Hallelujah on the clean MRI, Michelle! Wonderful news!
I'm weird, I always shuffle through pages of lab reports - good idea on the flashdrive. Now, if I only knew how to do that.

Yay Val and Michelle.

Val...I missed your Mammo result. So very happy♥
I think i will see my regular DR to see if I need a neurologist or whatever DR will check if I have an onset of Alzheimer's or something else..
This not remembering things, words unless I take action right away or write down everything is driving me nuts. In January I see my GP and definitely will discuss this.
Unless this a SE effect of the chemo from 5 years ago.???????
Sorry ladies I keep going on and on but my brain doesn't feel clear.

Shelia - I have the same problem with memory...I also watch too many threads so it takes me any where from 1-3 hours to catch up each day...by the time I am done reading all the posts I have too much information flowing in my head and I keep telling myself I'll make notes next time... I am in awe of so many women on these threads who can keep track of who has what going on when.
Have a good night all!

Michelle..how is your memory outside the threads?
i really thought yesterday was Friday and posted my weight. I know its not a big deal.
I even write notes so when DD comes I can remember what i was gonna ask her.
My mind is preoccupied most of the time

Hi deborye-
I'm kinda new around here, but I saw your recent post regarding CA 27-29. I have read that medications can also affect the results of that test, although I don't know which ones. Might be a question for your MD. I don't think I've ever had it done, but I was only dx'ed 6 week ago with BMX done 3 weeks ago. I guess my time will come.
My fingers are crossed for you to get a satisfactory explanation for why they do a test not considered reliable.

Hello girls!
Val and Michelle - GREAT news!
Sheila - so sorry for the memory thing - I have trouble with that on a regular day to day basis and it's so frustrating!
Just got the word late yesterday that my lymph nodes and margins were clean. Still waiting on further test results to decide course of treatment, but I'm sure if the results are as expected (my hormone levels were tested and were high percentages, etc.) then it will be radiation and tamoxifin for me. Of course all of this will be confirmed after I meet with the medical oncologist which will be on Dec. 6th.
Still feeling uncomfortable and sore, but much better than surgery day on Wed.
Hugs to all of you.

Hi everyone-
I have a question for anyone who has done TE with exchange to permanent implant after BMX. Once the exchange is done, are the permanent implants more confortable? Sleeping comfortably is difficult right now, and I am awake 2-3 times/night. My plastic surgeon did say she put less fluid in last time, but it still took 4-5 days to sleep through the night...now I've just started Arimidex, and that may be contributing to the problem. I don't know for sure.

Love the singing mammogram! Thanks for the laugh.
Sheila, I do remember reading somewhere in all this material on breast cancer I've received, that temporary memory problems can be a side effect of treatment. I can't even remember if it was the chemo, radiation, hormone therapy, or all three that could cause the problems. I just recall thinking, "Great. My memory is bad enough already. That's all I need!"
Good news, oakley! Hope you won't need the chemo. I am so happy that I don't. I have enough stress in my life with a live-in unemployed sister-in-law. Radiation is enough for me to handle. (I begin Nov. 29.) I pray for all who are walking rough roads.

catbill - I have had the exchange to implants and I will tell you it definitely is better than the TEs. Are you getting silicone implants or saline? I have the silicone and they are so much softer than the TEs. You will be amazed at the difference. I know by the time I had my last fill before my exchange things were a little tight for a day or two. If you are in a lot of pain the PS can take some fluid out and go slower with the fills. Do you know when you will be getting the exchange to implants yet?

Susan - I have had some word retrieval issues and I think they started before chemo - my understanding is that I am just a bit overwhelmed. The memory and concentration issues seemed to appear in conjuction with chemo. I can't read a book these days...

So glad for all the good results!!!! Thank you God.
The memory issues are affecting me, too. But, it's also a result of menopause, too!! We're stuck! Ever since I had to stop taking estrogen.....

Wooowhooo Oakley!! No nodes is awesome!!!
I have memory issues all the time, I will have a conversation with my co-worker and the next day I will ask the same questions. I feel bad because it looks like I am not paying attention when in reality I just completely forgot the conversation. I cannot concentrate for very long and have only read one book since my dx (I used to read 3-5 books a week before BC).

Meece - PM me your email and send you the spreadsheet

Now lets put all the reasons for our memory problems together together.
1) Over 50
2) Post menopausal
3) chemo
4) Hormon treatment (for me Femara over 4 years now)
5) shock of the DX itself.
6) susan mentioned radiation too
OMG I fall into all these categories

Thank you Sheila - you have helped me to justify the multitude of reasons that I am currently a bit flaky and forgetful.

Oakley..I'm so happy your nodes and everything else is clean.
susan...Hi and please read the posting limits at the top.
Now I read everybody's post but 10 minutes later I don't remember.
RCG...That's another thing you mentioned difficulty sometimes impossible to remember names or single words.
Sorry I'm complaining but its really frustrating. If we didn't have a spell check I would be totally lost. Thank You for all your patience for reading it.
I do remember Michelle's surgery day its Tuesday the 23rd
((((HUGS TO ALL MY SISTERS)

I thought I was bad until I received an email from the instructor for a class I will be starting - she is teaching a creative writing class and she sure is creative - she states:
- Please check the webisite in the case of in climate weather.
I think I best cancel because I already don't respect her and she has none of our excuses.

Hi don23,
Thanks for the info. I am glad to hear there are better days ahead. I have not officially decided on silicone vs. saline, but I am leaning toward silicone due to the softness factor. I couldn't believe the difference when my PS let me feel each of them. I am on schedule for the exchange at the end of January and I am looking forward to it.

my bother in law works with all kinds of neuro. problems, m.s., stokes, etc. they use computer games to improve memory skills w/ kids, and just what wer'e doing here, posting on a website, for older ple. its a use it or lose it mentality. ive also been doing word search for years now, which is also suppossed to help.
i had issues before from strokes, but chemo really aggravated it all. the search and retreive part of memory loss means you will get better and better. its the search, and not find it stuff thats more challenging.LOL good to see you all....3jays

I am reading these posts and smiling, I start a sentence and then say what was I saying? I guess it is funny in a way. I am so very glad to be over the chemo and just doing herceptin, I could dance.. A little memory loss is okay.
