Must be nice to have 60's we didn't get above 30 today here in Cullman. But not complaining really, we even saw some snow flurries earlier. The first all this year. Tomorrow's high is suppose to be 35. LOL!!

It has been rainy here, but mild in upper 40's low 50's. DH and I planned a cruise to relax and recover from the fun so far. We are sailing out of Tampa to France and flying home. Had to cancel last planned trip due to diagnosis so am looking forward to planning for something other than tx and Dr appt.s.
Hope everyone's weekend goes well. Good luck to those with surgery, tx and Dr appts. this coming week.

Winter came to my house too. 5 below zero this morning. But no snow anywhere. Now that's just odd.

Welcome to the newbies. Sorry you have to join us but note this is the best group of ladies.
Layla - The time before surgery is the worst! I know for me, I expected it to be so much worse than it really was so try to just take one step at a time. Hour by hour, minute by minute if need be. And know that your sisters are here for you.... Hugs!
Jo - fyi, my DH was born on base in Turkey....
Well winter came here too with gusty winds and flurries. Plan to follow Joan's advise and lounge today!

Hello fellow Texans: I was born and raised in Houston, in the old section (inside the loop as they call it now) lived there for 22 years. Two of my children were born in Texas...Houston and Ft. Worth. We left there when I was 23, but once a Texan always a Texan! The last time I was in Houston was for my DS's funeral. I still have cousins that live in Dallas/Denton.

Jo/Sheila - Hubby was born on base in Istanbul. Could have had citizenship there but thankfully his parents signed it away so they Turkish army couldnt draft him upon turning of age.
Layla - Will hang in your pocket early today to help hold your hand during the longest 24 hours and will still be there for you when you wake up tomorrow. HUGS!!!
Course if anyone wants to send fortification such as Margaritas & brownies, they would be appreciated....lol

Welcome newbies. Glad to have you here.
Kaara I was born in Houston and we lived inside the loop. Parents moved when I was a baby as they did not want to raise us kids in the city.
Weather here in Texas has been crazy, visiting my new grandbabies and it has snowed most of the day. Very cold outside and tomorrow is suppose to be 68 go figure.
layla good luck with surgery tomorrow.

odie - I am going for MRI results on Tues afternoon. Don't think I need a pocket party BUT if you gals want to come along and hang out let me know and I will wear somethng with big ones.
FYI - The MRI has nothing to do with BC. My pain specialist - who I am seeing for the nerve damage from rads - now thinks I may have a pinched nerve in my spine. Nerve damage is on the left side - the other is on the right. If it is not one thing, it is another.

Don't forget to bring the brownies Jo0
-
Sheila - Making them right now.0

Throw another Margarita in and I'll be there for that MRI... ha ha
Loved all the funky noises including the one that sounds like the Monkeys running across the top of the tube. Passed the time trying to associate all the sounds with familiar sounds. Distraction isn't bad and helps pass the time.

It's freezing here...just...and windy. Snow flurries.
I do love that warm, dry, sunny weather in TX but I like winter and a little snow, too....
Have a good night, wherever you may be.0 -
JO, thanks for the "beverage" and brownies! Perfect ending to a busy day.
Welcome newbies, great group of ladies here.... fun, and "responsible" all around.
Don't know what the temps are here... I did go out and had to bundle up and got to wear the scarf I got for Xmas.
Jumping in the pockets of those who are going in for tests and dr app't this week I'll bring the coffee.

Samsue, you just reminded me....yesterday I got a package from my high school best friend who has been my rock during all this...only she is in Atlanta and I am in NY. But it doesn't matter....
in the package, a beauitful knit scarf - just perfect for me - and her hote said 'knit with time and love' and it made me cry....so much I couldn't call her - just a txt. That's what really keeps me going - the love of those who really understand and quietly support...like everyone here.
Nite all.0 -
Joan, those are the best loving friends in the world, and you are blessed to have them. I'm so touched for you and your friend.

Sherryc: A fellow Houstonian from inside the loop..nice! I lived off of Harrisburg Blvd, an old neighborhood that is now in a state of decay. In fact, the old homestead that was so beautiful then, I had to have demolished after my DSis passed, because it was being inhabited by crack addicts and becoming a danger. I sold the land to the neighbor next door that helped my mother and uncle for so many years. It makes me sad to go back there and see just a vacant piece of property. So many good memories of family get togethers and good cheer that happened there when I was growing up. I have a painting of the home, done by a friend of the family, so I can keep those memories alive.
