbringing. I see God in everything, especially Nature. I hear the beauty in all of your voices, and grow more content as days go by. I have had years of physical pain before I became a BC Sister. I was filled with anger, frustration and removed myself from the world around me. Pain is like that. But I always had a pilot light burning inside...sometimes very dim, but always wanting. I was playing "Shaman's Call" in my head while I swam last night, a song I used to play along to with my flute. I have some CD's, one of my favorite being Earth Spirit, Native American Flute Music, with R. Carlos Nakai. I imagined myself picking up my flute again, because I wanted to. I decided it was time to get my flute to sing again. This was all just before I was walking home to pray with you all, and the three birds flew by and winked at me.

We all share so much more than what separates us. I truly enjoy hearing everyone's prayers, and I grow within your ministry.

So Bless you all today, and onwards. Keep the Joy coming!

    Janet,

I bet they all do know each other...I cannot wait to learn more about this Feast...my afternoon "project."  I bet they are all giggling together, and saying..."They are listening!" Mine probably had to take a nap from exhaustion, having been knocking on my head for so long :)

Isn't it a pretty day up our way?

    How are you doing?

and Jan, I have been thinking about you too.  I hope you are recovering well, and I know you have made some serious strides on the other front, and I cheer cheer you on. I am getting ready to stop the foolishness. Change is a coming.

    Jeannine,

I will be playing my flute for you today. You are in all of our thoughts and prayers, as well as our hearts.

and to the many other ladies, of whom I think of as well, I hope you are all having a good day today. I'm interested in hearing how all of you are doing.

Traci - mostly I'm getting bored being cooped up.  I see all these little things that need to be done around house and trying my best to just ignore them for now.  My temp feels more normal today, but haven't taken it yet. My left hand has a little swelling (mastec side).  I took my first short walk last night and my hands felt fine again!  It's back again today, so will keep moving.  I'll be glad to get this drain out - hopefully Monday.  What is the magic number for that?  The measuring cup starts at 30 and I'm about half that twice a day.  And I forgot to say earlier - congrats on your anniversary!!!   I'll take all of those I can get.

Pat - alcoholism is just as much a disease/suffering as cancer.  Special prayers today for you, your brother & especially your young niece.

A shout out to Apple in Kansas!  It's beautiful fall day here too.  Praise God for each small blessing :)

    Good morning sistas,

Thank you for joinning me in prayers last night.  It's awesome.  Traci ~ thanks for leading this prayer group, I pray that this prayer group will stay strong.

Traci ~ Congratulations on your cancerversary.  It is a milestone indeed.  {{{{Hugs}}}} to you.  I know you've come a long way and endured a lot.  We will beat this beast!!!

Apple ~ I'm still pretty new to the BCO board, but I know what you mean and feel grateful that we are pulling together and our frequency is getting better.  Our comradery is strong and I truly feel that we have a Loyal Sisterhood here I can count on at any given time.

Apple, Betty, Ellie, Jan, Janet, Jeannine, Laura, mmm5, Monika, Sheila, Theresa, Tori and Traci (I hope I didn't forget to input anyone's name) ~ I've been praying for each one of us every morning.

Prayers to our Blessed Mother ~

We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.  (Pocket Book of Catholic Prayers, St. Joseph's Edition)

Oh Jan - the setbacks are surely frustrating.   If you get a fever or think it's infected over weekend, maybe call your doc?  I'm sure he's probably got an answering service for after hours/weekends.  He might want you on an antibiotic or send you to ER for a dressing or something.  Thinking of you sweetie.  Lord, please help us heal.

    mmm5,

Glad you are back home with your family. Three boys! You must be a fun mom :)

    Jan,

Is the oozing around your drain site? (I don't think your drain is out yet...) Is your drain functioning properly?

    Paula,

I just had the idea, you all are the ones that make prayer night happen. I am especially grateful to you for posting prayers each week. Are you feeling any better today? Any thoughts on the Ta Ta Sisterhood? ( did I get that right?)

    Hi!

No, I figured this out. It is a blood blister that has popped near the incision. I don't know what has caused this but I'll show the PS on Tuesday when I go.

    Thanks

Traci ~ still got the foggy brain today plus it's spitting and gloomy.  The Ta-ta Sisters are in town but I think I will join them for brunch tomorrow.

I thought about the signs that you received last night, it sort of signifies the turmor, the treatments and worries (the whole bad ordeal) is being carried (or taken) away from you - gone, no more! And you are going to celebrate the new you.  Today is your 1 year anniversary! That was truly a wonderful sign ~ embrace it !

I pray for your success in kicking the Nicorette habit :)

    {{{Big Hugs}}}

I've been sitting at the keyboard for 10 minutes trying to think of something inspirational to say tonight, and the only thing that comes to mind is the girl scout vespers taken from taps - sung at the close of campfire each night:

Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the skies
    All is well, safely rest;
    God is nigh.

     Good night to all.
