Weather here in Florida has been great...pretty nice for this time of year and not too hot yet. This is why we spend the winters in Florida and the summers in NC..for the climate!
Eye app't went well today. The doc said my vision was slightly better in my left eye (I couldn't really tell) and the fluid had been reduced by about half, so that is good news after only one injection. I have my next one after I get back from vacation in April. Apparently I tolerate the drug well.
Everyone have a wonderful day!

I keep hearing all of you talking about digging in the dirt and playing in your gardens. Have to say I'm envious as the ground here is still frozen with more snow today on top of snow. Hopefully spring will be here in 1 to 2 or 3 months. Love the mountains but I do miss the longer growing season.

aqqq seabal..you can come dig in my dirt anytime:)

Seabeal, a fellow New Mexican! Did you get a bunch of snow in this last snow storm? I'm in Ruidoso and we got just a little bit of snow, but wayyyy too much wind and dirt flying around. I'm ready for summer! Today is the first day of spring, but it sure doesn't feel like it!

It may be the first day of spring, but you would never know it here. 36 degrees, blowing wind and rain. Leaving for Forida the end of the week and can hardly wait to see some sun.0

Hope the weather is great for your trip here ptdreamers!

Okay I am VERY excited because tonight on the nightly news, BIG NEWS: ASPIRIN could prevent cancer and recurrence! Does anyone know how much to take?0
-
ask your doc about taking the aspirin and the dosage. I was told to take 1 regular strength everyday after my colon cancer dx,(breast cancer dx the next year) after doing that for 4 years my onco said I could stop as was not beneficial after all. He never suggested for bc but I sure hope that is true, I will start again if it is!

I can't take aspirin because I'm on Coumadin and aspirin thins the blood too. So it's not for everyone

Just discovered this thread. I found my first lump in 1982. In those days lumpectomies were just beginning to get popular - the doc didn't really trust them so advised me against it. I had a mastectomy with reconstruction.
Then in November of 2011, on the VERY day that I had surgery in 1982, I discovered a lump in the other breast. Same size, same stage, same grade as the other one.
The onc said it was a new primary, not a recurrence. But I was still in shock - I had never worried about a NEW cancer; only about a recurrence. I skipped radiation due to my age, 76, and am thinking of quitting Aromasin due to very bad side effects.

PS In 1982 there was no sentinel node biopsy, so had 17 nodes removed. There were no hormonals either so the only follow-up I had was a yearly blood test to see if my embryonic cancer cells (which everyone has, according to the doc) were increasing in number.
I quit doing the test after about 5 years.

Annettek - Thanks. I may you up on that. After the snow goes then we have to wait for the mud to dry except for last spring which was so dry with a drier summer but I don't need to tell you Texans that. We are originally from Amarillo with kids and grandkids living there and DH worked in Austin after the fire working insurance claims. So sorry for all the destruction this horrible drought is bringing my fellow Texans.
Deb720 - We're almost neighbors, I live between Taos and Angel Fire. Didn't get that much snow just some small flurries and a whole lot of wind. Small flurries and lots of wind leads to big drifts as you know. Went to Santa Fe today to meet with onco and it was cold this morning but warmed up with plenty of sunshine between here and there except at my house.
Judy67 - Let me know if you ever need to visit, we have plenty of beds. I love New Mexico and agree it is beautiful here. I love Texas to, just hated Amarillo (not the people just the town)

I need any information you ladies can offer or experiences regarding implants vs TRAM for reconstruction. Met with the onco for the first time today and he agreed that due to multiple tumor sites with primary 5cm and so far a benign mass in the other breast that BLMX would be a better option vs lumpectomy inregards to reoccurance. Now the big decision (meet with surgeon 4/5 so won't know until then if there will be a choice but want to be prepared) is whether to do implants or TRAM. I had never heard of this procedure until he suggested it but after researching it, it sounds great but would like to know about others experiences both good and bad.
