Corgi - congrats on the low score.
Sheila - I'm having Herceptin every 3 weeks for a year.
I did okay after my first tx. Some aches and pains all over. The worst part was acid indigestion like I have never had before. Now I'm coming down with a cold. But Christmas Day I felt pretty good and really enjoyed the time with my family. Hope you all had a Great Christmas too.
Granny - hope your friend is doing better.

Judy--when i get the acid real bad i take either the natural peppermint or the natural ginger.most of the times it does work...you might want to keep it handy...i can open my own store her...all different brands even ginger sucking candy...I hope you do feel better.hugs K

K - Thanks, I've been taking the natural Ginger and that does seem to help some. I will try the peppermint. Ironically I'm drinking Peppermint tea as I write this. Thanks for the hugs, Judy

Hi sisters......

Happy Tuesday Stage I Sisters... Gloomy rainy day in my neck of the woods so a good day to stay curled up with the computer and my puppies...
Wishing everyone a great day!

odie sorry your day is gloomy there. We are having a beautiful day. My BF dad past away just before Christmas (had been sick a really long time). Anyway he did not want a funeral and wanted to be cremated so they had a memorial service today at the cemetery. They buried his ashes there. Anyway it was a beautiful day to be outside for the service.

Thanks Sherry but I am glad you had the better weather today all things considered. Besides, it just gave me a good excuse to be lazy .... Were you able to get ahold of your PCP today and get any relief? My husband had cervical fusion last year so I am sympathic to your pain....0
-
Odie yes I went after the memorial service to my PCP and he thinks it is inflamation/arthritic due to my old injury. He put me on a medral pac and said if it is not better in a week to 10 days to give him a call and he will call my MO and talk about an MRI.

Sherry - So glad you were able to get some relief. This constant pain crap sucks. We also have some beautiful weather today. I missed the majority of it since I had to work all day.
Hi Sisters - Hope everyone had a good day.

Can't sleep in tomorrow - rads at 8 AM. But, Thursday....now that's a date to turn off the alarm.
Best wishes for a peaceful week.Joan

Hi Barbara - Good to see you posting. Happy New Year to all my Stage 1 Sisters.
ducky - Have you found the vodka bottle yet? LOL!
0 -
Hey, Jo....................you mean the empty one, or the full one that is ready for New Year's Eve..............
0 -
Would you believe I have never tried drinking vodka? You ladies talk about it so much that I'm wondering if I should give it a try some time...hehe...
0 -
Barb58 - About that vodka....
The pluses and dangers are that it has little taste and blends nicely with juices and champagne We got a gift of organic cucumber flavored vodka and it is refreshing....but I prefer cranberry juice and lime. Martinis used to help me feel content like a purring cat; however, I had one this week and I was asleep in about 10 minutes. So, choose carefully....0 -
Holiday hangover or rads??
My son left last night in the dreadful rain storem....I was up until he took off near midnight... and today I had 8 AM rads.....completely exhausted. I slept 3 hours this afternoon....
I did 22 of 30 rads as of today. I am suddenly soooo pink/red all over the area; and feel sore to the touch. I have an area of major skin damage where skin had been exposed and tanned previously.
I was doing well - now am wondering how I'll get through the next 2 weeks with boosts.I planned a trip to DC Friday since I have a 3-day break from rads....but feel like I'm coming down with something.
Does anyone remember if this is the cumulative effect?0 -
Hi Joan---are you on any of the rads threads?there are the ones that go month by month that are very helpful(suffering together) every sista is wonderful and gives lots of great info on there. You really should check them out...YOU ARE NOT ALONE WITH THIS.
We also have AFTER RADS...last stop!!!!!!
It does get betta,it will get betta,it betta get betta.hugggggggggs K

Joan811, It is definitely cumulative. Just finished #30. Four moore boosts to go. Check out the November rads forum. If you don't have it already, suggest you buy Domeboro astringent at Walgreens or CVS. The soaks help as does hydrocortisone cream, aquphor etc. Good luck

Last year at this time i was doing rads. What a difference a year makes.I was on the Nov.thread but didnt start till dec then jan and feb...those sistas are the best.we all stayed friends as we did tx together.some started exactly with me (within a week) and then the rest came on board later.Knowledge is Power....

Joan - It has been a little over a year since I finished rads and what you are describing is a cumulative effect. It will linger for some time after you are done. Continue using your creams and resting when your body tells you to. Like Granny said, it does get better. Also, I found it most helpful to be on one of the monthly rads threads. I followed one into January even though I was done in Dec. You meet some wonderful ladies and I know I did not want to lost track of them. The short breaks do a world of good and yes, you can make it through the next 2 weeks.

JO and I walked together every day holding hands doing the rads.!!!!!! just be good to yourself...its all about YOU now!!!! dont forget to drink lots of water and cream cream and then cream again!!!!good luck.hugggggs K

Granny - Yes we did and it has brought us so much closer together. I hate it that we had to meet that way but I am sure glad you are in my life.

Granny, Pt & Jo, Thanks for giving your perspectives on the rads. I am on the rads threads, but I brought it up here because I wanted to hear from some of you who finished up. I was going full steam ahead with life; but now my body is screaming for rest, and my skin is deteriorating at a faster rate. I am so glad I can take time off from work these last few weeks. I don't feel like doing much.

Rad ladies................hang in there, you will get through this........we did, and you can too........it isn't easy, but remember it is not a life style, it is only a treatment, which will soon end.............not easy, but doable.............I still feel the fatigue 6 months later, but I'm ok, and you will be too.............hugs.
And the vodka.........always an out.......................hahahahahha

Joan - by the time I got to the boosts after 25 "regular" treatments I was very red & peeling here & there. The 8 additional boosts were pretty tough so I asked if I could have a day between - I had them Mon, Wed, & Fri from then on - it helped me get through them . . . .

Hi everybody....just finished watching Marley & Me...hoping it would change my mood but didn't know the dog was gonna die at the end.
Why am I so sensitive...everything is making me sad.
We lost a Dear Sister today and another sister going to Hospice with 2 young children.....
This has to stop. The Cancer word %&^&*% should be off the Dictionary. I can't stand it.
Sometimes i even feel guilty to be here while young women are loosing their battles...............
What is it we have to do to bring this epidemic to an end What?????????
