Cmbernardi, I am sorry you are suffering so with the Femara! I pray the pain eases for you.

It's been three weeks since surgery and I've managed to avoid the emergency dept. this week! At my ps appt. this week it was discovered that my tummy incision is opening a little. My belly is swollen so I have to wear a tummy binder. My girls seem to be okay, though.

Bestock, so sorry about your kids. My daughter was hopeful about getting back with her hubby, but now not so much. It just hurts our hearts, doesn't it?

    Blessings to you!

Ladies, thank you so much for all the prayers.  Hospital stay was a waste.  Am now on oxygen for the pleural effusion and tomorrow have the procedure to drain both lungs.  What am I in for?  I also have the dreaded Dr.'s appointment in the afternoon.  Not looking forward to either and am nervous that the cancer may show up in the lungs.  Sounds like several of you have experience in the lung department.  This came out of left field for me.

I think it's time for some warfare prayer sisters.  Watch out when we women pray - we sure can kick some booty with what everyone is struggling with.

Milehighgirl, I had pleural effusion last week at the bottom of my right lung. They talked about testing the fluid (withdrawn through the back somehow) but then decided it wasn't a big deal (excuse me??) and sent me home after spending the night in the hospital. I am happy to say that my lung feels fine now, about nine days later. I hope yours feel better after the aspiration and it turns out to be a simple fix with quick healing. I will sure pray that for you!

So sorry for the problems.  You are soooo correct in your comment about prayer warriors.  You are on my list, it is growing larger.

May God be extra close to you in the coming days.

Praying Milehighgirl! God is right there with you, holding your hand. I'm praying that there is no cancer found in your lungs and that the procedure will be very easy and give you quick relief. I'm praying also for His peace as you go through this ordeal.

Loving all you ladies! Tomorrow, we will head to Eastern NC for my four doctor appointments. I will see my MO on Tuesday along with my OB/GYN (yuck), and the next day see my foot surgeon and PCP. I dread the MO appointment and the lab work. I'm not afraid of needles, but get worked up waiting for lab results. I know that you can all relate to that. I wait for the all-clear, and then breathe easier for three more months - until my next appointment.

On a more positive note, we will be seeing our only grandchild, Erin. She is almost 18 months old. She's talking and walking, and I can't wait to wrap my arms around her. It has been three months since I last saw her, and at that age, they change so quickly. The minute I see her face, my heart is refreshed anew. God has blessed us with this precious little one, and I am so thankful.

I pray you all rest well tonight. Tomorrow is a new day, with grace from Him for each challenge we face.

"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned." Psalm 34:18-22

Thank you all again for your prayers.  I have been at the hospital since 9:00 this morning and am just getting home (nearly 5!).  The procedure was uneventful, except for the fact I'm one of the few people that the numbing shot didn't work, lol.  I felt just about everything - eeeekkk!  Nurses were great though.  I won't know if the fluid has cancer cells in it or not for about a week but of course I'm in no hurry to find out.  I did notice that I could walk across the room and not have to sit down and catch my breath so that's a good sign.

This afternoon I met with the onc.  Am being taken off the faslodex Cry and switched to Xeloda.  NOT looking forward to the dreaded side effects but maybe I'll be surprised.

I'm so glad I found this thread.  I love being able to commiserate with sisters in the faith and know we're all praying for one another.  Kindergarten - isn't VBS the best?  "Come to me as little children".  He was so right!

Jeanne, I'm hoping my turnaround with the pleural effusion will have the same effect as yours.

Rocket, someone in another thread called it "scanxiety".  Until I heard that I thought I was the only goofy one that didn't want to do the scans much less see the results.  You're doing so well we're going to believe that good results will continue.  Spoil that grandbaby well!

    Blessings to all.

I've been off for awhile, but I have had you all on my heart. Having had lung issues and lung surgery, I feel for those of you who are having lung problems. I've always said that people don't realize how much work it is to breathe until you can't; or until it hurts every time you do. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Blessings

Thank you, Mini1, I am feeling much better. Having had pneumonia in Feb. and pleural effusion in July, I am hoping my lungs aren't going to be my weak spot in the future.

Rocket, I hope all of your appts. go very well! You're so blessed to be able to see your granddaughter! I miss mine so much. We're near the Canadian border and she is near the Mexican border so it's difficult. She is 8 years old. She has my DD's old phone so she texts us sometimes which is so fun. We try to FaceTime or talk on the phone but she has to be in the mood!

    Have a blessed weekend, everyone!

My lung issues were years ago. I had trouble for about 5 years afterwards and then they got stronger and have been good since. Hopefully the rads don't affect them in the future.

You all are such a blessing. i just want you to know how much I appreciate the encouragement I find here.

My daughter has opted out of couples' counseling. I am sad but I respect her decision. She has been through so much hurt and doesn't feel she can bear more. I am just so sad for them all.

Jeannie, so sorry your DD is going through this.  It is not uncommon for couples to have extreme difficulties after sufferring so much, loss of children, etc.  I will continue to lift them up in prayer.  Perhaps our dear Lord has other plans and will work it out in a way that will give Him the glory.

Milehigh, hope you get relief quickly.

Everyone, it makes my heart quicken to come here and see that even through all the stressors you still cling to Jesus.  He is our refuge and source of strength.  I am motivated to spend extra time with Him tonight and will lift you all up.

Blessings going out for all my friends.

    Hi Ladies,

I had my onc appointment yesterday and mentioned the unremitting back pain and she is scheduling me for a bone scan. We won't be back to eastern NC until the end of September, so that's when I will have the scan. I have three more doctor appointments today (UGH!) and then we drive home. I confess I was a complete stress case yesterday. I'm doing better today, but the whole scan thing always throws me a curve.

My DH and I took our granddaughter to get her pictures taken this past week. They came out beautiful, and she was such a doll. She didn't cry even once. She talked a blue streak. After the photo shoot, and Nana's overindulgence buying photos, we took her for ice cream. What a precious time we had with her. The photos were an early birthday present from my DH. He couldn't have given me anything sweeter. We got one photo with her and us together. It was just perfect. I was elated for two days afterward!

I pray for each of you, that even amidst your trials you find moments of joy. This past week, I felt such joy! I pray that God will heal your bodies and your hearts with His gracious love and mercy, and that He would bind up your wounds and minister to You the way that only He can.

    Loving you sisters....

Dearest Rocket!! I certainly understand your scanxiety!! I am praying that your other 3 appts go well!!! I will also pray for your upcoming bone scan! Your doctor sounds very conscientious and i am sure it will turn out just fine!!! How wonderful that you and your DH could spend time with your granddaughter! I am sure the pictures are just beautiful!! I absolutely love being a grandmother!! I thank Our Lord every day for Lily and Stevie!!

We are currently on a road trip up to North Dakota, to see our grandson play in the Pony League Baseball World Series!! Our Jeff, Liz, Stevie and Lily are flying there, but we wanted to have a road trip adventure!! We just visited Mt. Rushmore and plan on visiting Yelowstone on the way back!!! We fell so blessed and thankful that we live in such a beautiful country!

Blessings and hugs to all you wonderful Ladies here!! Kathy

Thanks Kathy! We are headed back to Western NC now. My other appointments went well. Although my foot doctor wants me to see a neurologist for the RSD/CRPS problem. I told him I would think about it. It's controlled at the moment, but he wants me to get established with someone in case it gets worse. Thank you for the prayers with respect to the bone scan. Enjoy your precious time with your family. Praying for a safe trip for you. Loving you......

Well Sister Warriors, my life officially begins again this week.  I saw the MO and RO on Monday and they both agree that I am NED (No Evidence of Disease)!   Whooooooo Hooooooooo!  I never heard sweeter words in my 52 years.  Of course I still have joint and muscle pain from the Letrozole (Femara) but I am powering through it by swimming a few times a day,. walking the dog and just trying to keep moving in general.  I have an arsenal of pain meds. but I will ONLY take them PRN.

Now  I have an aggressive goal of buying a home here in North Texas and getting a job within 40 days.  I made an offer on a lovely 3 BR rancher that is not too far from my wonderful Sister's home where I have been living through this unexpected journey with the BC.  I have scheduled the home and termite inspection for tomorrow and expect that it will all go well.  Now the real trick will be to convince an employer that I am the best darn Registered Dietitian and Food Safety Consultant that they will ever encounter.  Wish me luck, send me all the good Karma that you have and PLEASE, keep me in your thoughts and prayers.  I certainly will do the same for all of you.

May the Lord bless you all with less pain and SE's and more happiness and joy in this life's journey!  Peace, Hugs, Love, Prayers and Blessings to All today and everyday in the future.

SUCH WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!  Removes a lot of weight from your shoulders!!!.

Praying that this will continue for you.  Good luck with the new house and job...

Someone posted on the site (sorry, I don't remember who) that they found some relief from the achey joints etc by taking a double dose of Fish Oil Capsules.  I started doing so (had already been taking 1) about 2 weeks ago, I think it does help.

Carolyn, thanks so much for sharing such a wonderful answered prayer!  When God answers, it so encourages us all.  Kathy, I loved Mt. Rushmore - what a terrific trip to be able to see some countryside and the family as well.

Rocket, so glad things went well yesterday.  Loved the photo shoot with the gd.  It's such a great age.

Jeannie, tomorrow will be a week since I had the lung drained.  Today felt like I was having a lot of shortness of breath again.  Did yours come and go before it finally resolved itself?  I really, really don't want to have to go through the procedure again and don't see the doctor for another two weeks.  This is really a pain, ha ha.

    Blessings to all.  Sue

Milehighgirl, I got steadily better with my lung issue but I was left with a little cough. :(( I have a lot of post-nasal drip right now so I am attributing it to that. Of course if it continues I'll have to get it checked. I will pray for you right now! God, in Your mercy, please continue healing our friend. Her lungs need to clear up so she can resume her life. She is trusting You to take care of her as you see fit. Please give her peace and ease her pain. Thank You for Your love and faithfulness. Amen.

Carolyn, what wonderful news! So happy for you. I pray the home buying and job search works out well. Sounds like your life is starting to return to some normalcy. That's awesome!

Milehighgirl, I am praying that our Great Physician will heal your lungs and that an additional procedure wouldn't be needed. He knows exactly what you are going through and is in control of all things. He will NEVER leave or forsake you. I pray His healing mercy will be upon you.

Ladies, I am requesting prayer for my bone scan, which is scheduled for late next month, and for my ability to find a new primary care doctor as mine in Eastern NC is retiring and I need to find one where we now live in Western NC. I have asked around, but not been given any sound recommendations for this area. I need a doctor who will listen and be supportive. I have a host of medical ailments that would drive any reasonable doctor right out of the room. I appreciate your prayers more than you know.

I am lifting all you Ladies and your various concerns to the Throne of Grace. God loves each of us as His children, and He will be our help in times of trouble.

    Loving you....

You might try calling the medical association for that area and see what you can find there, then google the name and see what comments patients have made..

Might be of some help to you.

    Hey Vickie,

Thanks, but I have already done that and haven't found too many great comments. I did select one doctor and made an appointment for October. We'll see how it goes. He seems quite young, and I usually prefer doctors who are a bit older. I'll let The Lord guide and direct me and see what comes of it. Thank you for the advice and your care.

    Good morning all

It is so wonderful to be able to share our prayers for each other.

My request is a bit different than BC.   On the 5th, our daughter (51) was admited to our little local hospital with a hemoglobin of 2.3.  Amazed all the medical staff that she was still alert.  after 7 units of blood, 2 days later was sent home.  Our PC dr. pulled strings and got her into a gynocologic oncologist the following day in Omaha.  After the consult with the specialist, surgery was scheduled for this past Monday, the 12th.  Surgery went well but news isn't so good.  Uterine cancer that has spread to ovaries (they were both 10 times the size they should be).  To make a long story short, she will be needing chemo.  Please add Melody to your prayer lists that God will keep her comfortable as the medical people try to help her heal...Will get the path. reports the 26th.

    THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH>>
