A Serenade for New Year's Eve

The old year departed, how swiftly it flew,
‘Tis gone, and with rapture we welcome the new,
I trust a bright morning will dawn on your eyes,
And sun beams unclouded illumine the skies.
Then wake from your slumber, our serenade hear,
I wish you a happy, a happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my wonderful sisters!!!

Welcome to Phyllis, Debbie and anjanita!  There are so many wonderful ladies here that can answer or help with any questions you may have.  I've never met a more loving or supportive group.  As you begin your treatments I send the warmest wishes and prayers that you have little to no side effects.

For those of you questioning whether you made the right decision about your current treatment plan, I did the same thing.  I think that is most likely something that everyone deals with at one point or the other.  I didn't have BMX, I had a partial mastectomy (a little more tissue removed than a lumpectomy) and then radiation and now on Tamoxifen and just recently had breast reconstruction.  If I can help I will be happy to.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! i was out last night, cleaning today. it was a busy new day of the new year... welcome to all the newbies.. what a time of the year to do all this sh  te!!anyway; i had bmx; followed by 4x A/C and a bunch (lost count) of taxotere. they had to titrate the dose of tax. so thast's why so many. Chemo seemed easier after A?C for me, but A?C causes complications if you have MS. No rads necc. 4 me..          3jays

    Happy New Year.

Diagnosed Stage 1B, multi focal in left breast with micrometastasis in lymph node and DCIS in right breast on Feb 2, 2010. Unilateral mastectomy, lumpectomy with reexcision on the other side, TRAM recon, chemo (TCX4) and radiation completed 9.30.2010. Now takingTamoxifen.

Any others out there who are staged 1, instead of a higher stage, as a result the size of one of many tumors?

fotopet, yes, i was changed from 1a to 1c actually, based on change in size - original prediction was an 8mm tumor but changed to 1.5 cm due to a little leg.

I was staged as T1b because of DCIS 7mm also near the IDC 6mm. I had re-excision 2wks after my first surgery to get cleaner margins, the DCIS was not seen on the mammo, MRI or US.  No nodes, no lymphatic/vascular invasion.

Hello.  I've been away for a week and I wanted to get back on line to wish all of you wonderful and strong women and Happy and Healthy 2011 (and beyond, of course).  I am not much of a "New Year's Resolution" kind of person, but I think for this year I am going to try my darndest to eat healthy and exercise regularly.  Not sure if that's the golden ticket, but I do know at the very least I will feel better!  Started radiation therapy today (sort of - the first REAL treatment is tomorrow - this was just a dry-run).  I'm not even nervous.  Seems abnormal of me.

Anyway, thanks thanks thanks and very thankful for all of your advice and pictures and funny stories! Laughing
