Lago - First time bananas in something has not resulted in sending me to the ER! Thanks for the cookies.
I have been able to eat a little better today. I managed some Tater Tot for lunch and a BLT for dinner. I even ate the whole sandwich! I am still really exhausted and have slept most of the day. Last night was the first night I did not wake up with night sweats and slept all night long. I started taking my Femara at night on Monday and I really think that has made the difference, anyway we will see if it hold true for tonight. I have a lot of sleep to catch up on.
Hope everyone has a restful evening and a joyous day tomorrow.
Joy and blessings, Amy Jo

Adey Banana and chocolate just go together. Used to be one of my favorite ice cream combos but hard to find. Chunky Monkey (Ben & Jerry's) has too much banana and not enough chocolate. Banana is very strong therefore the chocolate should be the base with banana chunks IMO. Yes I supposed I could just make my own.
I also like the idea of making oatmeal cookies with craisins. Perfect for this time of year.
I have also made them with mini semi sweet M&M's but I think they're a bit too sweet.

Lago, I just got a whip of your cookies. Yum... thanks for the recipe and what a great idea to add crasins. Wonder if crasins and chocolate would work together?

Amyjo and Tori-- ((((HUGS)))))

I made some really good brownies the other day and added craisins. I thought they were great!
I got my prescription for Arimidex today.

I don't think craisins with chocolate or peanut butter would work for me but Samsue go ahead if you think it will work.
Funny but I find even of facebook you post pictures of food and people go crazy with comments. From now on I'm not posting pictures of family just what the family is eating ;-)

and really, I find that lovingly home made anything is a great big hug to us all too. Thanks for the tempting photo and the "hug". Feeling better, thanks for all your support and concern. You are the best!

Thanks for the pat, when I look back to July it seems that it went by faster than I was feeling during it all.. doing well, bouncing back quickly after chemo and only one more to go!!! My second port is healing slowly but healing!!! My angel nurses at wound care take good care with me. On my way there now... Love and hugs to all...Kaz

I too had a deep dive to the melancholy side of life, I spoke to my onc nurse who was urging me to take anti depressive meds, I decided against those but have taken anxiety meds. When I had the pulmonary emboli I had a sense of doom which is what prompted a look at my lungs, and sure enough it was a clot. I have a great team they have been on top of things for me, all I have to do is ask. They know signs that we would never guess relate to se's...Kaz

KAZ - What happened? I must have missed something, you have a new port??0
-
Tek - you seem to be feeling better. I am so happy. Your diagnosis was right when mine was so we started this journey at the same time.
Kaz, What's up with you!!!???
OMaz, you are doing better too, right?
And Lago, those cookies made me insane while I was working in Long Beach. I am home now and I can indulge myself better.
Samsue - it is FREEZING here! What's up? I leave for 10 days and come back and it is like alaska.

BarbaraA - you are always so kind to ask about me! I am doing better. Recovering from last chemo slowly physically but much faster in the mental realm. Really looking forward to the holidays.0
-
BarbaraA, I'm with you... It's freezing here! Was thinking of Lago's cookies and with a hot cup of tea or even cocoa, it would be great warm me up.

Okay, you Florida ladies, the teeny tiny violin is not playing because it is cold down there. It is like the bloody Arctic here in NYC. I feel like a shut-in already and it is only December! It's like an instant icecream headache when I got outside. And on that note, I can't wait for all you traveling ladies to come to NYC. What a time we would have!0
-
Designermom, Please remember our blood has thinned out and feel a little pity! Besides we don't have warm coats or gloves. Not to mention boots, scarves or ear muffs.0
-
Thanks for the tiny violin DM but I have to tell you, when it is 40 and you don't have gloves or a scarf, it is COLD!

Ditto, what BarbA said. We aren't prepared for cold weather. Plus its humid and cold which cuts right through you. Playing a nice tune for us Florida gals!

lol! No violin from me either as we are shut in with the worst snowfall since 1991! Over a foot of snow and WINDY! Only going to be 0 for a HIGH tomorrow! I have a girlfriend in the Fort Myers area--she has been complaining about the cold also--I'm sending her an electric balnket. The house they are renting doesn't have heat!
Hope all are feeling well! Rads fatigue is kicking in for me, but it's nothing compared to chemo!

Aw Tina!!! Having rads fatigue PLUS freezing cold/snow/drifts is not good at all! Your poor friend with no heat. It astounds me that there really are homes here with no heat. Mine works great and is in use as I type.
Happy Saturday sistas!

Well, I will chime in here too! It is freezing in NC too. I am sitting under a big down comforter fully clothed in 2 layers of cloths and the fire place is a blazing. It was warmer at the beach! And it is supposed to be colder tomorrow. Glad I can stay inside where it is warm.

I say everyone take a nice, hot, lovely lavender bath and warm up. Get into your coziest jammies and stay cuddled up with a good book and pot of tea until it warms up a bit. We're supposed to have driving rain and winds tomorrow. Joy! Weird weather!

Hi All,
Raining here in the northwest, but not too cold. Sitting here watching Christmas movies with my 4 year old grandson. We did have snow two or so weeks ago about time of my first TC treatment. Had an easy time of it . . . only some nausea for two days (days 2 & 3), no tastebuds and mild lower back pain from the Neulasta. Those side effects are all gone, all blood work good and energy level normal. Day 15 (Thursday) hair started to go and is coming out by the handfuls. Will buzz it off tomorrow. So far so good with next chemo on Wednesday.
Best wishes to all!

(((CINDY)))) big gentle cyber hugs for you!
So I wake up this morning and the sky is gray and it is raining cats and dogs! Have not been out yet to see how cold it is but it LOOKS cold. Will be braving the weather shortly, as we are going out to brunch. But thank the dude upstairs for a garage. Think we'll wait until it slows down a little.

DesignerMom - Sounds like a good plan to me. It has been cold an rainy all day and it is supposed to get colder tonight when the front comes through here. Already have the tea kettle on and I think I will head for that nice hot lovely lavender bath. DH is building a fire in the fireplace.
Everyone stay warm and well.
Cyntyler - so glad the TC treatment was easy for you hope they continue to be easy. Stock up on warm scarfs and hats.
Joy and blessings, Amy Jo

amyjo- Wish I could sit in front of your roaring fire and share a cup of tea. Stay warm and relax!
cyntyler- You sound positive and strong. Stock up on scarves and hats. Two organizations give away lovely scarves for free to ladies loosing their hair. They are www.franceluxe.com and www.gailafund.org The get well card, signed by each of their employees meant even more to me than the scarf. I was so touched by their heartfelt wishes for healing.

Well I sure can't complain about the weather . . . it's in the low 80's in San Diego today, and supposed to be mid-to-high 70's the rest of the week.
I got scarves from those two organizations as well, DesignerMom. The cards included were quite a sweet unexpected surprise.
Hope everyone is having minimal to no SEs . . . so far I've still got weepy eyes and peeling fingernails, but I haven't started rads yet. Had a 2nd CT scan last Wednesday but haven't heard about my schedule yet. Oh the waiting continues . . . .

Speaking of scarves: http://www.anokhiusa.com/ is having 15%-20% off till Christmas. I own several of them. Really nice soft cotton, lovely colors and great price especially with discount and no shippin fees.0

MrsNice- My nails were peeling and breaking after chemo. I love the Revlon Post Trauma Nail Treatment. It has really helped. It paints on very thin and pale and doesn't chip at all.

Day 4 after my reduced by 1/3 Taxotere tx and I'm doing much better. NO Bone pain, just very achey, very tired and no taste buds again. Yes I have the peeling nails too, I'll look for that Revlon product, hope I can find it.
Hope everyone has a great day, and enjoys the holiday season.

I get my TCH tomorrow, not looking forward to the tastebud thing.... but.... it will hopefully help me drop a few of these pounds I have picked up.
I was looking at old pictures (Ha, like 2 years ago) and couldnt believe how skinny I was, over 2 years I picked up about 10-15 pounds, since cancer treatment started I have picked up about 10 pounds in a month. I thought I would loose weight with chemo, a SE I wouldnt mind. I just have to get on the treadmill when I feel good, problem with that is hip pain...I had the bone scan, Dr said it looked good. So I cant explaine the hip pain....
Its snowing outside, looks pretty, but I really hope it doesnt stick.
