Granny, hope the little bottle will help keep you calm.... although we'd miss feisty, talkative, loving, Granny that we love to hear from and the one that will be yelling at the top of her lungs in GCS. Cool

Ducky, wow, a year....guess it is time for the mammo....I am six months out and it seems like much more time has passed.  It's exhausting to deal with all that BC brings.  I pray for an uneventful visit for you, and NED.  Go strong!!!
Ducky, are you on A.I. therapy?
I have an appt with both RO and MO on Wednesday.  Then the final check with BS in March.  I wonder what happens after that....I hope it's just "normal life" again for awhile.  Whatever normal is...
Thinking of Layla tonight and lighting a candle....

Meece - I do!  Thanks.  Have an appt with the pain specialist this afternoon to see if I have a pinched nerve in my lower spine.  Everyone is invited to jump in my pockets.

Joan811................yes I am on Femara................(the brand)...........just got back from my BS...........gave me a note for a Mam.......stupid me, I knew I was going to have to have one done, so I should have scheduled it for today right after my BS visit...........(same Breast Center)..........just wasn't thinking, I guess.........at least it would have been done........I have a tendency to delay things, until its convenient for me, and that can lead into waiting too long..........I am so angry with myself for not thinking ahead.................BS said everything is good......I absolutely love this man, and told him today ..........he is the most gentle, kind, soft spoken Doctor I have ever met............Never even considered a 2nd opinion a year ago..............he had me convinced when I first sat and talked with  him............he said to me............."Believe me, you will not die from this cancer".................he was wonderful throughout...........never left anything to anyone else..............whatever needed to be done, he did.............didn't want it, but it was the best experience I have ever had with a Dr.  He is well known in the area, and Head of the Regional Breast Cancer Center, in Delaware County.............................If you have any questions about Femara, feel free to ask.......I have been on it for 7 months.............against my better judgement, but did it.................

I don't post much but I just had to chime in here. I just found out my Oncotype score...it's 9 (YAY!), so hopefully my MO will forego chemo and send me directly on to radiation. I'll meet with him on the 28th. I had my lumpectomy on January 19th and I was fortunate enough to have breezed through that with no problems. I'm set to travel to Australia in September so chemo would have made that very doubtful.

I just want to thank all of you veterans who have been so helpful to newbies like myself. There's no way I would have been able to travel this road as smoothly as it has been without all the great advice and support found here. I have great support here at home, and several friends who have traveled this road as well, but all the wonderful resources I've found here have been a Godsend. Thanks again, everyone!

    Susan

Susan:  Congrats on the good oncotype score...you won't need chemo, as that is considered low risk, and you would not benefit from doing chemo.  Good luck on the rads.

    Happy Valentine's Day!

Back from the pain specialist.  Seems I have 4 areas in my cervical spine that are problematic.  Have some herniated discs  in the C-2 to C-6.  He did 5 trigger point injections of cortisone.  Then had to sit for 15 minutes with a hot pad on.  Will take three days for the cortisone to really kick in.  Have gotten some relief already.  Have to go back in a month.

Thanks everyone for the pocket party.

Woohoo Susan on a low onco score

Kaara-My grandmother lived in the Heights.  It went down for awhile but now the Heights has been coming back and a much better neighborhood.  We lived in a newer neighborhood next to the Heights and fortunately it has always stayed good.  I used to hate to go by my grandmothers old house but now it is nice that things are looking better.

Sherryc:  My ex husband grew up next to the Heights...he went to Regan High School.  That area has turned around and has become a historic area of Houston.  Very nice.  We lived in River Oaks while my Dad was running a radio/record store on Westheimer Blvd, so I went to River Oaks Elementary.  It was a very nice part of town and still is, but we didn't live in one of the big mansions, just a small home.  This was back in the 50's.  The city has really grown since then.
