JO-5:  The retina specialist will most likely do scans which are very sensitive and can better diagnose what is happening in her eye.  Good that you are getting away for some relaxation with DD#3.  Sending you prayers for your journey.

Kindergarten:  Thanks for your concern.  The retina specialist says my eye has much improved after two injections.  I can't really tell the difference, but it definitely shows on the scans which he had up on the screen.  The fluid behind the retina has dried up almost completely, so the medication is working.  They say I am reading the eye chart better with my left eye, but I still have distortion when I try at home.  I have another injection the end of May...once a month.  I'm praying this doesn't spread to my good eye, but there's an 80% chance it will.  If it does, I will be right on top of it with the treatment.

Hi, Kaara, I am so glad to hear that there is marked improvement, but I know you must be worried about your other eye, but what a positive attitude you have!!!!! Prayers are coming that your other eye never becomes affected. How long will you have to take the injections? Dear Lord, please lighten everyone's load today!!! Blessings to all!!!!

My colonoscopy was fine, no polyps or cancer! PTL! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

I wish I could say my cholesterol was good. It used to be 180 but since being on Arimidex and going through instant menopause, it's now 250! I'm pretty upset about it as I eat very little meat or eggs - mostly veggies. I even take flush free niacin three times a day. My doctor doesn't think I need cholesterol lowering meds yet, because my LDL is offset by my good HDL cholesterol. It still upsets me though.

Praying that your eye gets better and better Kaara and for protection for the other one.

    Have a beautiful day everyone.

Rocket:  Congratulations on getting through the colonoscopy!  Now you probably won't have to have another for ten years...yea!  It's on my list of things to do next year.  I just couldn't deal with it this year with everything else going on:(

Dear Rocket, Yes, Praise the Lord for your great results on colonscopy. Don't worry too much about cholesterol, mine also went up while I was on Aromasin, but now I am back to normal as I went off of it in November!!!!!!  God bless you and have a great weekend!!!!!!

Yeah I don't need to go back for another 10 years. Hopefully by then they will have an easier prep. I don't plan on eating green Jello ever again!

Thanks, Rocket! I had my scans on Friday and they were clear of cancer. We're thanking God and everyone for their prayers. Now it's on to treatment decisions on Monday. I've researched all I can. I'm counting on God to give me direction right when I need it.

Good morning ladies on this beautiful sabbath morning!  So glad everyone's tests came out good.  I'm not even on anything that would raise my cholesterol - my cholesterol is naturally high (same as Rocket - eat very little eggs, no meat and only salmon).  I am on cholesterol lowering medicine - may need to be tweaked.  In the meantime I am going to take fish oil tabs - my brother said he lowered his cholesterol by 30 points taking them!

JO:  I'm the same way when I return to Texas for a visit...not there a day and the accent comes right back!  It's a good thing.  Nothing wrong with a little southern charm.

Update:  I have decided to hit any remaining cancer cells hard, even though I am still considered in the "gray area."  I am going to have CMF weekly for 12 weeks, then radiation daily for 6 weeks, then CMF again weekly for 12 weeks.  I am going to think of it as my seasonal job.  The oncologist says weekly treatments will cut down on the severity of any SE's, so I'm all for that even though the cancer center is inconvenient to get to.  I'm nervous about how my body will react to this assault, but I know God will give me the strength to endure.  Thanks for your support.

Dear Jeannie57, I am sure that you are now relieved that you have a plan, and it sounds like you have good doctors on your side!!! As always, Our Lord is in control and He will take care of you. I will pray for you daily. You will get through this and come out on top in this seasonal job. That was a good saying. You have a great attitude. I was also aggressive in my treatment!!! God bless you, KathySmile

Jeannie:  Prayers and positive energy to you as you navigate your tx.

JO:  I know the problems with lack of estrogen which I am experiencing now.  I'm having a lot of hot flashes still, but the irritability and mood swings have calmed down, thankfully!  Your DD should consider doing BHRT rather than the synthetic estrogens..they are much safer and work better.

    Jo,

Have you ever tried putting Fish Oil caplets in the freezer?  I keep mine there because I don't like to burp and taste fish!  I take them frozen every morning.  My aunt told me about this because she also has acid reflux and can't take them without freezing.

The idea is they're well into digestion before thawing.....I dunno, but I DO know that when I take them frozen I NEVER burp that fishy taste I do when I take them room temp.

    Just a thought.

Hi, TonLee!! Good question, I hope someone pops in with an answer for you. I take a fish oil capsule every other day, but not frozen. I do remember now, on the Dr. Oz show, he did one woman not to freeze her vitamins, but I don't remember why. I hope you get an answer soon. Have a very blessed Sunday.

    Kinder,

I wasn't asking Jo about the efficacy, I was telling her what worked for me and wondering if she'd tried it...lol.  I already know it is ok to freeze...

A question for you all....what biggest life lesson has the Lord taught you throughout your experience with b/c? I'm mid treatment, and have already seen Gods gentle hand everywhere so far.....He even held my hand during the breast MRI!

My biggest lesson is that either way I win.  If I die I win b/c I get to be with the Lord; if I live I win b/c I get to stay with my family and friends and still end up being with the Lord!!

    Hi Sisters,

I feel like I've been gone forever. I have been in Boone, looking for a new house. We finally found one and got a contract on it. Now we need to keep praying that the current home will sell.

I've missed you all. I agree with Jo that I'm not really fond of this new format. I'll get used to it.

Jo it was very exciting to hear the news of your friend and that no cancer was found from her skull biopsy. Praise God!

Jeannie, praying that God will hold your hand all the way through your treatment. I pray His comfort will bless you each day. You will get through this. He will help you and we will pray. I too treated my cancer aggressively and don't look back and wonder, "what if."

I have been a Christian for 32 years, and I too am still learning. What I have learned through this BC journey is that God is much bigger than I could ever comprehend. His love is vast. He loves me despite my fear, anger, weakness, lack of faith, sin, etc. I've learned that the proof of His love is the cross and not my earthly circumstance. I'm so thankful that He loves me, a poor sinner with no righteousness of my own. Despite being a Christian for more than three decades, it took having breast cancer to drive those truths home. I'm thankful for each day, and I have deeper compassion for those who suffer.

    Have a blessed evening everyone.

Jo-5, Great news about your friend. Praise the Lord!!!!!! Sissydi, The most wonderful thing that happened during my BC journey was that estranged relatives and family reunited and many prayers were answered. The journey also brought me to my knees and it strengthened my faith once again. I am at peace with whatever happens, because I know my journey will end in Heaven. Dechi, thank you for sharing the song. Rocket, prayers are coming for a smooth transition in buying your new house and selling your previous home!!!!! God bless you all!!!!
