Good Morning Ladies - We are in Galveston today - going to explore the Island.  Woke up this morning and it is COLD.  Okay 56 is cold to us.  Anyway, the ship leaves tomorrow afternoon.  I noticed by suitcases are getting heavier each time I pick them up and I hear voices.  Who is in there?  Granny, Sheila, who else?  LOL

Good Morning ladeis.........Nasty day today here in Pa. Rain, rain, go away,  Oh well the bright side it is makes the flowers grown.

Mimi1964.......I worked for a Pharma  company for 15 years, so I know  script drugs can be when it comes to side effects.....I worked in Mkt. Research, so I know how nasty the SE can be, and I also know the Doc's know it too, since they are made well aware of what drugs can and can't do......Good and bad side of the product........Well of course that is if they are listening when the Reps talk about the drug, and what ;it does................Just listen to the commercials, if that doesn't scare the hell out of you nothing will.  I just think you have to be your own advocate for your health.

My mother was a very strong woman. I was an only child.  My father left her when I was born, and she raised me on her own till I was 14 years old when she finally remarried......She had to  be strong for herself and for me......I never wanted for anything, and she cleaned houses for the rich, so I never had to know what a struggle she was having trying to raise me alone........Hard times made her realize how she must fight for everything she wanted............Growing up in a home with a woman like that you become like her....She was the most independent woman I ever knew......She would say to me (even though she knew i was happily married............."never depend on a man for anything", live your life as if tomorrow you could wake up without him.................always have your own bank account, no matter how small, take $1.00 a week from the grocery money, and eventually that will become your nest egg... I did exactly what she told me, and lost my husband when he was 57, to cancer, and till today have made it on my own.  Thank God for her advice.............I have 6 children, 3 of them are girls,,,,52, 51, and 42, and you will never come across more successful, independent women anywhere........I taught them the things my mother taught me, and they are all amazing ........Two of them work for the same Pharma Co.  I worked for....1 an  HR Manager, and the other an Executive Coordinator, the third daughter trains the help in one of the biggest restaurants in a suburban town in Pa...............................They are wonderful mothers, and have raised very successful children, while my youngest still has her children in school, and both are Honor students...............It can be done, you just have to instill good values in them, and make sure, "no", means "no", regardless of how much it hurts you to say it...

My children, and grandchildren both cried with me, and supported me through this whole BC thing, and even with the good prognosis I received, still are by my side encouraging me to do whatever it takes to survive, and I will regardless of what challanges I face...........I have to..........for them, and for all the wonderful ladies here, who are standing side by side with me, and saying "WE HAVE CANCER IT DOES NOT HAVE US"

Ducky - A most inspiring post and so very true.  My Grandmother was one of those independent women.  Orphaned in 1878 at the age of 12, she  with her 15 year old brother stayed on the family homestead and raised their much younger 4 sisters.  The sisters grew up as strong and independent as Grandma.  One was a Lutheran Deaconess, one never married but homesteaded her own place, one became a successful actress and the youngest was in one of Minnisota's first groups of licensed nurses. She raised Mom with that same strength and independence and Mom raised me the same way.  I only wish I had had a daughter so I could have passed the training on to another generation.

Hey Everyone!  I am still here.  Did some shopping and wondering around Galveston Island today.  Had to take a short nap - did not sleep worth a darn last night even with 10mg timed release Melatonin.  I hate hotel beds.

Chabba - Girlfriend - we gotta talk about the cookie crumbs you are getting all over everyone.  They were good though - Thanks!
