Cocker_spaniel - The Benadryl is to ward off allergic reactions to Taxol. I had my 2nd Taxol this past Thursday and it's been a breeze for me! I can't believe how good I feel. Other than being a little tired, I'm feeling good. With the 1st Taxol, I had really bad bone pain by day 3, but today is day 3 and I've got nothing. Woot Woot.

I was at a party today and a friend of mine is about 6 yrs out and she said she still has chemo brain.... and than she said since I am post menopausal it will just get worse... GREAT !!!!! Everything gets worse as we get old...except for my new rack... Laughing they are new and will have no sagging... If everything else goes down hill at least my boobs will not!!!

I saw some posts about husbands... mine has no patience for me I leave messes everywhere and forget to clean them up and I over buy everything at the store. Oh and I loose my keys at least 5 times a day....yes i know if I just hung them up with the other keys this would not be happening but I always foget Sealed

I have been cleaning house off and on all day. I keep resting in my chair and keep reading these posts. I'm so glad to know I'm not alone in my silly tactics. I work in a small office (two other ladies). One of them is my boss and she's a sweetheart but I know sometimes she thinks I'm totally bonkers. She is under forty and very healthy so she just does not get my "older-chemo" brain. Thankfully the other lady is just three years younger than me so she gets the older brain part:)

Luckily I don't need to take out my car keys to start my car.  They are always at the bottom of my purse and I just need them within 3 feet of the ignition or door and I am good to go.  It's funny. my DH bought me a key finder for Christmas from Brookstone.  I'm giving it to my daughter - she can never find her keys...lol.  I haven't even opened the package!

I went through menopause at least 15 years ago.  Maybe that's why I don't notice any "chemo brain."  I lost whatever brain function at least a decade ago!!!

Tracie - love the comment about the boobs!  I'm looking forward to new ones (DIEP) on 7/23!  I may be old and wrinkled, but I'll be perky and have a flat tummy!!!

You ladies crack me up with your poise pads and over abundance of crackers and salsa.  If my hubby didn't do the shopping I doubt I would be able to find the supermarket.   I have just had to go to the pharmacy to get some canasten cream for bad vaginal thrush.  I had it for the 4th and 5th days last chemo.  Boy was I glad there was a lady phramacist!!

CharB22 so does this mean you have Taxol with the Benadryl once a week because thats how often I am going to be having Taxol. I have one more lot of this chemo (thank god) left in three weeks time and then I go on to that.

So very tired and nauseous today but your posts make me laugh so much.  I can just imaging all the crackers, salsa and toilet paper building up in your homes.  Annie.

My go to items are plastic wrap and alum. foil.  At one point had a total of 5 unopened rolls of the stuff.

Well, ladies - at least we all got to laugh today at ourselves and each other.  It's so good to know that when I run out of greek olives, I can just run up to Canada and get some from Sugar!

    Love you all,

    Linda

Too funny Sugar! My dogs will watch tv also. They like america's funniest videos with animals! I will have to check out that move for them:)

Cocker Spaniel-I had the same problem after taking massive antibiotics for my infection, I had to ask a guy pharmacist. I almost walked away but I was so miserable!

My evil goat tried to eat my new camera shutter release! I stopped him from eating it but he broke it and I am not happy. He snuck up on me when I was taking photos of the chickens and before I knew it he had the cord in his mouth! That's 60 bucks down the drain, well not really, it was part of the trade from my film cameras, which really the camera store wil make a nice profit. Maybe they will give me a discount on another one.....Oh, and my chicken photos are bad! They move so fast!

I know this is weird but when I was jogging today I felt that Laura, Suze and Mary were with me...I probably looked pretty funny running around the track talking with a big smile on my face,,without an Ipod.....

    Very cute Bernie.

Have a question about Neuopathy.  My big toe on my port side seems to be getting a bit numb.  Last chemo was Sept 27, 11.  Had had very slight issues with numbness in those toes since at night but the past few days my big toe seems to be a little worse.  Is this normal?  I have not been doing my exercises because of being sick.  Plan to start again tomorrow.  Do you think that could have anything to do with it.

Lovelyface, I believe it was you who posted about anxiety.  My onc's office actually told me I was one of the worse anxiety patients they had.  To be honest, I have no idea how you can be so calm when you've been diagnosed with BC.

Off to the store to buy dog food, because another great habit of mine is to forget to buy the crap I need!  We were just there 2 days ago getting the one dog his food and I had forgotten that I used the last of the others when I filled their bins.

Best thing about today is I'm going to visit my poppop.  I have'nt seen him in about 2 months.

Cocker_spaniel - I'm on dose dense Taxol - I get 4 tx - 1 every other week. I've had 2 - 2 more to go and then I'm done this crappy chemo (I had 4 tx of A/C). Then I'll have 7 weeks of radiation because I had a lumpectomy in Dec.

Good thing today - my sugar level this morning was down to 126!! I'm enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the finches fly around in the tree in my front yard. It's a good Sunday morning!

You ladies are so funny!  I was half way through catching up on this blog when my hubby came home.  I walked downstairs and asked him question.  Then proceeded to ask him the same question again.  He just gives me the look now, and I know I've done it again.  The worst for me is when I am having a conversation and all of a sudden have no idea what we are talking about.  Sometimes I can cover, but sometimes I have actually had to ask my hubby who we were talking about.Sealed

For me I have no pasta in my cupboard, but all kinds of salsa!!

I have chemo brain and I used to be able to keep 5 things in my head. Now sometiems I feel like I have word finding problems. Difficult to deal with and I don't like it. On a ncie note had a lovely article about my artwork published in SOCO magazine. The author really listened to me and got it right.

Happy happy Sunday all you April Fools friends. Of course this was me 5 days before chemo...finally have a little hairdo. My psychiatrist friend said that if I started going to work this way my clients might think I changed my sexual orientation.I guess the wig stays on a little longer.

CharB22 - what does the dose dense chemo mean.  I have had three lots of AC chemo with one more lot to go in three weeks. Then I go onto Taxol for 12 weeks, one every week.  Seems an awful lot to me.  Can you tell me what the side effects are. My cancer nurse said it won't be so hard on me but if its anything like I have felt for the last two days then I am freaking worried.  Yesterday I felt like saying no more because I felt so awful and if I feel nauseous I seem to go down quickly.  After the Taxol I wait a month then have five weeks of  radiation, one every day.   I had a left mastectomy.  Thanks for your help. Annie

CS- Dose dense means every 2 weeks. I had the 12 weekly Taxol after AC DD and for me, Taxol was much easier then AC. I didn't have to have Neupogen shots for WBC. Didn't have to take all the anti-nausea meds. No nausea. No constipation. No metallic taste. No mouth sores. My taste came back so I could enjoy my food more and my hair started to regrow while on Taxol. I only had 1 bad day per week (bone pain) about on day 3 of treatment instead of 4 bad days on AC.
