Well Ruth, that routine with Bruno seems like it will be a challenge given how active and free he is used to being.

Well, my mom's assisted living facility sent out an email this evening saying they had 4 cases of COVID in the independent living section…so I tested, and I have COVID! yuck!

Three weeks ago the stomach bug went through the place and I got that, now COVID…mom has never had COVID, we kept her at home over the arch of the worst…really hope she doesn't get it.

Current quarantine guidance is … you don't need to quarantine if you are up on your vaccines…just wear a mask, yikes.

I had already cancelled out of tonight's gym class as I wouldn't have liked having a congested person in class…now I will be isolating a bit…working from home tomorrow and then the weekend.

    Stay well/safe. TT

    Oh no, TT, how aggravating!

TT: Hope you recover quickly from your congestion.

Ruth: So happy that you have an answer for Bruno! It's going to be hard to keep him under activity restrictions. But if anyone can do it, you can! Go Bruno! Take the time to heal and you'll be back playing with your relatives soon.

I'm still taking it easy and will be for several more days. Took a nice long nap today with one of my kitty nurses. It's cold and cloudy outside so perfect weather for a long winter's nap.

Yikes TT! We were posting at the same time so I missed your update about you and your mom having Covid. Goodness, I hope you both recover quickly. Healing thoughts go out to both of you.

TT: Hope you and your mother are feeling a little better today. I'm so sorry you both have covid.

Ruth: Hope Bruno's restrictions haven't been to hard on him.

Happy Valentine's Day! May your day be full of Love. I'm still being taken care of by my nurses. Took a shower tonight and afterwards one nurse went immediately back to work.

TT, hope you are feeling better!

Wonderland, glad you have such a devoted nurse,

I organized all the notes & instructions from the vet & made checklists so we make sure we give him his pills at the right time, do his exercises at the right time, get in his short leash walks etc. etc. We also ordered a ramp so he can get into the car for rides (no jumping allowed). I skipped my class to get this all organized, so danced to utube for 45 minutes this afternoon.

Feeling much better today, got a full nights sleep (over 9 hrs) which makes all the difference!

Thanks for all the good thoughts/wishes.

    Love your nurses Wonderland, TT

Glad you are feeling better, TT! Sleep is often the best medicine!

A busy day here, I am trying to convince myself to do some exercise before I crash.

I did some exercises on utube last night. My exercise today was to wash bedding and clean the house.

Got back to the gym today, 3+ days after testing in the clear from the brush with COVID.

We are in the path of the big storm coming east mid-week…every couple of hours the forecast changes from 6-8 to 10-12…but nothing less than the 6-8 over the course of Wed afternoon and all day Thursday. For us, that will be the largest snowfall in …??? maybe 10 years??? Until this winter, we had gone 3 years without measureable snow fall.

This is a very late snow for us, we have already had a week of 60 degree days and the daffodils are coming up!

Wonderland, hope you are continuing on your path back to normal with the aid of your "nurses"

    Take care everyone, TT

Ruth: Hope Bruno has taken well to his new activity levels. I'm sure it's hard on him as he's used to being up and moving.

TT: Goodness! Glad you're getting back to normal. We will be getting snow on Wednesday but nothing like the amount you will get. Weather reports say we may get up to 3 inches. Stay safe!

I actually ran a few quick errands today. Then went to the grocery store in anticipation of the snow. Not many people were there but tomorrow will be a different story.

The weather is crazy all over. We had the coldest day in 5 years. -25 this morning, up to -9 as a high. Frostbite in 4 minutes. Yikes! I stayed home all morning, had a dentist appointment this afternoon, walked around the track at the fitness center & went to HIT.

Bruno is doing really well. It's too cold for him to want to go outside at the moment and his therapy involves treats as rewards!

Today I am getting ready for a little Florida vacation I am taking with 3 friends of 50 years! Since I can rarely get on BCO from my phone, I'm not even going to try. Stay safe & warm, and I will see you in a week!

    Have fun Ruth!

Truth in advertising about my rapid clear covid test…the sad part of that is I must have had covid for days before it was announced at my mother's Assisted Living. Since so many of my co-workers had been sick, I thought I was just next in line for the congestion that was going around.

Good news, my once every three year MRI was yesterday…good report on implant and natural R side. TT

Yea for the good report, TT!

Well, we will be house bound for a couple of days…6 inches of snow and the high today is only in the 20's, yesterday the city asked that we stay off the roads for 3 days! The snow started later yesterday than expected, 12:30pm vs 8am, so I went to visit my mother and had lunch with her…by the time I left we had about an inch and it time to hunker down.

What is really the difference is we don't have the equipment to clear the roads…we don't have snow plow trucks, but simply put a plow on the front of a pick-up truck! When I was growing up in Boston we also had small ATVs with plows on them to plow the sidewalks…and we got back to business pretty quickly.

It will be near to 50 by Sunday and 60 by Tuesday…so hopefully all the daffodils and other early spring flowers will recover.

    Stay safe/warm, TT

    Enjoy the warm temperatures, Ruth.

TT: Congratulations on your good MRI report! Wow - 6 inches of snow! Yesterday very little fell here. This morning the yard started turning white but by the afternoon it was almost all gone. Hope you can get out and about soon.

I walked in the house today.

Got to the gym on Sunday and Monday, but just walking Tuesday and today, too much at work catching up from the snow days…but we are back into the 60's!

Off topic — I don't have to fly anywhere until December (obviously that could change, but I do have tickets and a conference in December in Hawaii!!!!), but flying seems scary right now, too many actual events and way too many close calls.

Hope you are safely home Ruth! TT

I'm on a LONG layover in Chicago and by a miracle am able to log onto BCO. We had a lovely week & I walked the beach every morning, and some afternoons too.

I'm not a nervous flyer, but news about all the accidents and near misses is definitely creepy!

Great picture Ruth! glad you are making your way back home. One of my favorite exercise routines are long walks on the beach…so jealous.

Ten days until our spring break…hope to make a short road trip to Savannah…just 4 days. Hope it works out weather wise and that my mother stays in good health so I can take a break.

Happy Thursday, will get to the gym tonight! TT

Ruth: beautiful picture. Glad you arrived home safely.

TT: Yes, I hope the Savannah trip works out for you. That would be a nice location to enjoy your Spring Break.

I came back yesterday from my 3 nights at the beach with 6 other friends. A couple of them I have known since age 5 and the rest I've known since age 12. Lots of talking, laughing, eating, drinking (although I only drank water in a wine glass), and walking on the beach.

I am finally home! It was sunny and 53 here, which is about 75 degrees warmer than when I left a week ago. Crazy! I've been getting reorganized all day, plus DH & I had a meeting with our investment people, so the only exercise I got was a dog walk. I'm planning on an early night!

Here's a fun picture I took of a happy dog on the beach!

Glad you arrived home to warmer weather, Ruth.

I walked today where I frequently do. Made it a slow walk but very pleased with my heart rate. What would normally take me 40 minutes took me 50 minutes and I'm okay with that!

2 short dog walks was all for me. The 12 hours of being in airports & airplanes caught up with me today. I have a bad neck ache & headache from lugging a backpack around.

Goodness, Ruth. Hope you are feeling better today.

Dh, dd, and I visited our granddaughter yesterday. She's 4 months old and doing everything a 4 month old baby does - smiling, cooing, rolling over. Loved every minute of it!

Walked today. It's been a beautiful, crisp, 45 degree kind of day and it felt wonderful.

Babies are so fun once they start to explore the world!

My neck still really hurt this morning, so I googled exercises for stiff necks & have be doing them throughout the day, plus icing & it seems to have helped. I will try my Zumba class tomorrow, but I think I will skip weight lifting for a few days. Annoying!

Happy Birthday Ruth!!! Hope it has been a fabulous day. And I really hope your neck pain has eased some. Do you think heat would help?

I had a short walk and also pruned back a large azalea that has gotten way too big. That took about an hour. I checked my heart rate during the walk and pruning and all was good! Still taking it easy during the day. My walk is really more like a slow stroll and that's okay with me. The azalea has been bugging me and my plan was to stop if needed but it went fine.

DD's birthday is also today so tonight we had dinner with her and sil. Good times!

Glad you were able to stroll and prune without problems, Wonderland! Happy Birthday to DD!

I had a very nice birthday with even the weather cooperating. It was calm, sunny and 57 degrees! I went to Zumba, did some errands, hung out on the deck with Bruno, read to my 88 year old friend, went on a dog walk, and out to dinner with DH, DS, and DIL. All fun stuff! The exercises have helped my neck a lot & I am both icing & using a heating pad.
