Four miles of walking yesterday: to radiation and back and then around the neighborhood for coffee and fresh air....

Zumba and Yoga this morning. Yesterday DH & I bundled up and took the puppies on a Field Trip. We wanted to check out one of the two dams that protect our town, where the water is much too high (the Army Core of Engineers is pushing as much water as possible through before freeze up to try to minimize flooding in the spring). Here's Taz looking out at a road we usually drive down to get to our favorite walking place.

Here we are on the deck of the Marina. Those rocks lead down to some fish cleaning houses, a road, a beach, and some docks......all of which are under water (except the docks which were pulled out). Yikes!

Got 30 min of weights in and ran 3 miles in 40* and a drizzle yesterday after work but the drizzle turned to snow and a cold wind overnight so happy today my plan is restorative yoga inside!

Heidi: Fabulous pictures of you and your precious dog!
Ruth: Yikes is right! Hard to imagine there's a road, beach, fish cleaning houses, and some docks in the last picture. Cute doggies!
I raked and hauled leaves for 2 hours yesterday then went for my walk/run. Today I mowed for 90 minutes. Trying to get up as many leaves that we can before it rains again.

Didn't get a walk in this morning as I decided to make banana chocolate chip walnut muffins after I showered to take to my meeting this morning. i had plan to make them last night, but I spent over 2 hours writing reports. I've written reports or other paperwork for work every night this week I really try not to do work at home, but I had 5 IEP meetings this week - one yesterday, two today and two scheduled for tomorrow. Did my best to write reports at work, but just plain range out of time. Walked at lunch and froze!! Another late night getting home from work - almost 5:30 so no walk before dinner. DH and I were all set to walk after dinner but it is drizzling freezing rain - no thank you. I have almost 9K, so I need to do some walking around the house.
I'm officially on Thanksgiving vacation since i don't work Fridays. I'm really looking forward to having time in the house. Also plan to meet a couple girlfriends for "coffee" or walks.
Best get moving! Sweet dreams

I fell asleep before I could exercise.

IAmACat, sometimes that's what your body needs.
No workout for me today, I had the arm tumor re-excised yesterday and not only did my dr say take the day off, it hurts. So I'm reluctantly taking the day off. Should be good to go for a nice run Saturday.
Oh and Karen1956, you sent us your weather (I am in Kansas City). Thanks?

Got . a couple inches of snow and with the freezing drizzle last night the roads are a mess this morning. Good thing I don't have to be anywhere, though i want to run a couple errands but i can wait till 'rush hour' is over.
Shoveled the driveway this morning (though I probably could have left it - but its exercise) and a nice walk. I love walking with fresh snow and its quiet out. So peaceful. 6100 steps!
Going to do work in the house - it could use a good dusting!! Also need to move stuff around in the garage so there is more room to get in and out of the cars - but too cold today.
Stay warm everyone.

Aqua Zumba this morning. It is pretty nice here so I'll probably walk the dogs this afternoon.
Speaking of 'pretty nice' at least some of you will relate to this:

I haven't been here in a while! Marching Band season is officially over and my schedule should settle down.
I have been gone to the yoga class for cancer patients for several weeks now. I'm really enjoying it. I am planning on getting back to some of my exercise DVD'S now that my schedule is not as busy. I have had 2 weeks of no so good doctor visits. I had my eyes checked and I was diagnosed with glaucoma. No one in my family has ever had it. I go Monday for my visual field test and get my treatment plan. I had a transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound last week. I have a fibroid that has gotten bigger and either have an abscessed ovary or a cyst. The ultrasound wasn't clear enough to tell exactly what is going on. I have an appointment with a OBGYN in 2 weeks. That's the earliest I could get an appointment. It sucks but it is what it is....

So sorry about all the medical stuff going on, Varga. Could you ask to be called earlier if they have a cancellation. Waiting around is the worst!

Ruth- I asked to be put on the cancellation list. This time of year is so busy someone might actually reschedule an appointment.

Varga, sorry about your health woes. Hopefully you get everything under control soon and back to normal.
Karen, I love walking in the fresh snow too. In gray November I actually look forward to some bright white snow.
I was sick all week and struggling to get to work. Finally feel somewhat better and mowed the lawn and raked leaves for over an hour yesterday . Today I went for a walk at the lake, so yes, Lilac, I am still walking at the lake but the wildflowers are all brown and the tall grasses straw colored.
Enjoying the pictures. My dog also likes snow. This was our Halloween snow.

Went to church this morning and getting my girl and 2 grandkids there in time felt like a marathon...lol did manahe to get some yoga in early this morning and lots of steps taking my MIL appliance shopping. Will definitely be at my restoration yoga class in the morning before my visual field eye exam tomorrow.
Two Hobbies- just adorable!!
Ruth- 50?!?! You sent it all our way! We havent made it out of the blue 40's today.
Hope all had a restful Sunday before one of the busiest weeks of the year.

60s today, 40s tomorrow and then the snow starts - forecast is for 8 - 14" in Denver!!! Moved some stuff around in the garage and brought the last end table from my folks...at first told my DH that we put it in the crawl space but as we walk in the house, I said lets put it in the family room. This was my late father's pipe cabinet. It is solid maple and a nice piece. Now we have enough room in the garage without banging car doors against each other and not tripping over stuff getting out of the car. Worked some more in the furnace room - getting rid several of DD#1 college text books (she graduated in 2008) and throwing out some work stuff that I haven't used in years - mostly articles and things from trainings. Still have two boxes of books but will hold on to them till I retire! Still lots more to go through, but I'm making progress.
Met a girl friend late this morning and we sat outside the Starbucks - at first it was chilly but by noon it was toasty in the sun. We always gab forever. Was hoping to meet up with a couple other girlfriends this week, but didn't put things in place. Maybe I can meet one tomorrow. Tuesday is definitely out - not sure what roads will be like Wednesday. But I also want to do some cooking on Wednesday. Quiet Thanksgiving with just DH and I - turkey, stuffing and sweet potatoes - no pies as he just eats a slice and I don't want to eat the rest!!
Errands on the calendar for tomorrow - drop off at Goodwill and another place i donate, bank and a few errands for my DD#2. Hope I remember everything on my list!! Even with a list the other day at Costco, I forgot to get something we needed and one of the reasons I went!
Sweet dreams

Last night, I did not exercise. Tonight, I jogged and walked for an hour.

3K steps cleaning out my bedroom closet!! NO the closet is not that big, just lots of back and forth to the trash and donation bags. Still more to do - lots and lots of beanie babies in 2 plastic bags that I have to decide if I want to keep or donate to the Santa Claus shop - and that doesn't count the ones on my bedroom dresser!!
Off to an appointment and some errands. BBL

Five mile run this morning in California. Now we're going for a hike.

Have been quiet for a couple of weeks...piled under with work. From my adult Sunday School class yesterday, trying to fulfill a gratitude exercise this week, starting each day with saying out load something we are grateful for. Funny, but several of the comics in our local paper seemed to get the memo on this as well...all in tune for Thanksgiving. So... very grateful for this community and my ability to get to 5-6 gym classes each week. Today Yin at lunchtime and off to Core/Barre after school. TT

We got about 8" snow overnight by 6:00am and it's still snowing. Snow is supposed to end by mid afternoon. At almost 8:30 it's 21F. I'm up early - wake up by 5:30 without an alarm. So I went out to shovel the driveway and sidewalk - not so bright and early at 6:00 - it took me 1.5 hours and about 6500K steps. It felt good to be outside. Will definitely get 1 or 2 walks in today. I took pictures but they are on my phone so I'll post them from the phone in another post.
Stay warm and safe.

Yikes Karen, you are getting nailed. They've already cancelled all flights to Denver from our area, and your storm is heading to Minneapolis. Holiday travel is going to be a mess! We are missing this first storm but are in line for the next one which may, or may not, wait until Friday to reach us. We are supposed to go 100 miles south into South Dakota to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with DH's family. We shall see.
POUND this morning. I'll go to Yoda Nidra at noon & an half hour Barre class later in the day.

I'm glad to be in California right now, the Kansas City area is forecast to get severe thunderstorms and hail, the kind of storms we normally get in the spring. I'm very glad we pay for covered parking.
Got in a three mile run today--the Turkey Trot is Thursday so I'll take tomorrow off.
