Jaboo. I developed Hand/Foot while on chemo. Hand and feet would turn bright red and get really hot! Any kind of friction would cause it to get worse. I stopped walking and tried avoiding water on hand. Luke warm fast showers, and a lotion Urea Cream 10%. I wore open shoes to let feet as it out and ice my feet and hands. My OC had me start icing during chemo treatment so it would not get worse. It took while to lift off but does go away.

    Hope this helps!

DS's house is getting sided, so we are puppy sitting again this week......which means two long and one short walk. I also scanned books at the library for a couple hours and went to Zumba.

MOmmyof2, that is so sweet to help them. We get older and don't want to ask for help. Not proud, just not used to needing people.

WATP, 4 miles this morning; 4 games of pickleball this evening. Hips not happy.

    Night sculpted friends.

Patoo, I know hard it is for my MIL to ask for my help. She told me she didn't want to be a burden on me when I come over to visit them. I told her there is no way she could be a burden and that I understand her not being able to do certain things anymore, so I would be glad to help her.

Worked out yesterday and today is a skip day as I have lots to do here.

Life1963 - thank you, that is indeed helpfull. In fact, I'm trying the same tactics - now I have contest called "what's the lowest possible number of steps in a day?". Starting today, Taxol was yesterday.

So when I have to stop walking, I am going to do more yoga and stretching and the like. At least those exercises I can do lying down.

jaboo, good idea. just keep moving somehow. On my last bike ride, we went to a nature preserve called Sihlwald with 51 km of biking trails. We started from the house. It's not a very steep area, still pre-alpine, but lots of ups and downs. We have ebikes, which helps. Still a workout to chase after DH.

Today I did some Zumba combined with a plank workout at home. Tomorrow is salsa plus biking to the bike repair shop for a missing screw.

Hi everyone! I haven't checked in for a while but you ladies have been on mind recently! I needed a break from bc this summer. A summer to forget the hell of the summer before.

I spent my summer running, yoga and swimming at the lake. I had a great summer enjoying my time off at the lake, and spending time with my family and friends. I called it "My Best Summer Ever" and it was wonderful! I am back to work now and this fall I am adding some spin classes and HIIT workouts to my schedule! This Sunday I am doing a Dri Tri...running, biking and rowing instead of swimming! It is raising funds for a local group that sends care packages to breast cancer patients nationwide. I received one of their packages after my diagnosis and it had such a positive impact on me I try to participate in as many of their fundraisers as I can. Starting Oct 1at I committed myself to a 31day run streak. I promised myself I would run every day and to not break a promise to myself! This will be done in recognition of breast cancer and also my sister in law/ best friend that we lost 1 yr ago on Oct 8th after her 10 month fight of pancreatic cancer. I think back to last Oct..losing Kim while I was fighting my own battle. It was a very dark month and this year I want to celebrate her life and my own survivorship. Running is the perfect way to do this!

Today I am going to spin with friend and will run at least 2 or 3 miles to keep my streak alive!

Hope to check in here often again..miss hearing about your ladies adventures.

Edited to add I also had my oopherectomy the begining of June and switched to Armidex...so far so good but the long term side effects worry me!

Hi all have taken a couple of rest days, monday I was just plain tired and yesterday had to deal with a broken window in my office, we think maybe a skateboard hit it as we have a lot of young boys around my work as Volcom the big clothing manufacturer and skatebpard sponsor is next door, there was no rock or bullet or any blood so that is the only other thing we can come up with, a kid flipping and the skateboard came out from under him the thing is my laptop and ipad were just sitting on my desk in plain sight so I think whatever happened they just took off, then after I got that handled I had to go help a friend pack boxes with catalogs and just standing on my feet for hours I just couldn't bring myself to hit the gym so I just put my feet up instead, apart from those two days I have been doing my classes and keeping up.

Runnermum glad to see you again. LB isn't it wonderful when you find a teacher who sets your soul on fire. Mommy it's hard to ask for help si I know your MIL is really appreciative of all your hard work. Enjoy your time in London Claire.

My intention is to go to the gym tonight but unsure if I will do Body Combat or RPM I'll just see how I feel as the day goes on.

Runnermum, great to see you again. I have been thinking about you.

It is a nasty, rainy, VERY windy day; so most of the WWW ladies walked inside. It is the local college's homecoming week so we headed to their cafeteria for breakfast and a photo shoot (college's serve A LOT better food now than in my days!). I'll do Dance2Fit tonight.

Runnermum, enjoyed reading of your summer and I too am glad to see you posting. Cheryl, you are probably right about it being a skateboard. New release #82 is quite a core workout - have you tried it? Jaboo, yup lots lying down and Pilates has so much to choose from too. Covered a few classes yesterday with my own and feel it today. I'm on my final week of yoga teacher training on the 20th and need to lesson plan a 1 hour class to teach - that is my final. The slow recovery of this bulging L3 disc is a drag.

Cheryl - how annoying! Glad they just ran off rather than taking anything. Lilac - hope you continue to heal from that disc. Ruth - brrrrr.

    Strength circuit this morning.

It’s DH’s big Six-Oh today so will go out for a nice dinner tonight, with birthday cake for dessert. Yum!

Nats, tell DH Happy Birthday and enjoy that cake. I would say bring me a slice next week but we will be eating enough so I'll pass this time!

1 hour pickleball at 85 degrees this morning. Now doing laundry and pulling out 'suggestions' for Nashville. Can't wait. Ladies, there's still room in our condos so make those last minute plans and join us!

    Later sculpted friends.

It was 21 degrees this morning & a couple inches of snow is predicted for tonight. Boo Hoo!

Oh Falconer you are kind and generous - wish you were here to run this class by. Mary, 60 is the new 40 at least that is what I keep telling myself - Happy Birthday to DH. Feeling knackered and old this morning. Why wouldn't I as we woke to a dog who pissed all over the back of the kitchen floor. Hate cleaning that up before first cup of joe., mumble, mumble. Working on final lesson plan with spare time available this am. Pilates at noon and seated tai chi at 2pm. Sunny, fresh autumn morning here in the hinterlands of Kent. Wishful thinking perhaps, yet, one can hope that Kavanaugh will not be confirmed.

I'm having such a hard time getting in my exercise. Due to family needs, I can't go right after work. That means I need to get a plan for shopping/cooking/dinner then go back out to work out. I don't feel like my vision is good at night, and that I think stops me now that it turns to night so early. I'm getting plenty of steps in every day. Just trying to place some moderately intense exercise into my plan. Anyone have tricks to solve the shopping/cooking/eating conundrum? I find that managing to family meals to be one of the worSt jobs!

I've been out of touch this past week. Had a busy work schedule plus my mother is visiting. I'm doing a 5K tomorrow morning with my 83 year old mother. My mother isn't able to run so I will walk the 5K with her. She will be 84 December 2nd. Hope to hell I've inherited her good genes.

Grrr! I had a post all typed out and lost it somehow.

Lilac - how annoying to wake up and have to clean up after the dog. Is he old or just lazy? I've had both kinds. Fortunately our current pupper Mikey is a good boy so far, but at age 14 I know what's coming.

2Fun - agree that meal planning is the worst!

Jo - impressed your mom can walk a 5k at her age. A goal to shoot for!

Cool weather this morning so DH and I went for a mountain hike. Its kind of nice getting my hiking legs back into shape. Spent the rest of the day doing laundry and getting ready for the big Nashville trip!

Anyone a Nora Roberts/J. D. Robb fan? I had my hair highlighted this week, and realized that my new hair salon building is literally next door to her B&B and across from her bookstore. She's quite the local celebrity! I was early for my appointment so had a chance to knock around the store for a bit. It was fun. Apparently she does signings there regularly. I like the J. D. Robb mystery series - they're a fun escape.

Today was my last Friday working flexing my days for all my holidays!! And I'm tired. Happy to get to get back to a "normal" schedule.

I got an email from my gf last night.....her son passed away in August...I don't know any details other than he is in his late 50s. My heart breaks for her. We are getting together Sunday for coffee. I haven't seen her since I left for Israel. When I got back to go back to work and then all the holidays. I think I'll bring her a plant. She is a retired teacher - mastered kdg teacher for 30 years, then she subbed for 20 years. We worked together when she started subbing in my building many years ago. I can't imagine the pain she is going through. So many losses lately.

The weather is changing - rain and 50s over the next few days - the mountains will probably get snow. I'm ready for autumn....just don't like when we go from summer to winter!

Shabbat dinner is about down....now just need to clean up the pots and pans and scrub my cooktop.

    Have a good week-end.

2FUN, I hate the meal thing too. When I was working, I found if I planned out the whole week's menu before I bought groceries, things went better. I tried to do slow cooker things, a meat whose leftovers could be thrown into a hotdish the next day, things that could be made ahead etc. etc. (Notice I bolded the word if, because I wan't very good about practicing what I preach, and now that I'm retired, I am even worse!).

Jo, how cool to be doing a walk with your mother. That is awesome!

Lilac, as a person who cleaned up after a very bad cat for years, I feel your pain (if it makes you feel any better, cat pee is much worse smelling than dog pee).

Nats, I am a fan of all book stores!

Karen, I am so sorry about your friend. It will be good to spend some time with her.

We DID get a couple of inches of snow last night. The ground is warm enough that it melted during the day, but YUCK!! I did my last day of school for awhile; came home did a toning DVD and walked on the dreadmill. I'm listening to the high school's football game on the radio right now. It is too crummy outside to be sitting on cold, wet bleachers unless your own personal kid is playing!
