    Evening

Luv I know what you are going through as we all do.  I have my PET tomorrow at 11:30 so asking for positive vibes, prayers, good thoughts and whatever anyone is willing to push for me. I have been pretty good most of the week and now that I have to prepare for it the night before it is on my mind.  I have prayed lots today and feel pretty at peace.  I will keep you in my prayers Luv for great news this week and sooner than later.

Alan, it is awesome that you check in on this board as it shows such support for your DW.  I know it is so hard on you DH's and mine said the exact same thing.  He felt so helpless because he has always took care of me and things and with this he can't do a thing but support me.  It has been very hard for him too just trying to understand it all.  Early on it was so overwhelming and it was such an overload of data.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and you have a awesome week ahead.

    Lucy

Just got a call and the nurse said the only thing it showed was a 3.5 cm uterine fibroid. So good news! But is it weird that the ultrasound missed it? Anyone have experience with fibroids? I asked her if my liver and everything else was clear and she said yes! So relieved!!

My PCP is out until Thursday so I guess I won't know much else until she calls. More waiting but thankful nothing else showed up!! I guess I may have to consider surgery as a possibility since I can't take any hormone therapy to get rid of it. I hate the thought of surgery due to needing antibiotics that will possibly set of another bout of C Diff but oh well! Can't let that spoil the good news!!

Lucy, thinking of you. Let us know how you get on later. In your pockets. Yours too Shari!!

GREAT NEWS LUV! So happy for you, I hope you can relax now!

I had my SNB injection today and put the emla cream over my nipple and guess what- my BS had sent instructions that she wanted the needles to go around the tumour! Oh well with the Ativan I was fine, it hurt but I didn't care.

Ok my friends, I'm going to have a nice long shower and hop into bed to enjoy sleeping on my side for the last time for awhile! My Daughter will try and give an update when I'm out of surgery and I will be back after regaining some strength and not too doped up! I know I feel all your support and love giving me courage to go forward, thank you!

Next time I'll be cancer free! Love to all.

Shari will be thinking of you and praying that all goes well.  Sleep well tonight my friend.

LUV wonderful news that there is 'no cancer' but, in view of all your problems in the past, I agree with anotherNYCG and get that fibroid out soon as you can because  they can grow.  Once that's gone you will be so much better.

Luv - awesome news!!! I'm so happy to hear the all clear! I had a couple uterine fibroids for many years. They started out around 1 cm and were 2.5 cm at the time of my hysterectomy a few months ago. Mine grew very slowly and were benign, but I agree with others. Have them removed just to be on the safe side and for your peace of mind. It's a simple procedure.

Shari - I'll be thinking of you today!

Arlene - I'm sorry to hear you had complications, but glad you're doing okay!

wanted to share (albeit a bit long) our fun video of shaving my head in order to make the kids at ease and a part of it....feel free to fast fwd to better parts, warning this is real life and yes I'm yelling at my kids to "get away from my wine" unedited ;o)

Probably a stupid question, but do you have to get antibiotics during and after surgery to take a fibroid out?

  • allydp

Luv - I'm pretty sure you'd get antibiotics, especially if they removed it vaginally. Any time I've had a vaginal procedure (IVF, sonohysterography/saline ultrasound, etc.) I've gotten antibiotics.

Surgery is tomorrow at 8 am to find out what this mass is. I've been oddly calm today, but I'm sure the nerves will kick in tomorrow. I really hope I don't have to wait for pathology, and God forbid it's cancer, I hope my BS gets clear margins this first time around. I'm going to ask her to do a SNB in that case as well. BUT, hopefully all this what if planning is unnecessary!

Thanks so much, ladies. All went well this morning. My BS is confident it looks like scar tissue, but I should have final pathology Friday or Monday. I'm not as worried as I was and actually feel pretty good about this. I think she would have told me if she was concerned.
