Just finished walking a 5K benefit raising money for Huntingtons. One of our walking women's first husband and daughter both died of this horrible disease and she really, really appreciates the support. I am going to force myself to do some abs, some errands and then we are off to an Elton John tribute concert. Later!!

I saw this episode on PBS this week and it featured an 87 year old triathlete. Another inspiration to keep active.

Wonderland I am glad you are OK. Hurricanes are so devastatng. Enjoy Hilton Head.

Cheryl I hope you can get your sciatica under control. When my mom had such bad pain, it turned out it was radiating from her hip and sheneeded hip replacement. I hope your problem is less than that.

Wild colonial congrats on crossing India. Thats a lot of steps.

I cant remember when I last checked in but mowed my back yard this week and managed to get a walk yesterday. Currently have 178 minutes this week. I will probably do boatloads of exercise this weekend after a stressful week at work, because it seems to be the only way I can relieve the stress. I took the day off yesterday to go to the dentist and oncologist and ended up working four hours anyway! Good news is my teeth are perfect and onc appointment no issues. I told her I think my job is trying to kill me and she said she hears that a lot. Somehow that made me feel better-that I am not the only one.

Been up and down on a step stool today. Taking down my warm weather curtains in living room and kitchen. Washed and hung on the line to dry and put up my cold weather curtains. Helped hubby also take the air conditioners out and put them away. Only have the curtains for upstairs to do and the house will have a start on prepping for Fall and Winter

My warm weather curtains are thin and lightweight. Colder weather ones are thicker and heavier.

mommyof2- thanks for the clarification. As you can tell I don't spend a lot of time in cold weather.

Glorious day here in Denver. Great morning walk. Another day of cooking as another holiday starts tonight - Sukkot. It seems like lately I grocery shop, cook, clean go to synagogue, work and start over again!! DD#2 and SIL are here for a week. Already got my haircut and been to the grocery store. Got split pea and barley soup up, rice cooking. Baking poppy seed cookies. Need to grill chicken and a few other things. Dinner tonight and lunch Monday and Tuesday. Dinners are whatever anyone wants!!

Enjoy Sunday. I will try to be back later today, if not, I'll be off the boards till Tuesday night.

We also have gorgeous weather. Blue skies, cool but not cold enough to wear a jacket. Walked 45 minutes at the forest preserve yesterday. Came upon a wedding, wedding photos being taken and a quincinera. They all looked beautiful.

Today I mowed the lawn 55 minutes and then walked the dog to the park.

To all of you enjoying the cooler weather I'm jealous. I can visualize all these beautiful walks and bike rides you guys are going on now. With humidity it was 96 degrees this evening. I will be so happy when the temperature just hits the low 80s. LOL I am tired of running in this miserable weather. I'm thankful I can alternate between using the treadmill and running outside.

We have rain, rain, and more rain. The lawn squishes when you walk on it. I’d love some of that crispy Denver weather!

Heading out for a cardio circuit at the gym, then onto the store to pick up a card for DH. It’s our 36th anniversary tomorrow. Hard to believe it’s been 36 years, especially since I’m only 29 years old. Winking

    Happy Anniversary, Nats & DH!!

Just a quick check in; I'm off to Minneapolis for a couple days with three old friends. We met when we all taught together back in 1975 and still get together a couple times a year. Since they aren't exercisers, I just did 45 minutes on the dreadmill and a 15 minute abs DVD. I'll have to catch up when I get back on Thursday.

Cool overcast day here- really feeling like fall!

Happy Anniversary Nats & M. TH I am thinking it's more my hip too, or maybe a bulging disc as I have the pain in the lower lumbar region but not going down my leg and then sometimes it's down the leg and then for a while I was having trouble getting on my socks and shoes as the front hip flexor was tight and my Dad had 3 hip replacements so maybe family history is in my DNA.

Took a rest day yesterday and did nothing but watch all my DVR shows and saturday went to a FitFest and did a new program called Tone, which incorporated all over body movements.

Tomorrow one of my closest friends begins chemo for liver cancer, found by accident because she was is agony with back pain. They removed her gall bladder and in the process saw the cancer, come to find out that when she had her mammogram earlier this year they told her her lymph nodes were inflamed and that was all they said, she also had blood work where a comment was made oh your liver enzymes are elevated - now you put 2 & 2 together and the icing on the cake is her daughter is getting married in 5 weeks. She was prepped for surgery on friday and 15 minutes before decided on chemo first, it's a roller coaster and she is having surgery this morning as they found a gallstone lodged in a lymph node, hopefully this will give her relief from the back pain.

hbcheryl- I'm sorry to hear your friend is going through a very difficult time. It's disconcerting that the healthcare professionals didn't put two and two together. It is so true when people say you have to be your own advocate. My positive thoughts are with your friend. Hopefully you will find out what's causing your pain.

    Nata and H- happy anniversary

I am so sorry about your friend, Cheryl. I hope her medical team can do better going forward than they did in the past! You better get in and figure out what's going on yourself. DH did something to his knee in August and is finally seeing a doctor today after hobbling around for 6 weeks.

I am at my friend's house. I'm up drinking coffee but everyone else is still asleep. We visited, played games and ate all night. Shopping and eating and more visiting are on tap for the day. Definitely relaxing!

What a cute couple Heart My friend is starting her chemo as I write 4 rounds, she has a slew of reading material but didn't want to press her on type and spoke with her DD last night and told her they could build it around the wedding date and she just told me they have done that so that is good. Ruth I honestly think part of the problem is that no one has GPs these days they just go to specialists, I have a GP and have had for many years and he looks at every outside test and knows me and people don't seem to have that any more, I keep my fingers crossed my GP doesn't retire. Glad Steve is getting the knee looked at, I have ramped up the stretching doing lots of hip openers and will keep on that path till my appointment.

Did my dance class last night then a quick walk around Costco, I was looking for a Roku so I can put my Acorn and Britbox apps on my living room tv, they had them last week but all gone this week so I'll just wait. Had my annual mammogram this morning, it never gets easy.

hbcheryl- my oncologist insised on my getting a complete physical from my GP. I had a complete physical prior to my surgery on January 29th and I had. another physical midway through chemo. I was the one who felt it wasn't necessary because my onologist was examining me every 3 weeks. I was wrong. I will continue with complete physicals every 6 months until I'm told otherwise by my physician.

Mary- I bet you do not look a day older now than you did when you married. Cute pic.

Hi All! I'm back from Hilton Head. My birthday was yesterday - a young 63 Happy DS came home for the night. He and my dd cooked a delicious dinner for us. Love celebrating with family!

    Happy Birthday, Wonderland!

    Great picture, Mary!

DH's knee is 'just' the bone-on-bone situation he already knows he has. He just must have tweaked it. He got a cortisone shot, which have worked for him in the past. He knows a knee replacement is in the future, but wants to delay it as long as possible.

    Cheryl: Yea on your results!

Nats: Are the rowing machines Concept 2? If so, those are the ones my cousins designed and manufacture.

It rained off and on today. Was able to get my walk/run in after the rain stopped.
