Bottle of Wine
A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold Monday morning; it's a bad one. Both of their cars are totally demolished, but amazingly neither of them is hurt. God works in mysterious ways.
After they crawl out of their cars, the man is yelling about women drivers.
The woman says, 'So, you're a man. That's interesting. I'm a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but we're unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should be friends and live in peace for the rest of our days.'
Flattered, the man replies, 'Oh yes, I agree completely, this must be a sign from God! But you're still at fault...women shouldn't be allowed to drive.'
The woman continues, 'And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune. She hands the bottle to the man.
The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman.
The woman takes the bottle, puts the cap back on and hands it back to the man.
The man asks, 'Aren't you having any?'
The woman replies, 'No. I think I'll just wait for the police...'
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Women are clever, evil bitches.
Don't mess with them.

Heidi,
What cute little bees!! Knowing Bostons, you need a full time beekeeper to keep those fiesty dogs from buzzing around! They are great dogs.
Had first infusion from eribulin clinical trial on Friday - I am fatigued and have body aches but felt good enough to go to a party last night and do some shopping. I'm trying to work now, but that isn't going as well! No nausea, but they gave me Aloxi? in my infusion. The eribulin infusion is very fast - just an injection, really - but the anti nausea takes longer, about 20 minutes.

This was posted over in the clinical trials section - very interesting:

Does anyone have problems sleeping? Last night I woke up several times thinking that I was dying and unable to breathe...I hate hate that...all I could think of was crap...I'm done...
I dunno maybe it is anxiety..I see both the onc and the bs this week..plus I committed to having Thanksgiving at my house...already I'm freaking out about having enough silverware and whether my oven is big enough for a turkey and a ham...oh yeah..and dust...it seems to be everywhere.

Rachelvk...very cool that you lived in Russia plus did reporting on Cherynobyl...who could turn that down? There are risks everywhere...guess you can't worry about it now anyway...
and about the Vit D..my onc is huge on that also...I have had several tests done and he is happy with my levels...I'm not..but he is...I think that there is at least something to do with it...since alot of bc patients have low levels...
I still take 4000 IU's per day...I don't get as much natural sun since my parents sold their house w/pool and we didn't do a beach vacation this year...plus I live in Ohio and work inside...

I sleep like crap now. I get real relaxed watching a movie and doze off, only to go to bed and have a horrible night. Between bad dreams, killing off my kids and myself, hot flashes, and waking up wide awake (what's that all about anyway?!), I rarely get much sleep. Maybe it has something to do with Ohio.. lol Maybe it is anxiety, not that we have anything to be anxious about. )

Ok..let's just blame it on Ohio..lol....

It's a Missouri thing too!

It's a florida thing too! I sleep horribly, even if I take my prescribed sleeping pills.
Titan, I bet with your upcoming dr appointments and Thanksgiving at your house your anxiety really high. Does your doctor give you anything for it? I suffer terribly from anxiety, I have a script for xanax, which I take rarely but it does seem to calm me down.
Good luck on your appointments this week and your Thanksgiving planning.

I have successfully weaned myself off Ativan, but don't sleep as well as I used to. What is good for just needing something 2 or 3 times a week?

OMG: Just spent the last hour reading through and now I am more exhausted then I was just arriving in Kentucky, lol!
Heidi: Love the costumes, thanks for the laughs. Keep 'em coming!
Sugar: My Vit D levels didn't go up until I started not only taking them with food but with magnesium and Vit K which help it absorb. Took me from low 30's to high 60's-haven't checked since, but this happened in less then a month so I know that it works.
Suze: Great to hear you are doing so well.
Kymn: Hang in there-you are beautiful and deserve only the best that life has to offer.
Laurajane: Can you here me cheering you on as the cancer disappears from your body???? WAHOOOOOO!!!!!! I am completely in pain, exhausted, sleeping on an air mattress and waiting for furniture. As soon as I start feeling like myself again we will plan a meet up!!! Right now my but is kicked!

Hi girl, it's been so long since I post here. Hope everyone is doing well. I went back to work and school and sometimes it feels as if there are not enough hours in a day to accomplish all I want. Having trouble managing my time after being home for so long..... I have a question: Did you experience being forgetful more often after your chemo? Boy , i am struggling with that. Anyhow, I went in for my 4 months check up and she said that I am still on remission. I am so happy! My implants look good and my open heart scar is barely visible. I am feeling blessed. So , I want to wish you all a good night. XOXO, Monika0

MBJ: Did you move to Kentucky?

Happy Halloween everyone! We lost power in the storm Saturday night, but thankfully got it back around noon today. Our house stays nice and warm with our fireplace as it has really thick walls, so the only annoyance was no hot shower. Oh, and cranky kids! But when it is dark at 6:00, I can send them to bed lol.
MBJ - glad to hear from you! Now comes the fun part, unpacking! We are still opening boxes 3 years later, hah.
Monika - so glad to hear of your good doctor visit! Wishing you a lifetime of remission .
Lovelyface - focus on foods that are high in Omega 3s, such as flax, walnuts, fish, etc. Cheerios, oatmeal, whole grains, all are good for you. Also, my DH takes fish oils tablets and Niacin. That with losing 10 pounds dropped his cholesterol about 20 points. But, he walks a LOT (works in Manhatten), and he was only borderline high.

Spoke with my doctor's PA today and she is going to set up a scan. She was worried about me getting kicked off the study before it had a chance to work if I showed progression, but once she realized I was in the chemo-only arm and could switch, it was no problem. I like that she is looking out for me. I'll keep you all posted!
Have a great night! I'm gorging on chocolate, arghkjkllkhf (best Homer Simpson drool)..0 -
Cinci is about an hr from me... but that area can be extremely bad in places..worse than LA believe it or not. Perhaps just north of cinci would be better. I would love to meet some of you guys!!

MBJ: Congrats on the move... how does it feel to be in a new place?
Suze: Good to hear you made it through the storm. You gotta love a warm fire.
Monika: Congrats on being back to school and work. That's quite a load, and I'm sure it's an adjustment to make - go easy on yourself. Oh and yes, I'm 1 1/2 years out from chemo, and I still have memory loss... sometimes I feel that what I want to say or remember is just slightly beyond my reach, weird feeling. I've adjusted by setting reminders for myself, but still it can be frustrating for me... and DH, lol.
lynniea: Congrats on being done treatment - you made it to the other side! Of course as all us TNs know, it's a bit of a double-edged sword as we don't have pills to take. Hope you get that winter job, it will be a nice new beginning.
I'm heading to the doc tomorrow to check out a persistent backache... and so it goes.... sigh.....

Really, can I be this tired from my last chemo? I am 5 days out from my last abraxane and I am exhausted! I am now having aches and pains that I did not have before, my fingers and toes are more numb than ever before and I could barely make it through my shower. I am suppose to go in for just one client tonight, I must make it, it is only just over an hour of work. Was anybody else extremely pooped after their last chemo? When do I start to feel better? I know I would start to feel ok just before my next treatment so maybe by friday I will feel ok. Sorry for whining.

Bak...I'm sure you will start feeling better soon...you are just like everyone else you want to feel like your old self NOW...give it some time girl...and whine all you want...

Good evening all of you wonderful ladies,
I haven't even begun to catch up but I did want all of you to know that I am feeling fabulous! I finished my 2nd round of Halavan today. I saw my onc and she had tears in her eyes and thinks my miraculous recovery is a miracle. She could not find any evidence of disease from her exam and actually ran my counts today two weeks early I get the results tomorrow but feel in my heart this cancer is gone. She told me to thank my healer for the miracles he has preformed. She said she has never seen anything like this before. For the newbies, I have done every chemo out there and this was the last one. My platelet and WBC counts that were so low last week when I did day one, she anticipated giving me nueprogen shots this week my WBC was3.0 today. As good as someone not doing chemo. I will see my healer again on Saturday. I also started the whole foods diet I should add. I feel great! I want to thank everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts. I am a new person. I think the reason I had this reoccurrence was because I didn't learn the lesson I was supposed to learn the first go around. Loving life, living life and appreciating life. Truly enjoying today. Loving all of you and sending smiles and happiness your way.0 -
laurajane, i am so happy for you, truly amazing. you are an inspiration!

Laurajane, your post brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy to hear this!!!!!!
I had my 3rd Taxol tx today and, despite the extra pre-meds, I reacted again to Taxol. I knew what to expect this time so I called the nurse over as soon as the chest pains and shortness of breath started. They gave me even more meds (I won't be sleeping tonight) and were able to get the Taxol in. I only have 1 more tx and just want to get it done!
Monika, congrats on being back to school and work. I'm currently debating what to do about going back to work. My short-term disability benefits run out on December 28 when I expect I'll be about half way through my 6 weeks of rads. Not sure if I should just apply for long-term or suggest that I go back to work part-time during rads. Other than a couple of crappy days with each cycle, I've been feeing good throughout chemo so I think I could be working. My job is not physically demanding but it is very mentally demanding....lots of deadlines, quick decisions, etc.
Suze, a major snowstorm in October! That's just crazy! I can't remember that even happening to us in Canada ever!
MBJ, glad you made it to Kentucky. Hope this is a good move for you!
Lynniea, congrats on finishing tx.
Sleep.....oh I long for a good night sleep. I know it won't be happening tonight with all the steroids they pumped into me today! Got about 5 hours last night which is really good for me. Haven't slept more than that since before my surgery. I've been resisting taking any meds to help me sleep.
