They are nice looking but I don't think they come big enough for my girls, even with the chunk they removed
0 -
I wish they made bigger sizes.
My twins are DD also.
0 -
Mine are no longer identical twins - I wish I had at least gotten a similar chunk out of the left - are there no silver linings? Actually, there are, there are so many wonderful women on here.
0 -
Well i shouldnt really used the word twins, because i have a big chunk out too.
Im thinking maybe the other one is whatever comes after DD.
0 -
An F darling, and a damn F. When the fitter brought me one of those I gave her a look that made her go find a DD that would work. The fitter who saw my scars and said "....ewwww".
0 -
The chunk they took from me wasn't especially big. The silver lining - now they're identical!
0 -
That should look really big???????
0 -
chabba - you are a neighbor
I had a 1.5cm tumor and they took out 4.5 x 5 x 2.5 - yikes.
The F - I just didnt' want one that said F - it;s like when you like the dress that is a smaller size better
0 -
Mine was 1.2cm
I dont know how much he took out.
0 -
you have been fine for 5 years now? did you do chemo?
0 -
Yes I did. 4X A/C and 4X Taxol. 1 year Herceptin and radiation.
So far 5 years and 7 months without any problems.
But every little aches pains takes me to the worse places imaginable.

I fear we are going to be in that place of fear for the rest of our lives......

Twila ~ My hormonal Aromasin (no generic yet, keeping my fingers crossed for April 2011 when the patent expires) is pretty good - I still have sweltering sweats that I want to rip off all my clothes & then give-me-all-the-blankets freezing moments. I do get stiff if I sit too long, I can look like an old lady walking but in 1/2 minute I'm great again. I really can't complain & I don't want to scare you. Some gals have no SE's at all & some have much worse. If you have a hard time with one of them, your Onc can switch you to another that could be better for you.
raincity ~ Too funny = "mine are no longer identical twins." My bc side is slightly fuller due to rads; the scar is in the 10:00 outer quadrant just outside the breast close to armpit so breast was untouched by surgery. The other side, HOWEVER, is similar to Meecie's: I have a sinkhole into the scar because I had a very large cyst removed & the surgeon kept removing breast tissue searching for the big C, so that area kinda deflated. Sounds funny saying it like that....but it isn't funny at all. I would say I'm a regular C on one side & a reg B on the other, so bra fits great on one side & loose on the other. HATE bra shopping.
Thinking of you, Michelle. ♥

I know this is getting long, but wanted to tell you all I had a wonderful lunch with a dear, long-time friend of mine today along with shopping after. We had sooooo much fun. We have known each other for 36 years, long before the DH's & kids; used to work together. We, along with our DH's, used to go fishing in Canada together; man, did we have fun!!! Those were the days......... She had 2 DD's & I had 2 DD's.
{{hugs to all}}
Another thought: I do so look forward to coming here each night & talking to all of you.

Valjean - so you and Meece have sinkholes too? I am wondering if that will "fill in" as the BS suggested (surgery was in Aug) or if radiation will change it, as you mention.
I had such an easy surgery experience and I am grateful for that. Can't wait to get through the chemo and rads so I can begin the next phase of life. Totally didn't expect to be doing chemo until that oncotype came in. Oh well, it is what it is.
Honestly, i can't believe I am on a site like this and meeting so many great and supportive ladies. Ok, off to bed for me.....didn't sleep much last night and need to catch up. Yah Ambien refill.

Thanks Mellysu! Looked up the bra and it looks really comfortable. Going for MRI today - I am so nervous. I have to take an ativan so I won't cough (silent reflux symptom) during. I am scheduled for the dye injection on Tues and then lumpectomy and SNB on Wed. Hopefully the MRI won't show anything unexpected! So so nervous - I have to stop that!!!

RCG, the last recon i had done a year ago included micro fat transfer to the sink hole. Some of it took, some did not. Each surgery has been an improvement of sorts. I hate surgery and hate to to trying, but I might try again next year.

Hmmm...wondering if instead of micro fat transfer, they could do macro fat transfer from my butt and stomach area to assist the sinkhole for me.

They have to put in moer than you really need, because some will be reabsorbed. I told the PS to take as much as he needed and then some more. He chuckled, but didn't do it. Darn Ethics!!!

Oakley--It is so ok to be scared. We all are.. My onc tells me that I am not going to die from my BC. That just makes me crazy because then I think "What"s next?
0 -
I like the way my onc put it - he said think of yourself as a car accident. You are not totalled but you need some body work. I used that analogy when asking for some breast improvement in the process and was denied. He said "you weren't a brand new car".

HA raincitygirl...thats funny.... you poor thing.
My onc told to 'Stop worrying, there was nothing I could do. It was out of my hands...He said your in our hands now." I have good docs so thats its OK. The way I look at it... I just show up.

RCG, you need to check with a new PS. A good one knows how to code the insurance requests so it is covered.
The first one I went to took over a month to come back with my "quote" and then wanted over 8k to erpair the one side, that was my out of pocket. The next one has done two surgeries, and I paid 900 out of pocket on one, and zero on the other. That includes hospital, labs, anesthesiologist, the whole shebang!
It's all in the coding ladies.

Welcome Gloria and Sherry!
Melly I tried looking up that coobie.com and it simply showed me a group of alternative web sites for purchasing bras. Mayble you or someone could copy and paste the link into here.
Have my first bilateral mammo scheduled for 1 yr. post partial mast. Scheduled for Nov 23 before I see my breast surgeon. The lady in mammo told me that the radiologist could call over prelim results to the breast surgeon by the time my appointment rolls around later that day. I am so excited and keeping my fingers crossed!!

oakley ~ Keeping good thoughts for you for a clean MRI. I had my dye injection on the same day as my surgery. Had it, went back to pre-op, waited a bit, (pooped a lot! nerves were running rampant!) then was taken into surgery for lumpectomy & SNB.
It is a scary, nerve-wracking time. I will be thinking of you on Tues & Wed. Please keep us posted.
We are here for you.

Thank you Valjean. I did okay yesterday with the MRI - now just waiting. I was able to change my dye injection to the morning of on Wednesday so I won't have to go back twice (so happy about that). I do that at 7:45am and then go 10:30 for the wire to be placed and then 12:30 is the procedure. Just crossing my fingers that the MRI was uneventful! Yes, dealt with the nerve-pooping yesterday and I'm sure there's a lot more of that to come!
Thanks everyone so much!
