Morning onestep - your name is so profound - one step at a time is the way to get through this house of horrors ride. Emotionally you have just taken a huge step in starting chemo - the next steps in this phase will not be so bad emotionally and I hope the physical effects are not too bad for you.  When you posted 8 hours ago it was 12.30am for me - it is now 8.30am on Wed 8 Dec.

catbill -  going back to work is a biggie emotionally too.  I vividly remember my first day back after bmx - I was excited to go back but didn't enjoy it for weeks - tired and still sore in places.  Now I am the other way - don't want to go but quite enjoy it when I get there.  Easy does it - I found a 30 min lie down when I got home did wonders for me.

grannyd - wishing you calm and clear thinking as you discuss rads today.

Sheila - Thanks for that.  I find myself in limbo right now.  Finished with rads my waiting to see onc on Monday to find out what is next.  It is kind of frustrating.  The only thing I know for sure is the discussion about Femara.  Really nervous about when further testing will be done.  Just can seem to relax and wait it out.  I am not a good person to have to wait and see.  Some many things going through me head right now.

Have a follow up with rad onc tomorrow afternoon for a skin check.  That is a joke!  Skin got so bad before he paid attention to it in the first place.  This seems like a case of CYA.

Sorry, I'm tired - rough day at work and I feel like I am whining.

    Thanks for listening.

jo as more treatment goes you are done. now you take the Femara or a different one for 5 years.

Follow up mammogram on the BC breast next 6 months after that yearly.

It depends to your DR how often he or she wants to see you.

"outofthebox" Congrats on finishing chemo!!! Woo Hoo....

Deb, I'm praying for you that your blood work will be good come March.

Val, Congrats on good blood work... I'm still praying for your DD that all is well!!! Please let us know ASAP

Rae I hope all turns out well with your DD after the new year.  :)  she is in my prayers.  20 is so young I understand my DD is only 21 just last month.

Granny hope all went well with your rads discussion... Please let us know how that turned out.

Sheila so glad you didn't have macular degeneration or a detached retina or Glaucoma.  What a great relief to know your eyesight is Normal... LOL!!

As for me I saw the Rad Onc yesterday (he is such a weird little man that asks the strangest questions every time I see him).  EWWW!  I had a chest x-ray and blood work drawn and won't likely know the results till a couple of weeks.  They are really bad about not calling me with the results.  He wants me to have a Bone Density test done, why I'm not sure since I'm only 46 and have been taking Tamox less than a year.  But I wouldn't let them schedule the test till I call my insurance company and see if my insurance will pay for the test at 100% if they won't I won't be having it done any time soon due to money.  I mean I'm having the breast reduction done in 2 wks.  Can't afford another test right now that's not necessary.  But back to stupid questions; he asks me how many times a month I do self breast exams... I mean really?  LOL! Too many!! I've had breast cancer o.k.  Then he asks me if I need any refills on my Tamoxifen like my Med Onco didn't give me any... (roll my eyes)! He has got to be the weirdest man ever.  I really don't see why I need to see this doctor ever again.  The only things he does differently than my Med Onc is a chest x-ray yrly and the tumor markers which my Med Onco said was a waste of time.  I wish I could convince myself to not go back without feeling guilty.

O.k. thanks for letting me vent. Hugs to you all!!

    Renee

Renee...good thing I didnt know detached retina meant macular degenaration. You can go blind with that Right?

Too many DR,s for the same thing.

Your Oncologist or your PD can order chest Xray if its needed.

    Hugs

    raeinnz-

I think maybe the nap is a good idea.  I feel like I got more used to my work schedule today, but I am still really tired.  I always forget from year to year that work is a pressure-cooker for the month of December.  Guess I'll go to bed early.  Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow.

    Seyla-

    Glad your eyes are okay.

Hope all the DD's are blessed with good news.

    G'nite

    Well...........

    Frown

My DD sees a surgeon tomorrow morning.

    Cry

From what she learned today, there is a suspicious lump at 12:00, something at 9:00, something at another spot & ~ I think my DD had stopped hearing the nurse that called her at this point ~ something at another spot. All she knows is she sees the surgeon tomorrow.

I'm trying hard to hold it together. I asked her if she wanted me to meet her at the Dr. office (the surgeon is my surgeon as well, very efficient, very nice), but she said no. She would let me know what he has in mind tomorrow after work. I told her to be sure to get a copy of the US report.

My eyes are burning from crying. I know this is just for a biopsy, but still....

She also told me she will not have multiple biopsies, she's got like 6 scars already on that one breast, that she will talk about other possibilities. I know she is thinking MX.

    Damn this despicable bc!!!!!

Please, dear God, don't let it be.......

    not my daughter.....

    please..........Cry

    Sorry. I'll be better tomorrow.

    Sheila,

I'm very happy for your good news re: your eyesight. It is nice to know that you are just "maturing". Kiss Oh, detached retina & macular degeneration are two different things.

    Blessings to all.

Val...I will be waiting with you tomorrow.

For some reason Daughters don't want their mothers to be with them in DR's Office during crisis. They think we could loose it and make a scene. I try to understand MY DD.

With my case I chose not my DD#1 involved. She came once to the surgeon and I was more worried about her than myself.

I'm sure your daughter is thinking the same way.

Meantime we wait and hope for a good news.

Maybe she got to a point where she is thinking enough is enough i don't want my girls anymore.

    We wait and wait................

    Hugs to my sister/friend ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I have a question for any of you who had a drain after a lumectomy and node removal - how long did you have the drain? My daughter is on her thrid week. Twice she had fluid removed from the cavity where the tumors were, but this fluid is apparently different.

jo sorry you were having a bad day yesterday, hope today is better for you.  Please let us know how your appt goes.

Sheila so glad you did not have a retina separation.  I had a friend that went through that and not fun.

Valjean-will be praying for you.  I can't imagine what you are feeling.  I just know that when I told my mom I had BC she fell apart.  I know it is a mom thing.  I do not have any daughters, but I worry terribly about my sons.

Valjean - reading your post reminds me to make sure my daughter is vigilant.  It's not bad enough for you to have BC but to be dealing with even a possibility for your daughter seems incredibly unfair.  May this be "nothing" but if it is, I am sure she will handle it the the same grace as her mom.

Hi all, Been a long time since I was on this site. I am a Stage,1 1cm, low grade, 8 year survior.

Elizabeth Edwards died yesterday and I am so sad for her. Everytime someone dies in the news, i start to worry again. I hate to say it, but I may never stop worrying.

My realtionship at that time ended, and I have never had another one.
