Hey, this is what we're using over on the Mid-Age thread, to wipe away all the cancer crap of 2009. Bought it in bulk at Sam's. You guys want a roll?
Happy New Year!

If you got it at Sam's I am sure you have plenty to share with all of us. Thank you, you are so generous! And that is the truth, not trying to be funny!

To all my new friends...I am feeling more like myself these days...finally. Hereis something I want to share....
2009 brought compassion from all who cared. It started a journey that should'nt be shared. Lucky for me I have such great friends. They were there at the beginning and up to the end.Being grateful and humbled in something I have learned. Becoming a survivor is something I've earned. I couldn't have done it without all of you. Paying it forward is what I will do. I have angels in heaven and angels on earth. I can't put a value on what that is worth. All my prayers were answered from up above. I could'nt have done it without all the love. I can't wait to get going and back to the norm. I've weathered the worst, I got through the storm. Somethings are better if they are left behind. That's how I feel about 2009.
Cheers to all. Be safe. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!0 -
gcarter,
very nice poem!! Loved it!!
In March, it will be THREE years since my bc journey began. Today, I'm reflecting on everything I've been through in those three years, and I'm very thankful for all the wonderful breast friends I've made, who have all helped me through this experience. I'm feeling pretty good, and I am SO VERY thankful for that!!!
Wishing all my breast friends a very HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!! HAPPY 2010!

I'm Colleen in Pasadena (right next to the Rose Bowl!), and I'm joining your group a few hours before hosting our annual NY Eve dinner. Some thought I should cancel because of what I've been through -- DCIS diagnosis for Halloween, major lumpectomy and reconstruction a week before Christmas, diagnosis yesterday (a total shock) of IDC grade 3+3+3, Her2+. I'm still reeling and scared and disbelieving, not to mentioned worried about my teenagers and my husband and my parents, but if there was ever a time I needed to be with my closest friends, it's tonight, to help ring in a new year that will not bring a lot of fun but will certainly bring good health.
Anyway, this forum has been a great source as I seek knowledge about my new life. Thanks to all.

Happy 2010 to those of you already there! For the rest of us still to have midnight strike, may the waning moments of 2009 be filled with resolve to make 2010 the best yet; may our health be healthier, may we have moments of pure joy and life is what we make and do with it, so let's do it up great! HAPPY NEW YEAR my breast friends!!! Joni

Wow, have I been lazy this week. Haven't posted at all, but wanted to wish everyone Happy New Year. Wish I had Meece's and Sheila's computer skills! Sorry, no neat pictures as I have no idea how to do that! Sue

Between this thread and watching the Rose Parade with the All-blind band and Drill team and this float for Organ & Tissue donations, the tears are back.
We are fortunate women of strength who, ourselves, have risen out of the fire as the phoenix!

Sue....Thank you for the compliment but I dont really have any computer skills.
I googled the images and transfer it here. Thats all I know. If you are interested PM me.
I guide you step by step,
Hi Meece...I watched some of the parade, since I wasnt fully awake didnt notice.

Hey Sheila, I think you and Meece tried to help me with images but I am baffled as I have a MAC, not windows. But thanks anyway.

writer: IDC when you are expecting DCIS is quite a shock. It's out of there and you have time to research what to do next. This is a great source of information and support. You will get through this!
Happy New Year all and thanks for the wonderful clip art -- you all make this such a bright and lively thread.
We celebrated the end of tough year...with hope for a healthy 2010. One year ago today I was packing my chemo bad for my first round on Jan2 -- what a year! But as was said earlier, we do it, we gain strength, we set new priorities, and we get back to life with a new focus and attitude !
Got a lovely bottle of wine from a dear friend -- she said, "I had to make my own card, Hallmark doesn't have what I what I wanted" -- It read, "Dear Kath, F#ck 09!!!! Happy New Year" Indeed!!!!

gcarter- Wow, what a poem, REALLY says it all... I think you should publish it!
Jaimeieh- We have more in common now that you posted your last post... I did not have a full mast, I had partial but I have been fighting seromas and had one infection post surgery and rads... one thing which has really helped, I go to a lymphedema clinic and get massages, finally got diagnosed with truncal LE... the massages have helped the seromas, too!
Ladies, what a wonderful New Year we have in store, like so many of you have said, we have weathered the storm but BC will always remain a part of us... not so much the disease, but what the disease has taught us about ourselves... our capabilities, and to focus on what is most important in life.
CHEERS LADIES!

Happy New Year everyone! I am another Stage 1 sister joining this thread. As we move into the new year, I find myself feeling grateful -- grateful for catching this early, grateful for the great care from awesome doctors and nurses, and grateful for the incredible support and prayers from friends and family.

Karen,
I second that!!!!!

Dear all,
Happy New Year! I haven't posted in a while but have been keeping up with everyone. My DD & family made the 7 hour trip from the U.P. & were here from Tues & left this morning, Jan 1. Was a surprise & it was fabulous.
To me, my "Drink" was reading Good Night Moon to my almost 3-yr old Granddaughter & watching her fall asleep. There ain't nothin' better than that!!
Meece ~ You look so lovely in your new avatar!
debnyc ~ Congrats on finishing Rads!! YAY!!
Welcome writer ~ You certainly are not alone. This is just the BEST place to be!
gcarter ~ Very thoughtful poem. Love it!
Welcome & hugs to Denise & Karen & any other newbies I may have missed.
Sheila ~ Have an onc visit Monday. Hope she doesn't want any further tests except for the usual blood work, have had enough stress lately. Am healing well from the biopsy.
I am so grateful for all of you, you are beautiful inside & out.
May 2010 be our best year of good health & loving families & friends.
TO US !!
hugs,
Valerie

Hey Kimberly, I would need a private lesson on pasting something in the body of the message. Meece tried to help but I didn't understand copying the URL. Duh. I was pretty literate with windows but had the opportunity to buy a used MAC from my daughter's school and like it alot. Except I need intense mac lessons, haha.

Sue-61, PM me sometime when we are both online, and I will walk you through it. We can go to the same sites so you can see what I am seeing, and you will catch on.
