So much crap going around right now. Hope Paxlovid does the trick for your SIL.

So far our friends are okay. We tried to not breathe/cough on them & were outside a lot. But, geez, we were horrible company (although we weren't sick the whole time) and we probably should have volunteered to go stay in a hotel or something……

I also need to make an appointment for Bruno. He's had a limp for way to long. We've been doctoring without success & it just keeps getting worse, so it's time for a specialist.

Ruth: Hope you and dh are feeling somewhat better today. Glad you're home now where you can feel more comfortable while being sick. And I hope you can find out the cause of Brono's limp. I'm sure it hurts you to see him limping and doing everything you can without improvement.

I slow walked today. It was 68 degrees!

We went to the clinic & it's Influenza A, which is surprising since we are both vaccinated and never had a fever or any flu-like symptoms. DH got an ear infection out of it so has some antibiotics & cough medicine. I got some cough medicine, but since I'm not really coughing, I haven't taken any. Maybe before I go to bed. I will lie low the next couple days until I feel perkier, but shouldn't be contagious anymore. We did call & got Bruno an appointment with an orthopedic specialist February 13. Sadness!

I woke up feeling lots better. I didn't exercise (and probably won't until maybe Saturday) but ran around doing errands & got lots done!! It was unusually mild, so among other things, I took both cars through the car wash. It might be awhile before I can do that again!

Ruth: Good to hear you're up to running around and getting things done today. Hope the same is for dh. I brought my car to the car wash on Tuesday. It was looking pretty bad.

Slow walked again today and all went well. It was a chilly 63 degrees.

Saddened by the plane and helicopter cause in DC.

Glad you're taking it easy, Ruth.

Missing Karen, TT, m0mmy. Plus everyone else who occasionally joins here. Hope you are doing okay.

Walked earlier than usual bc rain came in this afternoon.

Gosh, it is quiet around here! I actually got 10,000 steps yesterday (the first time since Monday) & will try for the same today (utube exercise videos). I plan to get back to my regular routine tomorrow (weather permitting, we're in a Winter Weather Advisory starting later today).

love the tiles you have made…they always remind me of the folk art done by Williamsburg artist Nancy Thomas (nancy)

Since I have last updated, two weeks back, my mom's Assisted Living had the stomach bug (they claim they don't have a norovirus diagnosis but it's the same!). Mom gave it to me and DH…I can't remember ever being so sick! Gratefully recovery is quick after 3 days of uck.

School has been in a state of shock with all the government cuts and crises, students who had job offers who now don't, grant for research that have been pulled, alums who have been told not to come to their federal jobs as their agency/office is closing.

January was a very loooong month! Here's hoping for a better February, despite the shadow that the Ground Hog saw😁

Glad you are on the mend, TT! I can't even think about the government situation without wanting to bang my head against the wall & I'm not directly affected (yet).

We got a couple inches of snow, so I shoveled before I went to Zumba. I went back for HIT tonight, and did very little else in-between (not that I don't have a bunch of stuff that needs doing!). It feels good to feel normal again!

TT: Sorry you were so sick and glad it's over for you. Thanks for Nancy Thomas's link. Just beautiful!

Ruth: I'm banging my head right along with you. 😮😶🙁

Unlike Ruth, we are having gorgeous weather. At least for today, that is. It was 76 degrees outside. But I didn't get out and walk. I've been busy painting. I think I'm trying to take my mind off of my ablation procedure on Monday. I have a couple of pre-op things at the hospital on Friday. I'm nervous about it so I've been painting. I also developed a uti (got a prescription for treatment). Used to get them all the time while on Arimidex. Thankful for the medicine but grateful when I took my last one.

Now I need to straighten up the house!

Here are the mini porch leaners. The larger one is 8" x 21". The cat one is for dd bc she got a new cat last month.

Love the bunny cat Wonderland! Well, it's been far too long since I was last here. Ruth nice to see WWW! I've been going through many changes and the biggest was dh's heart transplant on December 18th. He had in been Harefield Hospital in Greater London since March 19 2024 and left hospital on January 16, 2025. Needless to say this has been an enormous life change. We have our house on the market and hope it sells soon. Dh's recovery is slow and he sleeps a far amount as he is rather fatigued from the immunosuppressant drugs he now takes. I've reduced my teaching so my volunteer Pink Ribbon Pilates and Yoga for Cancer class are on hold as is another community class I teach, to be home more yet my gym classes and Parkinson's class are still going. Let's keep at it! Take care, LB,xx

Lilac, so very good to hear from you! Oh my goodness, you have been through a very stressful time! I am glad the heart transplant is behind him. I imagine that recovery will take a long time. Not only from the procedure itself, but being so ill beforehand. Take care of yourself too, Lilac. Being the caretaker is a very hard job! 💓

Wonderland, I have been thinking of you and your upcoming procedure. That will be a good thing to have behind you. I LOVE your bunnies! So cheerful and springy!

I went to Core & Yoga yesterday. Here's the Wednesday Walking Women from this morning. I'm cleaning the house now, and am going to try a new Strength Training class tonight.

LB: I can't imagine what you have been going through, much less what your dh has been going through. So thankful that the surgery is behind him. I looked up Harefield Hospital and obviously he's in the best place for the transplant. My neighbor who lives down the street from me had a heart transplant 25 years ago. He's probably 75 years old now. Please give your dh a HUG from North Carolina. May your house sale quickly.

    Ruth: Great WWW picture.

Like Ruth, I also have been cleaning house today. I called a couple of cleaning services. One didn't call me back. The one that did is expensive. Although they will come in for the first visit and clean the house from top to bottom. That is very tempting and something I'm considering.

I need to hire someone to REALLY clean my house!! I went to HIT this morning & Dance2fit tonight. We are in a very COLD snap. The windchill this morning was 35 BELOW! I am dressing like an Eskimo when I have to go out!

LB so glad to hear your DH finally got the transplant he needed…you started talking about that need and the wait 2 years ago. I'm sure it has been a heartbreaking time and hopefully the transplant having occurred starts a new path for you and your family.

Very busy at school this week, so after going to the gym Mon/Tues have been making myself walk to work as that was going to be the only exercise I would get!

I forgot just how cold January was until I opening up my gas bill for heating our home yesterday…over $450. I don't think I could afford to live where it was that cold all the time, or else I need a better insulated house.

    Happy Friday all, TT

Our January was 'mild' (for North Dakota), but we are now in an extended cold snap. I won't be looking forward to this months heating bill!

I went to mat pilates/stretch this morning & danced around with Marshall Fitness on utube this evening. We are predicted to get 4-8 inches of snow tonight, so we'll see what tomorrow will bring.

Wonderland, thinking of you & your procedure tomorrow.💓 Let us know how it goes!!

I went to Yoga, walked around the track & danced for awhile yesterday. My fitbit informs me that I should take a day off, so I will! 😀

I heard from Wonderland's daughter. She's in recovery and doing well. She expects to spend one night in the hospital.

I went to Zumba this morning & will go to HIT at 5:30. We are under an Extreme Cold Warning. Hard to get motivated to doing anything!

Thank-you Ruth and TT for your caring and kind thoughts. I came home around noon today. Been lounging around in PJs, fluffy robe, and soft throw. My throat is a little scratchy bc I had general anesthesia but I know it will get better. The groin area where the doctor entered a catheter is a little sore but I also know that will get better.

Doctor and I discussed the fact that I was given Adriamycin as part of my chemo regime - I had 4 rounds in 2007. We all know the heart effects from the Red Devil. Also had whole breast radiation on my left side that did pass over part of my heart. He said it didn't matter how long ago the treatments were bc they can cause damage at anytime. I don't know and I will never know if they were factors in my developing afib but I've also thought they were. My brother also has afib so maybe genetics is playing a part??? Who knows. I just know that I hope none of you develop it.

My really good friend is an ICU nurse at the same hospital where I had my ablation. She worked yesterday and brought me a box of delicious donuts.

    My current nurses.

Wonderland, don't beat yourself up about your treatments. You did what you needed to stay alive. I had AC & left side radiation too. Interestingly, I (so far) have been fine, but both of my siblings, who have never had cancer, have heart problems.....which runs heavily in my mom's side of the family.

Great picture and Happy Galentine's Day to all my favorite gals!

Picked up a congestion/cough that is going around, so I am back to walking, don't want to share my cold with anyone at the gym…only wish some of my co-workers felt that same as two of my team were sick and in the office all last week, ugh.

Feel so bad for the folks without power due to the snow storms. We frequently lose power with hurricanes, but those are usually in warmer months so you are miserable but not miserable and cold…that's horrible and dangerous.

Hope your cold is short-lived TT.

We took Bruno to the orthopedic vet today for his limp (which we've been doctoring on for a year). I was very impressed. She poked around, did some xrays & said that he has an Iliopsoas Strain. Which is one muscles that join & run from the underside of the lower spine to the inside of the femur. He now has strict activity restrictions (short leash walks only….even on a leash to go outside to go to the bathroom), no playing, a series of range of motion exercises every day and pain medication. Healing is a minimum of 4-6 weeks. But, at least we have some answers and a plan!

    I'll go to Dance2fit & Yoga tonight.
