Sheila888, I must say ....love the photo little girl and puppy, the ties on the back of her dress almost look like little angel wings..those 2 must be the joys of life!! Thx for sharing and brightening our day. I got my drains out today..is there a club for that? LOL I am now officially permited to drive.(does the PS know I have a Ty CO #3 tucked away somewhere?...I am saving it in case the fills hurt cause the &(*^% docs here are so stingy with pain meds)

the drs are being watched with the pain meds...some of them give them very freely...of course they dont give them to the ones who really need it.....
we live in a junkie world.
I was at someones house and i used to carry pain killers.someone took all but 1 pill.
I hope you dont need it Layla...hugggs everyon K

Layla woohoo on getting your drains out. I guess I am lucky my MO will give me the pain meds. Glad I have them in case I need them when I have surgery and my TE's

My son's girlfriend is an oncology nurse who is on a leave of absence from nursing because she was "written up" for giving the patients their medications before they were due, when they were screaming in pain.
She said after both her parents died from cancer within a month of each other, she could no longer tolerate the suffering in the cancer wards, so yes, if someone was really in pain she would dose them a little early. I told her I hoped I had a nurse like her if I ever was in that kind of pain.

Kaara - I hope I would have a nurse like her too.
Layla - Congrats on getting your drains out!! Yay!

Seabeal: Loved this "It seems like once again I got caught up in just existing to live instead of living to love." Thanks. (edited to add: I do that a lot (existing to live); I like your phrasing!)

Went to the big city MO today and her recommendations are:
due nothing and don't worry about it ( another you are the only onco score of 1- I have seen)
take the ovaries out
3- lupron shots
Again, I could not commit to having a lupron shot today because I work and need to think and work quickly. I am not sure. Thanks for welcoming me!!! I do appreciate it.

Guess I overdid it on the slopes yesterday, my back and hips hurt so bad today I could hardly walk and slept most of the day on the heating pad. What a wuss and I haven't even had surgery yet or started tx, I guess I better toughen up. The sleeping part seems to be what I've been doing a lot of since the dx. I do have my appoint for next Monday with surgeon and results for MRI and CTs should be in so we can sched the date. I'm working Fri and Sat night so I'll be able to sneak a peek at the CT report (know I probably shouldn't but can't stand the waiting!)
Farmer: So glad you found a way to walk your dogs. I have to Siberian H, age 3 & 4 yr, who are built to pull, but we have put in a lot of work keeping them under control so I hope there are no issues after my surgery. My oldest one has a sixth sense when it comes to children, the elderly or handicap and he is very emphatic with me, its my youngest who sometimes has the mentality of a Texas cheerleader (I can say that since I'm originally from TX). We do have a special belt you can connect their leashes to which comes in handy when you need help being pulled up the mountain.
Eph3_12: I know what you mean (I do that a lot) I swore I would never do that again when I woke up one day and realized how much I missed of my children after working 60+ hours/week. I loved my job but not as much as I loved my kids. It's so easy to get caught up and lose your perspective.

seabeal: Glad you had fun on the slopes...first day is always the toughest when you use muscles you didn't know you had. Been there...done that!

Welcome to all the newbies! Hope you all find as much comfort in these boards as I have. I have no additional words of wisdom as these ladies are the best but wanted to say "hello".
Sheila - I must say I love the picture of the little girl and the dog. Precious!
Annette - You always amaze me with your strength & eloquence. Continue to enjoy the sun on your face girlfriend!
Seabeal - I am so glad you were able to enjoy a day doing something you love that took your mind off things for a bit. May you continue to feel the sun on your face & the wind in your hair too!
Chocolaterocks - Congrats on the low Onco score. I too am pre-menopause but am sentenced to 5 yrs of Tamoxifen. Have also heard rumblings about possibly getting rid of the ovaries but am just not jumping to have another surgery yet as I also need to work. Wishing you the best with whatever treatment direction you take.
Sending group hugs to everyone.

Hi all, sure is hard keeping up here! If I forgot to welcome anyone.......welcome!
My youngest sister just wrote me that she had a mammo callback and is now scheduled for an ultrasound for a "nodular density". She lives far from me, but has been with me every step of the way this past year. She's making very light of this; don't know if it's to calm herself or to not add to my worries. Please send good thoughts her way!

Tina, Sending positive thoughts to your sister. After I was diagnosed both my sisters had to have ultrasounds and biopsies. I was the only positive. Here's hoping its the same for your sister.

Thx hawk,I feel like a free woman now that the Q pain pump is no longer around my neck and the drains are gone and the PS is letting me drive, now if I could just take off this bra that is 7 sizes too small...oh wait a minute those are my TE...wow.....can I take 9 mths kind of like when you have a baby? Kaara I know...my dr said my nurse was left with instructions to give pain pill "as needed" and to just ask for one. I did ask at 7 pm but they were having a Valentine day party and could care less about the patients. The day nurses were great but that night shift just wanted us to sleep so they could party...what a bunch, they are a terrible disgrace to the proud profession of medical care personnel. I think all that pain also contributed to my hysterical behavior at the hosp. Hope everyone is doing good and gets the news they wanna hear!! Have a great week everyone!
