Hi all,
Granny - I know how much you love em - but there is a time for everything and everyone and this is time for you. What a wonderful gift of time you have already given >
I made it through the rads practice session. I was sick (like Mimi - had cold/flu symptoms) - hard to tell which is "sick" and which is the "A.I. drug'. but today, I am sure I felt others praying - all my symptoms were gone and I knew I could do the rads without panicking. And I did. Yay!0 -
Thank you all. During this season of thankfulness, I am always reminded how blessed I am to have come this far and to have my family, and wonderful friends like allof you, with me.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Granny you crack me up but you have helped your GD out and it is probably time to go home.
Last week at church they asked us all what we are thankful for and I thought about it and of course I am thankful for my DH and my family but this year I am really thankful for my health.

Ladies, I had my lumpectomy/sentinal node biospy yesterday! Feeling sore, and a little frustrated that I'm right-handed and the cancer was in my right breast, lower outer quadrant. What else can I expect? Trying to manage discomfort with only advil. Any suggestions for healing?
Thank you all for your openess in sharing your stories. God is good!

dlock,
Just be patient with yourself, take it easy and listen to your body so as not to overdo...I tried to increase my protein intake for healing (not sure if it really helps but couldn't hurt)... Hang in there, it does get easier....

dlock - Just take it easy for a few days - be kind to yourself. I had lumpectomy and SNB on a Monday and could have gone back to work on Wed but waiting until I saw my surgeon for a one week followup. I healed fairly quickly.

dlock I had my lump on a Thursday and was back at work on Monday. Take it easy, this is a time to be good to yourself.

dlock, I felt so good after lumpectomy and SNB on 8/30/11, that I paid no heed to the aftercare. I went back to work 7 days later. I could have waited awhile longer.
I had some swelling, and with no drain, there was fluid sloshing for a few days. (smile)
I later developed some lumpiness and tightness in the axillary area (underarm) which surprised me. That is when I started using an ice pack in the car on the way to and from work. I'd get home and change and pamper myself and rest....
So, it took me 2 to 3 weeks to figure out that I needed more aftercare. My advice? Pamper yourself now and do exercises and gentle massage before you find out that you "should have" done it sooner. Best wishes to you for a quick recovery.
To all the Stage I ladies, I was away with no computer-- so just want to join in to wish everyone a peaceful Thanksgiving week end. It is truly a wonderful time of year. Thanks to all for being so supportive.
Hugs,

Ya gotta rest up at the beg.of this road...when the sh&*t hits the fan(not always) you need all the strength you can get....be good to yourself NOW!!!!!huggggggggs K

dlock ~ Welcome. Rest and pamper yourself. This is what your body needs at this time. And, remember, we are here for you. ((gentle hug))
(((((( K ♥ )))))) Hugs!
