    Hello Shari,

I was so sorry to read that you are having a hard time and I do hope that everything will get better for you. It must be so hard doing this a second time round. All you can do is rest and drink plenty of water to flush all these drugs through your body. I think keeping well hydrated is so important. There is coconut drink widely available now that has all the electrolytes in it that re-hydrate the body. If you are thinking of trying it get the one that says not from concentrate and zero sugar. I buy this water from time to time and feel it energises me.

You will get to the end of this.

Sending you fond thoughts. Best wishes.

    Sylvia xxxx

Hello all. I am still alive and kicking cancers butt. Tuesday was the fourth AC treatment. I get a three week break before starting Taxol, and hope to get a few things accomplished. Last treatment came with some nausea and more fatigue, but this time it doesn't seem as intense.

I am staying out on disability until after surgery recovery, so I won't be back at work until December or January. I just hope to not go stir crazy in the mean time. There's only so much TV to watch, and my focus has diminished so reading isn't happening much either.

Have a safe and sane Fourth of July!

Welcome Esmerelda50.  So sorry to hear you are going through this crap again and very sorry its chemo again for you but hopefully you will make it through and go 20 years or more this time.   I love all my Docs as well and have great faith in them. Keep up the good work with chemo and keep in touch.

Shari keep fighting girl, only four more to go.  In your pocket and staying there.

Hi Angel so glad to hear you are still alive and kicking.  Your time off work will help you heal well.  You could take up knitting, crocheting, painting, gardening or just plain relaxing or even dancing, think of all the possibilities while you are lucky not to have to work. Big hugs to you.

A friend send me a post on Facebook of a wee girl which must have been during the ice challenge, she could only have been about 2 yrs.  She was sitting in one of those little kiddy beach chairs and was babbling away but we couldn't understand what she was saying because of her age.  Suddenly someone chucked a bucket of water over her, she jumped up and said F&*^&%^  Hell as clear as day.  It made me laugh so much, just wasn't expecting that.

    Have a great day ladies.

Arlene mine is the same way, but she only weighs 9 pounds! A friend recommended 'thunder shirts' for dogs,it's a tight fitting stretchy jacket that makes them feel they are being hugged. It seems to help my fur baby. They come in xxl sizes as well

Arlene, I recommend the thunder shirts for dogs too. It helps calm all three of ours. I also give them Benadryl, recommended by my vet.

Arlene, my vet said it was safe to give one miligram of Benadryl per pound of body weight. Your dog weighs 75 lbs so you can give 75mg's of Benadryl. That's what I give mine. They're all in the 75 pound range.

Welcome Esmerelda. I think you're already a pro at this, but this will be a place of great support/

Thank you Luvmydobies. I wasn't worried about my PET till today. When I was first diagnosed, a barn swallow decided to nest on the light fixture in the garage at my Mom's house.. It actually brought me some peace. I lost a friend, years ago, to BC and she happened to breed birds. I thought she had come back to visit and support me. I left the nest there. The next year Momma bird didn't come back. Then the next year there she was again, and two weeks later I found out I had relapsed and the cancer was back. Next year came and I took the damn nest down!

I've been busy and haven't stopped at Mom's house for about a week. I stopped today, and there was the f*%^ing bird sitting on top of a brand new nest! I may not have had my PET yet, but my BIRD SCAN is now making me nervous as hell!!!

Kathy, try not to read too much into that bird! Just flip it the "bird" and go on! Haha! Praying for you! Keep us posted. We'll be in your pocket! XOXO!

Shark Week starts today! Anyone else a fan? It may sound dumb to a lot of folks, including my hubby, but it helps take my mind off the bad stuff a little for a week

My wife and her best friend of 42 years or so, were diagnosed a day apart. My wife on 4/8/2013 and her best friend on 4/9/2013. The difference, however, was that my wife was diagnosed with Stage 1 TNBC while her friend was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer (despite never having smoked even one cigarette in her lifetime). My wife, a warrior in her own right, having had cancer TWICE, will be running in the Central Pennsylvania Free To Breathe 5K run in August, to raise funds to double lung cancer survival by 2022 , alongside her lifelong friend and fellow warrior, who has already beaten the odds badly and is still battling her cancer day in and day out. Tough stock those two ladies. Tough stock!

Love hearing all the good news around here!

Arlene - sending you prayers for a quick recovery!

Shari - Carbo was really hard on my counts too. I eventually needed a blood transfusion towards the end which helped give me some energy back. Hope you're getting through the worst of this round and feeling a little better. Hang in there!

Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!

Thanks Alicia, I managed to play 9 holes of golf with my DSS, DS and DH on Sunday - with cart, but it really took its toll and I spend the day in bed yesterday! I'm finding that if I'm active, I pay for it the next day, but really my SE have been very manageable. The worst is the fatigue, but it's doable. My hair is thinning quite a bit with much more of my scalp showing than I'd like, but I still have hair! Four more to go, but this is my rest week and I like that!

How are you doing? Missed seeing you on here, but understand we all need a break from this once in awhile!

AL definitely tough stock and lung cancer without ever smoking.  Now that really is unfair.  Wishing them both well for August.

Arlene hoping all goes well for you.  In your pocket.

Shari glad you managed to fit in some golf.  Don't overdo it and make sure you rest this week.
