Welcome to our little corner of the world truebff!  As everyone has said all these ladies are wonderful.

Granny have a safe and fun weekend with your family! I will be staying home with mine this weekend as well.  I usually sit with a lady to earn a little extra money but not this weekend.  I am watching the granddaughter that's 3 while her mommy and daddy are away and my hubby works on getting everything ready for the tax lady.  Ugh!!

I'll be at my conference at javits the 1-3 then I am free - last year I walked a million miles it seemed and it was so cool - even rode the staten island ferry so I could feel like a native

annette...i never rode the ferry or did anything in the city..........Embarassed

I heard it in the news that they might change Metro North train arrivals to Penn instead of GCS

i don't know when or if.......Now I'm confused are we meeting before or after the conference? Innocent

Walking is not an issue for me. i can walk miles and miles.....maybe you more knowledgeable people will show me the city.

OMG...I'm sooooo happy can't wait Smile

Only a few days left til Monday, I see on some other threads that some are having surgs on Valentine Day,mx and some exchanges. I will be getting my bmx with TE. I never not wanted to do something this much. Been crying all day. I think the dr should have given me some Xanax or whatever, definitely will need an antidepressant b4 leaving the hospital. Just a little too late for the vaccine or the cryotherapy or the gummy bears. Should I try to be happy the Halsted days are over? I love former Pres Clinton at least he signed us up to make the insurance pay for reconstruction if we want it. I want it. I've had padded underwire bras digging into my ribs for years so if I can endure the TE for a few months and go on to implants that dont dig into my ribs and maybe even go braless. cant imagine..maybe i can try desperately to find a little lemonade with the lemons. I always had lemon boobs and tried to make them look like orange boobs, maybe PS can set me up with grapefruit boobs. Hope they dont wrinkle or ripple...I feel nauseas thinking about my year ahead. i seriously dont wanna do this but I dont think I have a choice with IDC. hugs to all of you, hope health and rainbows are in your future, you were more than brave.

Wished I could go to NY to be with you guys.  I went last May with DH choir trip.  Loved it!!!   I can see you guys calling out at GSC doing the BC flash mob.

Layla,  I hate chemo, but I do love my new boobs.  I went the other way, down in size and I love not wearing a bra if I don't want to.  BC sucks but there are some bright sides like finding such brave, funny souls on these threads that know where you are coming from and don't judge your decisions.  I'm still in treatment too and it will be a long year, but we will come out better and stronger on the other side.

Hi girls!  Do you all have room in the family for one more sister?  My pathology reports came back a couple days ago and Stage 1 it is.  Had my BMX on Jan 31, 2012 with no recon yet...will do that in a few months if all goes well.

    Cool

    mskassie,
    I know there's always room....I'm a newbie last 6 months, and it's like family....(thanks, all)
How are you feeling?  I hope your recovery is going well.  You will find many caring ladies to walk with you on this journey.
Right now, focus on yourself and don't look too far ahead.
    Welcome hug!

Sheila, glad you are back.  I was off all week - working days and nights - leaving home 7 am, back home after 9 pm; four nights in a row for 2 weeks.  No time for anything.  That is done now - just 2 nights a week now and I can handle that.
Am doing the follow up docs last week and next.  The MO office made an appt for blood test monday - it is over 30 miles there - and another appt. on wednesday.  I canceled monday - if they want blood they can take it when i get there.  I do not think they even know that I didn't have chemo.  MO has never spoken to me since telling her NP to prescribe Arimidex for me.  Even when I told the NP that I was having frequent chest spasms, MO never followed up with me.  This will be the last time I see her - am switching.
I am glad to hear I am not the only one who longs to do something exotic...I never plan ahead, but have planned three trips ahead - 2 family based and one just for me.  Details later.....
With or w/o BC, life looks short.
Mimi - good luck with the job search.  Work can be an important part of "normal" for some of us.
Layla, my prayers and best wishes are with you.  There is nothing anyone can say to make you feel "better" ... each of us has been there and right before surgery is the most difficult time.
    We are here for you.
Re: NYC - sounds like you will have to rent out GCS for the day...
Granny - have a great trip and enjoy the kids big and small.
It's the week end .... and a little snow is coming....good excuse to lounge.
    Nite all,

    Joan

Still not sure if there is a *happening* in NYC or it's a private thing...but wishing you all the funnest of virtual/actual fun! (But I will be soooo jealous if there is a flash mob dance and I don't get info on it too!!!)

Layla, sounds like you might be rushing in??  If you don't have enough info, put on the brakes and wait. From your on-this-site diagnosis, it seems like you may have other options???  If not, well damn, but there will still be sex, drugs (sorry-for cancer), and rock n' roll on the other side. I know I'm counting on it. Whatever your case may be, I'm in your pocket. God Speed. And it will be all right. It will get better. Hang onto to us.

I was told it is not really necesarry to take chemo, but I took already first shot. I am ok so far and waiting for hair to fall off. :)
I didn't tell to many persons about my sickness and I already took out of my mind my condition. I try to stay positive and some spiritual readings helped me a lot.

isa - I don't take the coQ10 yet because an integrative women's health physician who did a seminar I attended said it is a powerful antioxidant and may actually interfere with actions of chemo, she recommended starting after chemo done.  I also take zinc L-carnisine 2-3x/day to help with mouth and taste buds on her recommendation.   Also taking L-Glutamine and I take Claritin starting 3 days prior to tx for a week to help with bone pain from the Neulasta shot.  Seems to help.

hawk, it's about 30 degrees here and snowing lightly - best kind, roads clear, everything looks pretty.  I'm afraid your weather is coming my way Surprised
I am going to Buffalo next Sunday so I could be in for a cold shock.

BarbaraA - It is 60 here in deep South Texas.  Expecting rain tomorrow but the first 3 days of the week are going to be in the low 80s.  Gotta love the weather down here.

jo, isn't it crazy how Texas can be all different climates depending on what part of Texas you are in.  It was 29 degrees here this morning. Brrrr... after all those 60, 70, & 80 days we are seeing a bit of winter.

Judy - I have always been told that Texas is a whole other planet and I am beginning to believe that. I have been in Texas since returning from Turkey (was in the Air Force.) in 1989.  I went to San Antonio and then moved to the Rio Grande Valley.
