bgail84 - My MO does not check things like Vit D levels but my primary doctor will if I ask him to.  In fact, he will test for anything I ask him to.  At least I know I am covered by one of my two docs.  I have found through this journey that it is better to be assertive and ask for the tests and to insist if there is any resistance.

I guess I can't say this enough...be your own advocate.  Doctors don't have all the answers, as I've learned through this journey.  Some weren't even aware of the studies I presented.

I am big believer in Barb's therapy- laying by a pool is therapeutic at all times!

Guess I am Texan in terms of longevity (31 years) but a Michigander in my heart (first 24)...

Laying by a pool in the sun sounds heavenly in the middle of an Ohioan winter!

Some year, I am going to spend my birthday (today) someplace warm and sunny! =)

Barb58....Happy Birthday! Hope it was a great one.

It's been unseasonably warm here too. The roads are crowded with "visitors" from the North thinking they were escaping bad weather when it's been really pretty good everywhere. Last year at this time, Granny you were "liking" the white stuff.... what happened? Hope you're ok from the fall, wondering if you were trying to make a snow angel and not just not telling anyone.

My PCP checks all my bloodwork and if he forgets to write something on the request, I write it in for him.... With copies sent to my house.

Annette - your post about the lying was beautiful. I couldm't agree with Joan more about the fact that I lie every time I use the F word for fine.

    Barb58 - Happy Birthday!

Jo & Kaara, you are so correct - we have to be our own advocate. I have to get my vitamin D level checked.

Sheila888 - love that picture! It is 23 degrees in Chicago and I can only dream about laying out in the sun!

Hugs to alll - Have a wonderful week.

Happy Birthday Barb!  I hope your day was special and filled with fun.

Welcome to the newbies! Sorry you have to join us but glad you found us.

Been a busy weekend for me with lots of errands, laundry & housework..

Annette - I am so touched by your post about your mom as my mom had Alzheimers too. I wish you many more special moments like the other day....Cherish every one. ((hugs))

Granny - I am with you. I love a pretty snowfall if I can enjoy it via the window while I drink my hot chocolate....lol  And why is it, when the weather is bad, I still get the urge to bake cookies?

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead.

What a prolific group....was working on my class plans today while y'all were chatting.
Happy Birthday Barb - loved the BD pix!
Annette, thanks for mentioning NYC....I am so close and will consider...if possible.
mac - I hear you -- when we have BC it seems all the other health issues are pushed to the back.  I have a long list of things to take care of post BC treatment and that should be very soon.  Not fun things, either.  Our BC docs do not really know us and our histories.  Our PCPs do not really know BC.  So it is we who have to bridge that gap and constantly be our own advocates as others have said.  It is exhausting -- and yes, I worry about every ache, pain, and sleepy or sleepless day.  I hope you get some energy -- we need it just to take care of ourselves.
    Good night to all....J

I'm laughing about the word FINE. A certain 12 step group explained that it means Fu%ked up, insecure, neurotic, and emotional. So, if you know the real meaning you can genuinely say 'I'm fine'.

Yes..happy birthday Barb...hope you had a great one!

I woke up this morning and realized that I have absolutely NO doctor appointments this week....yea!!

I'm expecting a visit from my DGD with DGGD and this evening I am having dinner with DD, DGS, and two of my DGD's.  My 19 year old one is leaving for Hawaii to work on an organic farm and build tree houses, so we're giving her a going away dinner.  She'll probably be there for about five months.  She's our earth child, full of peace, love and wellbeing for all.  I will miss her, but glad she is having this experience while she is young.  She's been traveling on her own since she got out of high school.

Other than staying on my diet and supplement plan, and looking into some tamoxifen, I feel like this bc is behind me, and I can begin living a normal life again.  I'm feeling great, and my energy level is almost back to normal, so things are really looking up.

I wish everyone a wonderful day!
