Mickey - It was an electrical glitch which caused my car to shut down. It took several hours on different diagnostic machines to diagnose the problem. All mechanics are not Crooks. Once the problem was diagnosed it was fixed within 1 hour. I was still expecting to pay several hundred dollars because the diagnostic machines are very expensive and labor hours. My mechanic / owner inform me I've been such a good customer throughout the years that he was not charging me today. PS: he does not know I have cancer. So it wasn't a Pity gift. Now I will pay it forward. Tonight I'm running 5 miles. I haven't done any serious exercise in 3 days so now it's time to kick it up tonight.

    Good Morning!!

Great job on the exercise and workouts ladies!

Yesterday I did 60 min of strength and HIIT workouts. Today I have a dentist appt immediately after work and then meeting my sister in laws for pedis for our trip. Not sure I will get to gym after. Hoping to get there and run or bike a bit.

I signed up for an online running program this year. I have used this groups training plans and programs for several years now. 1 year of running workouts, plans, strength training, motivation and online coaching. Very excited to stay consistent with this program and accomplish some running goals I have set for 2019! I turned 48 last month and there are a few things I hope to accomplish by the time I I am the big 5-0! Its very motivating!

Jo wearing one of my tops from gone for a run today and thought of you!

Is anyone else taking part in Yoga By Adrienne's New Year program Dedicate? Its on youtube. Super convenient and easy to follow. Awesome for beginners! Holding to restart the program from beginning during vacation and continue when we get home. I didn't get off to a good start with having the flu last week.

Have a great day all! Stay warm to all in the bitter cold today and in the coming days!

Vag & Jo..Not an app. An online running program with a website and Facebook community page where you get your materials, plans, motivation from other runners, etc.. $160 for 12 months. U can begin at any time...most began in Jan. But if u join Feb 1 your membership would be good thru Feb 1 of next year.

Name of program is Many Happy Miles. If you go on Another Mother Runner website you can find more info and sign up. after you have signed up and paid you get the programs nd plans and can be added to Facebook page. For women of all levels, ages, etc and you do Not need to be a mother to join!! Loving it so far but I have done MANY of their training programs over the years! Great community!!

Getting caught up with everyone's posts. Dh's aunt is now in a skilled nursing facility to gain back her strength. Visited her today and also visited my friend who got out of the hospital last week. She's slowly getting better with her delirium.

    Walked/ran yesterday and today.

Checking in and like reading what every is up to. Been keeping my head down, classes and working on a fund raising quiz night with pink ribbon pilates for early February. Wonderland, glad your Dh aunt is getting the care she needs and that your friend is coming out of her muddled state. Have a terrific weekend everyone!

Jo - glad your car situation turned out so well! Will definitely try the Dedicate yoga class. My niece does an online program and really loves it! I have to keep mileage to 12-13 miles a week or the knees start acting up. So past 2 years put more emphasis on weights which I'm enjoying.

Yesterday ran 3 and did weights. Doctor's appt this morning and then work. Snow is expected around here over the weekend, so may use my Xcountry skis. Something called the polar vortex is heading our way and snow predictions for the remainder of the winter are higher than ususal.

I will go to Aqua Zumba this morning (even though the wind chill is so low that even the thought of getting to and from the pool is unappealing). I'm subbing again this afternoon.

Runner- thanks for the info! I love to run and want to get back to it!

Wonderland - glad your dh aunt is getting settled and your friend is on the mend. Looks like there's more cold weather coming our way again!

Ruth- when it's cold I don't even like getting out of a hot shower at home! Brrr! On getting out of a pool and walking to a locker!

MOmmy- Hope you get some relief soon with the arthritis soon!

Jo-glad you got your wheels back!

LilacBlue-you are always so busy! Always making a difference to!

Good that your back in the CRV Jo (I crashed my CRV into a delivery van on NYE and returned on Wedneday - fixed - next!) and a link for you about stair climbing snacks (really, climbing stairs is a snack(?) eating vegan chocolate here on the sofa is my idea of a snack!) : http://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/10.1139/apnm-2018-0675#.XEI-y1z7RPb Vargadoll, you my dear are incredible with what you have going on with family- keeping all the plates spinning and look totally hot (from the photo that Ruth posted when she visited you - wow!).

I dare say it's getting colder than a witches tit here, although not as cold as our SD women have shared. Fessing up - I'm a wimp as she types with with fan space heater blowing hot air on her cankles!

lilacblue- I read part of the article stair climbing as a snack. Unfortunately you have to pay $30 to access the whole article. Keep up the good work with your fundraising.

It does feel really good to have my wheels back. I have a 5K run tomorrow morning at Jungle Island. I'm looking forward to it cuz it also comes with a free pass to visit the exhibits. It's usually a $54 admission so I might actually take them up on it and spend an hour or two looking at the animals. I'll shower and go to work afterwards. Starting work at 11 won't kill me.

I saw the the weather report tonight and it looks like a lot of you are going to get some nasty weather. Unfortunately we are expecting cooler weather on Sunday or Monday. It's going to hit the low sixties here with sun. Our meteorologists have been preparing us for this cooler weather. I'm looking forward to it.

Ruth- there isn't any way I would get in and out of a swimming pool as cold as it is in South Dakota. You are amazing. Maybe a little crazy. LOL

Varga- hope your body Groove DVD lives up to your expectations.

I'm back to watching the Australian Open. I'm a tennis fanatic. I am a horrible tennis player but I do love the game.

No, no, no, jo.....the pool itself is INDOORS. It's just getting there and back that's cold. I may be crazy, but not that crazy! Loopy

Lilac, Varga is totally hot (and totally nice, which is even better)!!!!! Happy

we are supposed to get 2 feet of snow by Monday am. DH is insisting on going to a college hockey game on sat night, 2 hrs from home while having a blizzard. So now I'm packing emergency supplies in case we get stuck. We paid for the tickets....wish we would just stay home!

Love reading these post very encouraging. I love that picture, reminds me of growing up in Ottawa Ontario, very cold and we always had to plug the car in and still often did not start.

I read the stair climbing snacks article so did three flights yesterday, no much but i was winded. I walk jogged 5 km x 2 this week slow but steady :). I am having some issues with fatigue so i am proud i pushed past it. I am waiting to hear back from doctor as I have to have a biopsy of endometrium ( not on tamoxifen) not thrilled about that. Lung damage, chronic cough a pain but i feel it is very important to exercise. I have been going to PT for my hip, all the exercises she gives me i do diligently everyday.

I have done the walk run online programs before and was great, did my first 5 k in my 40's. I had forgotten about them, thanks for the reminder i need to do one now for people in their 50's however the thought of a jog this weekend is far from my mind as it is to be minus 30 degrees. I will stay indoors lol except brief dog walks. On Sunday I am hosting a baby shower for my daughter in law, i will be a grandma in 2 months time. These things stress me out, cant wait til it is over lol. I read an article this week, it was actually from 2016, stating jogging is better than walking for breast cancer survival, this is why i am trying to add more jogging into my mix. Any exercise is good though.

Keep up the great work, always open to ideas.

nan- I love the snow pictures. Congrats on being a grandmother

Ruth- I'm glad you're swimming in an indoor pool. I thought you had lost your mind. I'm still impressed LOL

Ran a 5k at Jungle Island this morning. Absolutely gorgeous weather. 70 degrees and sunny. I was going to hang around and spend the morning looking at the animal exhibits. Unfortunately Jungle Island isn't going to open until 10 am. I didn't want to hang around for an hour and a half. Time to shower and go to work.

    Awesome, jo!

I am off to Yoga in about 2 minutes, and then have a very busy day planned. My favorite boutique has a winter blow-out sale, two college basketball games in the afternoon, and a suprise birthday party to attend in the evening. Signing off to get my Zen on. Happy Saturday!

Adorable pic, Jo! Very hard to imagine how warm it is there in conrast with the cold here.

Going to run today and then hole up for the snow storm coming tonight. Hopefully will not lose power so we get to watch the playoff games tomorrow and root for the team everyone loves to hate!

Runnermum, I love Adrienne for yoga. That is a good reminder to check her out.

I have kept busy doing short walks this week and trying to do more weights in the evenings. We are in the snow band of Harper or whoever it is - thankfully not the worst area (2Fun and Mickey, I'm talking about you) but have about 10 or 11 inches this morning so I am about to get out and shovel. I will use the snowblower today but already had to shovel the old fashioned way on the deck and in the back yard for the short-legged dog who decided he needed to go out at 4:51 this am!

No run or workout today. Had a spray tan appt this morning and forgot I need to wait 8hrs before sweating or showering. Will get something done this evening before bed.

    Congrats Jo!! 😊

Awww Ruth...my favorite street in my hometown. Love Broadway at night in the winter especially with the snow and the lights. It's beautiful. Our favorite restaurant is down there. Have you been to The Boiler Room before?
