ruthbru - I got a good laugh out of your post! My raised in Kansas husband goes on a rant when our little southern town gets the idea there might be snow. The last time we had any I finally got to show my son how to sled down a hill, but we didn't have sleds so...cardboard. The cardboard would stop and he'd go sliding down on his belly like a penguin. I sill watch the video for giggles sometimes.

As always, I am thankful for this website and thread. You can always count on support when you come here.

Lol. I love your chart, Ruth! So true.

Got to Zumba on Thanksgiving Day and again on Saturday morning. Then we went and cut down and decorated our Christmas tree.

Expecting Ruth's weather to hit us today and our Holiday Light Parade was moved to next Sunday. Wondering what will happen with school tomorrow and Tuesday...

MartajHope you are feeling better. That's a tough decision.

Put my decorations up outside really quick! It’s cold! Still waiting for the snow!

Got in a 5 mile run this AM. Temps weren't bad--mid-30s--but the wind chill was fierce, dropped it to the low 20s. And it snowed just a bit then turned to sleet. Ah the joys of running in Kansas in December.

Oh yeah, typical panic mode in New England! Hauled my tree down and put it up. Got the lights on it and called it quits on Christmas decorations. Will do the final touches to

Weights today, wind chill was in the teens which makes for fairly unpleasant running.

Falling asleep at the computer!! Waiting for the news to go to bed or I'll be up at 4 am!! We flew to Ohio on Thursday to clean out my late MIL's house - my niece flew in on Friday. We must have put in 50 hours going through the house and throwing out. Next step is estate sale, then put the house on the market. My niece shipped a few boxes of photos, and other momentos, as did my husband and I. I shipped a box of photos to my DD#1, photo books I made for my MIL and she wanted the old doll cradle she played with as a young child. I took pictures of the house, room by room. So many memories - and so sad to say good-bye. There is a small rocking chair I didn't take but now thinking I should have but really have no where to put it. If we lived closer and could have driven we may have taken more things, but then again we don't have room or need more stuff!!! DH and I were up before 5 am as we had a 7:20 flight home. Got home, put my stuff in the house, grabbed my backpack and off to work I went.

edj3, I have a slight amount of chest pain and some skin reddening with mild irritation so far from the radiation. I hope it stays that way and doesn't get worse. I'm sorry you had a hard time exercising with the fatigue. Just when we need exercise, it's hard to do.

So, tonight, I did a full-body, 10 minute stretching routine, 5 45-second sets of back exercises, 8 15-second ab exercise sets, jogged and walked for an hour in 1-minute increments, and finally a full-body, 10 mintue stretching routine while incorporating my old masectomy exercises to stretch out my tight, radiated skin.

The past 2 days, I did not exercise.

3 days ago, I think I jogged and walked for half an hour and did some back exercises. 4 days ago, I think I did something similar, or maybe just stretched. I am thinking the latter since it was Thanksgiving.

Ordered Christmas presents for my US relatives on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Love getting free shipping as it costs an arm and a leg to ship from Europe. And I still can feel good about reducing my carbon footprint. Now I have to get back to the online stores because my niece just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

DH and I visited the Christmas markets in town last Sunday. They were all fully barricaded with police trucks standing by to ward off evil spirits. Not very Christmas-y but beats the alternative.

Karen, clearing up my parent's house will definitely be in the agenda next year. Hearing your description already makes me exhausted.

Iamacat, those mastectomy exercises/stretches are worth doing. Keep it up!

Dogwalking today and maybe a run without the dog.

I'm going to POUND in a few minutes, will do Yoga Nidra at noon, maybe a 30 minute Barre class this evening & probably walk some dogs since it is supposed to be a balmy 35 degrees this afternoon. At some point I need to get serious about Christmas cards, presents etc. etc.

Been using the treadmill the past two days- walking still as my right foot is still tender and I don’t want to injure it.

Ruth, I’m curious about noontime yoga nidra. How does it feel to do that type of deep relaxation in the middle of the day?

Tonight is Swaroopa Restorative yoga for me. Been practicing for fifteen years and that’s a new one. I’ll keep you posted.

    Keep at it everyone

Did yoga this AM followed by a 5k run. Heart is still wonky so I guess I'm glad to be getting those tests.

Martja, just wanted to say hello, I also live in southwestern RI. I was quite surprised when I woke up yesterday morning to snow!

Hello all the rest of my friends here and new people - I have been missing for quite some time, mostly because I am not doing much exercise these days. Broke a bone in my shoulder early September, and it has been a slow recovery for me. Physical therapy twice a week now is helping, just starting to feel strong in that arm again, and my reach is improving, but such slow going, I am quite impatient with my progress! Desperately need to resume walking and exercising the rest of my body.

    Pat01,

Yes it was quite a surprise to see the beautiful snow. Of course I was high on steroids so I snowblowed the driveway. Got yelled at by hubby, but was given ok by oncologist as long as I take it easy. Only 2 more AC plus trial med to go! I'll be finished up with chemo thank the lord the Friday after Christmas. Then on to surgery and radiation. Can't wait for the break in between chemo and surgery. We have a beautiful home on the Manasota Keys in Florida and i'm hoping to get down for at least a week before surgery. My golden retriever loves the snow so we did many walks yesterday. Shorter ones today, I'm a bit tired and have a cold. Take is easy, I'm so tired of being tired. But chemo almost overwith!!! Was going to do yoga today but decided to pass, tomorrow. I love reading all the posts and how people are getting their lives back. I can't wait. Also do you think it is too much to ask Santa for some hair? LOL

first full day in San Diego, walking quite a bit, but got the added bonus that the fitness center in the hotel has 2 live instructor classes each day. Today was yoga and then core/stretch, did both...each was 45 minutes with a 5 minute rest stop in between.

Pat, I too am falling a bit off the exercise wagon this week..but I really don't have a good excuse...other than rain, rain and more rain, which means I am not walking back and forth to my radiation treatments each day. I have to start walking at the mall; here in my temporary California home we do NOT complain about rain, even when it gets to be a bit much!
