What lovely pictures (you'd never know a hurricane was going on!) and what a gorgeous venue. Love the chandiler!

My friend in the Buffalo area lives right on the lake - here is her view!

Celiac: I hope you're friend is safe. That picture is crazy!
Ruth: We were very lucky that Saturday was nothing like the stormy day before. I was praying pretty hard!
Met a friend this afternoon to walk at a park. Going out for dinner tonight. Looking forward to it.

I met a friend for coffee & then went shopping for Thanksgiving Food. I snagged the last 20 pound turkey in the bin so was glad about that. I did an indoor walking DVD this afternoon.
I'm watching the National News about the big storm. Yikes, I guess I better not complain about our 8 inches. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it will be to dig out from that!

Prayers for everyone affected by this unbelievable snow.
Worked in the garden area pulling weeds and getting it ready to "put to sleep" for the winter.

I went to Yoga Strength & did another indoor walking DVD. With the weather being so awful to the east, I don't dare complain about ours!

I got on the treadmill this morning and did two miles in 30 minutes. I put Bolder Boulder (10k) back on my "goals" calendar as a date to shoot for, even though I won't be in Boulder for it this coming year. I wish I didn't hate the treadmill so much (at least I had GBBO holiday today) but the days are so shot and today even though it got to the upper 20s it is WINDY and just feels nasty out.
Also went through about 2/3 of a strength workout with my sister, by FaceTime. So that was good. Still more "choreobics" to do before the end of the day, and made no progresss on the quilt I was determined to finish this weekend. Oh well.
I am roughly 2,500 meters shy of a million logged meters on my rowing erg. Will hit that maybe tomorrow, then Thursday starts the "Holiday Challenge" and I will try for 200,000 meters by Christmas Eve.
I am loving everyone's photos! Wedding looks wonderful! And puppies!!! YAY!!!!

We bundled up & walked the dog this morning. I went to Yoga Strength this afternoon.
Bruno the Devil Dog enjoying the snow!

yesiam: That's impressive rowing! I like your term for chores.
Ruth: I'm sure Bruno was grateful for the walk.
This afternoon dh and I trimmed our 2 big out-of-control camellia bushes. Took over an hour to do. Thinking about cutting down one of them bc it's on the side of a sloop and it's dangerous to trim with the electric trimmers. The sloop is slick bc of the pine needles we put down in the spring and I fear one of us will fall down.

Hi everyone, I too enjoy the photos so much. Wonderland, your daughter's wedding was beautiful. And your Christmas artwork is fantastic. You are so very talented.....and then there is Bruno, the wonder snow dog, what can I say? He is too cute for words.
I am still struggling with a very cranky left hip. I did manage a 3-mile walk with DH yesterday and an hour of line dancing today. I use to line dance four days a week but now only dance twice a week to try and calm the hip. If the PT does not help, it may be a surgery at some point. I am not wanting to lose my exercise time if I don't have too. I am 65 years old and did not think I would be dealing with a nasty hip this soon. So I keep doing my exercises so I get a little stronger either way.
Ok, has anyone heard from Karen? I am very worried. I miss her.

coffeelatte: Sorry about your hip. Hope you don't need hip surgery. I'm friends with Karen on Facebook and she posts things pretty regularly on it. Don't know why she has stopped here. I also miss her. I miss Claire. The last time she posted was right before her trip to Scotland. Hope she's okay. I miss all the friends I've made here but who have stopped posting. This site has lost so many wonderful ladies with the mess they created in March. The mods say something new and exciting is coming in the new year. Meanwhile, members are leaving and not returning.
Walked/ran this afternoon.

I sent Karen a PM & she got back to me that she is okay. I know she was starting a new assignment, so maybe just super busy.
Hope you can get your hip to cooperate, coffee! Although I know several people who've had hip replacement and feel better than they have in years. So at least there are options.
I went to Zumba this morning. Shopped and went on a dog walk. I am hosting Thanksgiving but don't want to start cleaning the house until at least tomorrow or it will just be dirty again by Thursday!
0 -
Ruth: Don't blame you for waiting to clean. Hope you don't have to cook everything AND clean.
Went Thanksgiving grocery shopping today. Many many years ago I went the night before Thanksgiving and made a promise to myself to never do it again. It's freaking crazy busy!
Walked/ran this afternoon.

Chipped ice, bought more groceries, dusted, am washing clothes & will go to Zumba & Yoga tonight. Our weather is cooperating quite nicely for the holiday!

Wonderland - Agree with you about those we have "lost" due to the glitches with the new platform. I stayed away quite awhile as well. Hope more return.
Did my usual mix of Silver Sneakers classes yesterday and today. Cancer Support class (mix of yoga/pilates) on Monday, but nothing else on offer this week due to Thanksgiving "closure".
All set with groceries for the "feast" on Thursday (just the two of us, so pretty easy). Picked up the last item needed, a large organic baguette for the dressing on Sunday. Temp expected to be 60 on Thursday.

The picture is the Wednesday Walking Women this morning. Right now I'm cleaning the house and defrosting a turkey in the sink. Why is it that no matter how early I put ithe bird in the fridge, it still needs the cold water in the sink time?
Happy Almost Thanksgiving! I am very thankful for all of you! This thread has been so helpful to me that I hope we can keep it limping along until when/if they actually get something more user friendly in place. Maybe then some of our old friends will return and new people will join us. Time will tell.

Great picture, Ruth!
I echo everything you wrote.
Walked/ran this afternoon.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving all.
Very grateful for all of you! ... and grateful for another thanksgiving with my now 87.5 y.o. mother...
It was an amazing 61 degrees here today...very happy after the really cold trip I had to DC last week.
When I saw that picture of the snow when I was catching up, my heart dropped, WOW.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving all.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We had a very nice day with lots of food & fun. By the time everything was cleaned up & back in place, I was tired!!! It is forecasted to be 42 & sunny today (which is very nice for North Dakota in late November), so a long dog walk will be in order. I like to put up my Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving, so that is on the 'to do' list. I don't like shopping in crowds so will stay OUT of the stores!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! I did a toning DVD yesterday & hope to get to Yoga today. My Christmas decorating is done! Yea!

TG was a sunny, 63 degree day. Our meal turned out really nice - was able to use some surviving fresh herbs from the garden (rosemary, thyme and sage).
No exercise on TG. Did Silver Sneakers zoom classes yesterday and today. Zumba Gold, Cardio, Yoga on Sat and Classic, Fusion (Pilates/Barre/Yoga combo) and Cardio today.

Celiac: Your Thanksgiving Dinner looks delicious!
Ruth: I hope to start putting out Christmas decorations tomorrow.
Unlike ya'll, I have NOT been active since the day before Thanksgiving. Ate a huge Thanksgiving Dinner with 10 family members. Friday was a lazy day visiting with ds, dd. That night we went to a Light Festival that a local church puts on. The lights are all in the woods and there's also an outside Christmas village. Church members even performed the play "Frozen" in the village. It's so pretty and a great way to start the holiday fun.
Today is dh's birthday but we celebrated yesterday bc ds had to go home later on Saturday. Another huge meal with cake!
I tried to walk today but gave up bc it's windy and gusty making it hard to walk. Plus I don't want any tree parts to fall on me. Tonight we will finish the cake and tomorrow I will walk!
(the red on dd's face is from the lights)

What a fun Christmas Village! Our town always has a Razzle Dazzle Parade Saturday evening after Thanksgiving. I felt too tired to go; but after seeing the pictures from it, I wish I had gone!
Zumba this morning and then started Christmas shopping. I like to do it early to avoid the last minute rush AND so I don't have so much to do if/when the weather gets bad!

I've been Christmas shopping for me lol. The deals are really good. My Fitbit broke where the band connects to the watch. Tried gluing but that didn't work. Looked up online and other people have had the same problem. It is now useless. Sooooo, I picked up my new Apple Watch today! Really like that it can do an ECG since I have A Fib. Also had to buy a new laptop. Mine is 6 years old and lately it has been doing some crazy things and has a mind of its own. I don't need anything big and special in a laptop so I bought a simple one. Merry Christmas to me!
Still need to get my outside Christmas lights out.
Walked/ran today.

Good Grief! The Apple Watch I bought doesn't work with my old Apple iphone. Not sure if I'll return the watch or upgrade my phone. I have an Apple 7 phone so I'm several generations behind lol. It still works fine so I'm not sure what I'll do.
Dh and I rang the Salvation Army bell today for 2 hours. It's getting harder and harder for me to stand in one place with little movement for any length of time. Ugh. My body felt all "locked up."
Came home and walked/ran. That helped!

Yikes on the phone/watch compatibility problems. Always something!
The wind is bitterly cold here & it is a nasty day. I went to Pound this morning & am off to Dance2fit in a few minutes. Shopped, shopped, shopped the rest of the morning & most of the afternoon. I have now been on my computer donating to some charities in my siblings names. We decided to do that instead of giving each other Christmas presents this year & it's Giving Tuesday which means donations are matched or even tripled with some charities!

The icy winds, with a 12 below windchill, puts WWW in a Grinch-like mood!

Pound this morning & Dance2fit tonight.

As always, great picture of WWW.
I have the outside decorations out and most of the inside decorations are in place. Will finish with the inside tomorrow. Next week I’ll buy a tree and decorate it by the end of the week. When I was growing up we decorated our tree Christmas Eve night. When my mom was growing up Santa brought in the decorated tree and they didn’t see it until Christmas morning. A Christmas tree in the house is so peaceful no matter when you decorate it.
Met a friend today for a walk.

When my dad was little, they still put candles on the tree. They had a sliding door between the living room and front parlor that was closed until Christmas Eve. When it was time, the door would be opened revealing the candle-lit tree. Before they opened Christmas presetns. they would march in a circle around the singing "I am so glad each Christmas Eve' in Norwegian. (My grandfather immigrated from Norway as a young adult & his family had that tradition from 'the old country'.)
