Gee whiz, it is quiet!  I go to sleep and everyone getseither better or more important things to do.  All is good. Now if I could just stay awake for a little while.  I think this last week I have been awake 1 day!  Guess I needed the rest, everyone here keeps telling me to slow down.  Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

I think quiet may be good.  I am going tomorrow for my breast MRI.  This is a new breast surgeon so I don't know if he will call me with results or make me wait until I see him on the 25th, although I don't expect anything to be there since my last surgery was in November.  This is just a follow up to make sure they got everything.  If everything looks good then I'll get the green light to move forward with my BMX.

Thanks annette all went well but the tech went through my vein when she did the IV so she had to pull it out and do it again.  got it the second time and she felt awful about it but it did not hurt.  Now I just have to wait for the results.

Thanks Barbara but I am feeling positive about this one. Trying to not let negative thoughts cross my mind.  Decided I have had enough of that.

shelley - sorry, I missed your weather comment but it applies to today as well!  what a fabulous day.  I almost put the top down (on the car, not myself!) and turned up the tunes to enjoy it but my hair is still too short and then I look like a chia pet when I get where I am going!

Omaz - Enjoy, it is nice here in FL, too. Just what the chamber of commerce wants...:)

shelley - yes, last Herceptin today.  MO high-fived me!  Usually he puts his hand on my head and ruffles my hair, but today was a high-five.  Today was a "this is why we live in Florida" kind of day!

    Amyjo you changed your name!!!

I have not heard anything and called my MO's office today and they have not received the report so medical records was going to call on it.  They were not the one's that ordered it, that was my BS which I have an appt with next wednesday.  I am going with no news is good news.

Special K --woohoo on finishing herceptin

    Hey AnnetteK, how's it going?

Finally got my breast MRI report and everything looked good.  Just surgical changes from November but that is to be expected. So now that clears me for my PS to do both my MX and reconstruction so I don't have to have two surgeons.  My PS is one of the few that will do both that is one of the reason why I choose him.  He said he likes to do both because then he can control the outcome much better.

Thanks guys!  It is that mixture of happy and scary!  And just when I thought I would have a break from appts. I have a PET, bone density, GYN, eye check, and exchange in February!

Yeah for Sherry! Wow, that's a great thing that your surgeon will do both. That is awesome! I am starting to think about recon now. If I had had a choice I think I would have done it simultaneously as well. Oh well.

Special K, it slows down, but I felt good about being followed closely for the first year or so, it helps with the transition from patient to survivor. Hope your exchange goes well. Let us know how it is. I'm reading up on all of the procedures.

shelley - I just had an extensive conversation with DH about how to dress after exchange.  I have always been conservative and not worn anything very low-cut.  He seems to think I should now (because he is a man...) and I was just the opposite - can't feel 'em, they are not real, why showcase them?  This will be interesting!  Part of this will also hinge on how they look!  You did a uni with no recon - correct?  Was that due to rads?  What are your recon thoughts now?

I actually just looked at my appt for Feb 17 with MO - he is a true believer in blood tests!  I decided I kinda like that about him - and he likes scans too!  I guess I like all that because so far they have all been good.  Confirmation of good news is good!

    SpecialK,

I know we are not too far apart. Who is your surgeon?

My BS scheduled me for my MX the same week I was diagnosed (Mon, surgery Thurs) and did not discuss any other options at the time or since. That time was a whirlwind and I hadn't found this site yet. He did a nice job on the MX and he knew my tumor was big (we didn't know how big until after) so I really think he was taking the conservative approach. But yes, I did have chemo and radiation so I would have had to wait anyway.

Now I am thinking about having some sort of recon, I'm looking at the different flap procedures. I need a consult to see if I have enough tissue. Is the expander process painful? I guess that is why I'm thinking about the flaps, since you don't do any expansions.
