Ade,
I am praying for Penni. I have a friend recently recovering from a stroke who continues to improve and is so much better! I am going to reach out to her right away to see what helped most. Another friend was severely impacted and not able to walk or speak at all after his stroke, but after much therapy, now he can, and he's resumed his law practice. Please tell Penni's daughter to tell Penni to not lose heart. The Lord is with her and He knows how to bring healing.
If Penni's daughter is able to locate a good integrative doctor for some integrative treatment modalities that can be added to the basic standard of care treatments being given at the hospital, it might help her recovery as well.
Praying for all of these needs and this week's surgeries, dear sisters.
Blessings,
Esther

No chemo dose decrease but she added a different nausea med. I feel guarded about the next couple of days, but we'll see.

I couldn't decide ... pink or blue?

Praying for you all today!!!
Today I’m asking for prayers for several things.
Please pray for my hubby as we have our own business and cannot seem to find quality workers. We need workers just can’t find anyone wanting to really work.
Please pray for 7 of my family members with Covid. (None of which live close to me)
Pray for me tomorrow. I supposed to have my last AC infusion before beginning Taxol. Pray my white counts are good and I can have treatments. I’m so ready to get this done.
Love and hugs to all
Shannon

Dear sisters,
Thank you all for making my 70th birthday very special. Ade, thank you for that beautiful banner. Joanne, thanks for your special videos of swans and butterflies sent personally. Hershey, you are too much. I was just kidding when I mentioned baking me a cake with my name on it. I know you probably spent a good amount of time finding these and I so appreciate it. Blue is my favorite color but those pink roses on the other cake look delicious. Can I have both! LOL I am indulging today. Faith, so good to hear from you. I have continued to lift you up everyday. Have you changed meds so you are not a zombie now or have they reduced the dose? I have had fun today. My phone sang happy birthday to me which was both fun and creepy at the same time. One of my neighbors sent me a basket of fruit from Edibles and a birthday balloon on top. I spent the afternoon photographing butterflies at the Butterfly House out of town. Now after I run to the cable store because my TV went out I plan to indulge in some forbidden food. You only turn 70 once right.
Ade, I am glad Esther and Joanne were able to give you some encouragement regarding Penni. I am praying for her as well. Joanne thanks for the lyrics. I know they are one of your favorite groups.
Chris, I am praying you will feel hope, joy and peace very soon.
GB, I am praying you will be able to tolerate your chemo with this new nausea drug. We have all been praying for you.
Shannon, praying all goes well for your infusion tomorrow. I know when we are in the middle of whatever challenges we are facing it can seem overwhelming and unending. Hang in there. There is an end in sight. I have heard this is especially a hard time to find good workers. I pray that you will have just the right people who can fill your needs. Praying for your family members who have Covid. Praying they will not have any lasting effects and that they will be healed of this awful virus.
Elizabett, we are praying for you as you face your surgery on Friday.
Bookpusher, praying all went well with your surgery yesterday and praying you will have a speedy recovery with good pain control.
Take care dear sisters. You have all made my day. Since I wasn't going to be able to spend my birthday with my family this year it has still been a good day.
Love
Nancy

Happy Birthday, dear Nancy!
I was looking for a fountain-shaped cake... and then I remembered your gift for photography
Love and blessings on your special day,

Thank you so much Esther. That is a beautiful flower. I do flower photography too and I have not seen one of those before. A cake with blue icing. Oh if I could reach into the screen and snatch a piece. I have outdone myself in consuming calories today. Not something to be proud of but I enjoyed every bit of it. I just got in from the dark. I had such a good time today that my responsibilities piled up on me tonight so I found myself out in the dark watering my flowers. Is that flower one of your photos? It is a beauty. Thank you again. I guess not every one gets three cakes for their birthday. I do feel special!!!!
Love,
Nancy

Well, they finally scheduled me to begin the 7 weeks of radiation. Tomorrow is a second 45-minute session. I'm thinking too positively to be upset about going through that all over again. Friday I begin radiation. Please pray for God to supernaturally protect my healthy cells while removing any stray cancer stem cells floating around.
Nancy, I'm glad you enjoyed a long, beautiful birthday today. I often find myself racing to put the cushions away and finish pulling down our umbrella in the last few rays of light. I used to be more active in our garden when I had more time. I loved working with my hands and protecting the plants from predators. It made me so upset when a plant got harmed or chewed. Always reminds me how tenderly God guards us, prunes us and cares for us, too. I laughed at your phone singing, happy birthday to you. Yes, creepy and funny at the same time.
GB, I pray the Lord supernaturally removes the discomfort as you move forward with the chemo.Thank you, Joanne, for sharing about your granddaughter and her progress. That is so heartwarming and encouraging.
Hershey, thanks for starting the gorgeous cakes for Nancy. Those look amazing!! Ah... the buttercream.
Bookpusher, how are you doing? Hopefully you are able to get some rest as you begin to heal. Elizabett, praying with you as Friday comes near. We've all been there and you have a lot of prayers going up for you.
Shannon, yes! Praying for workers with integrity and a great work ethic. I'm lifting up your family members with Covid. I'm going to send you a resource by direct message that you may want to pass along. It's from the FLCCC (frontline doctors). I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as I drive in for my 7 am preradiation. I already have a 30-35 minute drive and e a r l y... so I'll be praying for you as I drive.
Oops, almost dark! Gotta run out into the yard to put away the cushions and lower the umbrella!
Love and blessings,
Esther

WOW! Best cake yet! Nancy, your birthday isn't over yet! Keep celebrating...
Chris and Faith, I'm praying for you both as well. I'm going to have a lot of transit time for the next seven weeks.
Your sister in Christ,
Esther

Oh Chris. Thank you for that gorgeous cake and your sweet words. I guess if someone tried to put seventy candles on a cake it would catch on fire!!!! The three candles I could manage. So now I can tell everyone I got four cakes for my birthday. The way I have been eating I feel like I consumed four cakes!!!! Thank you and I hope your time in the valley is a very short one.
Esther, I don't remember doing two of those long sessions but hey I have an excuse. I am 70 now. LOL Maybe the second is when they mark you. I have a vague recollection now. I know my markers came off and I was freaking out and they said no worries. They may do things differently now. Mine was over seven years ago. I will pray that your treatments will go very smoothly and safely. Your positive attitude will go a long ways. If you can keep up your walking that will really pay off for you as far as combating fatigue. Just remember YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!
Have a good night dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

GB, Esther and Shannon, so thankful you have found this forum and I know you will find it a great group of ladies sharing their faith and knowing Him who can walk through every valley with us. I love all the beautiful pictures, banners, and the lovely birthday cakes:) Each one of you is precious in His sight, and I continue to pray for all of you.

Looking beautiful there, Shannon! Yes! You CAN do all things through Christ Jesus - it's His promise!
Nancy, You'll have to freeze some of that cake mountain! Glad you had a good 70th b-day!
Penni went straight from ICU to rehab where she will be at least 2 weeks (and no visitors!). THAT won't help her depression. She can only say a few words, can't walk, bladder isn't functioning, can lift arms and legs a bit and move a few fingers. But she's there all alone and frightened and sad. We feel SO badly for her!
James and I are not feeling well - praying it isn't the Delta variant.
I am praying for each one of you.
Love,
Ade

Ade, is that Gorilla Mountain? God's splendor is breathtaking!
I'm so sorry that you and James are not feeling well. You two have already had to deal with COVID once. I pray this illness passes quickly and the culprit isn't the opportunistic Delta variant.
It's so discouraging that Penni is not allowed visitors. What is the rationale? Mental and emotional support are so vital to recovery. I pray that the policy changes for Penni and her family's sake.

Wheatfields, thank you. How are you doing. Thank you for your prayers. Do you have any specific prayer requests?
Shannon, you look terrific!!!!!!!!!!!! One big hurdle over. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many Taxol treatments will you have? You can do this one day at a time. Try not to look too far into the future. I heard some words of wisdom many years ago that we should live in day tight compartments. No regrets from the past and no worrying for the future but to live in the present. I know that it is not easy.
Ade, that night sky is gorgeous. Today I feel hung over and I don't even drink. I had to get up early for contractors who came to lift my porch for the second time. I was going to ask if they gave face lifts too but decided not to!!!! Yeah what to do with four birthday cakes. One bite at a time. LOL
I am really sorry to hear about Penni and no visitors but with this Delta variant hitting hard everywhere she certainly doesn't want to get that on top of all she is already going through. I know it is really tough for those on the inside and for their friends and family on the outside.
I sure hope you and James don't get that either. I will definitely be praying for you both.
I got a text late last night from a close friend. I have sat next to my elderly friend in church for many, many years. She has been a widow for years and she lives in the same house as one of her daughters and her husband which I know very well. The daughter told me her husband had to go to the hospital with Covid last night. He was not vaccinated but they are. My elderly friend is 93 I think. She has dementia and can't tell me for sure. He only had fever but I haven't heard any updates.
Bookpusher, I am praying that you are doing well and wondering if you are still in the hospital.
Esther, I hope your early apt went well and that you are getting geared up for your rads on Friday.
Carol, are you okay? I hope that squirrel hasn't stole your digital devices!!
GB, I hope you are doing better this second time around.
I still haven't heard anything from Ellen so I am really concerned about her.
Have a good night dear sisters.
Love
Nancy

It's not quite as bad as the last round. She put me on olanzapine for nausea, with phenergan for breakthrough nausea. It's definitely better because I have been able to eat and drink. Feel like a zombie though. I went to work for 4 hours today and then gave up. Now that my FMLA is straight I'm not concerned about working a lot.
The hair loss is picking up steam. I might cover what's left with a baseball cap tomorrow for work. Hopefully by next week I will be bald enough to start wearing the beanies/turbans I bought. I want it to be over but we're not sure about buying equipment to shave it down for just the one time. I might send hubbie out for hair scissors though to cut it shorter. I don't know.

GB, just a little encouragement regarding hair loss - my friend Cathy lost all of her hair but as soon as the treatments were over she grew the most beautiful hair back! Same with another friend, Sandy. It's just for a while then no one will even know you lost your hair.
For those of you with fresh and pending mastectomies - it gets WAY more comfortable for you when they take out the drains! Mine came out at two weeks post op. You will be amazed.
Hershey, they have locked down where Penni is because of covid. :0( Yes, she NEEDS her loved ones right now. Thank you (all) for praying for her. Gorilla Mt. is below. Last night's pic is straight in front and Gorilla is just to the west of that.
Just a note. Don't be terrified of Delta variant. The 'news' does NOT say it is serious - just easily spread (and they are making a big deal of that). We looked up the symptoms and they are the same as a COLD. So whatever we seem to have is not that and hopefully will pass soon. I did try to take James to the E.R. because he is a cardiac patient and this is involving his heart...but he's a man (and a NURSE) and you know how that goes.
Blessings,
Ade

Let's remember to pray for Elizabett as she has her mastectomy tomorrow.
Let's pray for Esther as she starts radiation tomorrow.
Bookpusher who just had a double mastectomy on Monday let's pray for her complete recovery.
For all of those in treatments lets continue to give them ongoing prayer support. That is many of our stage four ladies and some of our newer ladies to this forum.......GB and Shannon.
Let's pray from Ade and her husband James who are not feeling well.
Let's pray for Joanne for her unspoken needs.
Have a great day dear sisters. I love all the support you are giving to each other.
Love,
Nancy

Hi beautiful ladies! I pray everyone has had a joy filled day and has a weekend filled with joy, laughter and peace!
I will be attending the local football game as my daughter will dance on the dance team. This is her first game as she is a freshman. She is so nervous. I know she will do great but She came in my room tonight and asked me to pray for her. So if you think about it maybe say a quick prayer for her.
I am feeling well after chemo yesterday. Thank the Lord! Last of the AC and in two weeks I start Taxol.
I love you all and I’m praying for you all!
Hugs and prayers

Shannon, I have prayed for your daughter but with time zone differences etc. not sure if the game is tonight on Friday but I did pray as I got up in the middle of the night and saw your post. I'm glad you are feeling well after chemo. I hope your daughter can eventually relax and enjoy time on the dance team. I am sure this will be something she will look back on with very fond memories.
As some of you are just starting your treatments and some having surgery this week and with Elizabett having her surgery today and some recovering from surgery as Bookpusher is and some like Esther starting her radiation and some having ongoing infusions and some of us out of treatments now we all need hope every single day no matter what we are facing. I remember in my naive thinking that when I retired I wouldn't have much stress. Life knocked me to the curb in my retirement very quickly with that misguided notion. We all deal with stress and fear and not knowing what our future will look like. We all have a different set of circumstances that could easily overwhelm and defeat each one of us but what we do have in common is we have the Creator of the universe calling us His friends and His children. We are heirs to God's kingdom. Think on that for a while and I think you will start to feel lifted and protected. We all know that being Christians isn't a get out of jail card with no more suffering. It does mean that whatever we go through our Father who loves us more than we can even imagine is on our side and is working His will and His perfect plan into something beautiful if we will allow Him to do so. The season you are in now won't last forever. If it is unpleasant and you are suffering it won't be forever. If you are on a mountain top experience relish each moment of every day.
You are all prayed for and I can't wait to see what answers to prayers we will hear.
Have a great weekend dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

Beautiful words of encouragement and lovely banner too, Nancy. When we are in the middle of the muddle we often forget Whose we are, Who holds our future, and what a wonder worker He is. Lord, help us all to remember these things, and that You said to fear not, for You are with us.
Just a thought that came to me as last night we were once again gazing at the splendid stars from our reclining lawn chairs in the courtyard - (in our jammies!). Jesus looked up at those very same stars! (Of course He MADE them and calls them by name) But that just gave me a sense of awe. I can't go to Israel and walk where He walked, but I can view the moon and stars that He used to look up at while here on earth.
The medical team met and say that Penni is making surprising progress! Thank you for your prayers. Also James is a little better today. )
Praying for all of you dear sisters. No matter what we are going through - "God has this!"
Ade

Thank you Ade. That is GREAT news regarding Penni. We will keep praying for her. I am glad James is better. You mentioned both of you not feeling well. Are you feeling better? Watching the stars in your jammies is not something I could do living where I do but it must be wonderful having the freedom and privacy to do that. I have never thought about Jesus watching these same stars. The next time i I look at the stars I will think of that.
I am watching for the second time Carrie Underwood's Easter special of mostly old Hymns. So good. It is on TV now.
Take care.
Love,
Nancy
