    Reader425, 17 sounds like a lucky number.

I am being SO conscientious about my food choices this week.  Yesterday I was down 5 lbs from Monday's VERY HIGH number on the scale.  I am salt sensitive and consumed baked ham on Sun.  So much of loss was probably fluid.  Did not have a cocktail Mon, Tues, or Wed.  DH is skipping the cocktail, too, which really helps.  I've been brewing Red Zinger tea and sipping a big glass of it during cocktail time.  DH makes himself a Virgin Mary.

I'm starving in the afternoon, about 4 or 5 pm.  Have been air-popping pop corn and spraying it with cooking butter spray.  Pour the kernals in a pyrex dish.  Cover with a plate and turn microwave on High for as long as it takes.  When the popping stops, I remove the bowl VERY CAREFULLY because it is extremely hot.  So easy and good and inexpensive without all that extra packaging.

Would welcome suggestions for other healthy snacks.

Good luck to all of us in our quest for a healthy weight.

String cheese has more calories, but is great when you're starving. The protein stays with you a little longer.

There's liight string cheese too with half the calories. Fruit is good because you get the craved for sweetness. I'd say nuts but I can't stop at the 8 or 12 or whatever one serving consists of!

I'm down 1 pound so far. A curious thing my hubby and I have found is that by simply tracking food consumption on fitness pal we tend to eat less; and by wearing my fitbit I'm walking a bit more. One step at a time..

I like the popcorn with less packaging idea. I'm going to try it!

I mix about 3-4 tablespoons kernels in a cup with a teaspoon of olive oil and salt Pour into a brown paper bag, drop in some butter. Fold top of bag 2-3 times and microwave on high for 3 mins. No 'stuff' from processed popcorn.

Other snacks is string cheese, a hard boiled egg, both good for protein which helps stave off hunger, and fruit. I also like, and they are good for you,3 or 4 pitted prunes at night is good for the sweet tooth.

Is today Weds? You would think I was retired since I can't remember my days. So, if it's Weds then I'm on time, if it's not, well I'm here anyway! Stayed the same this week but expecting better next week. Started logging again on loseit.com and my fitbit one arrived and is synced up so I'm good to go.

Held steady at 132.5. Not bad since I was visiting relatives and had no control over what I was given to eat.

Got most of the Easter weight off....still need to lose .3 of a pound to get back to where I was before The Attack of the Chocolate Easter Bunny!

Hi all, up sightly but was a small enough gain I'm not going to stress. I had over 6,000 steps on my fitbit tonight and walked for 30 minutes around the lake. Trying to celebrate the good!!

Have a healthy rest of the week!

I'm down two, but don't know it really 'counts'. I had a touch of the flu Monday & Tuesday and only ate some dry toast & a handful of cheerios for those two days.....

Haven't had the courage to step on the scales the last few days.

    wren44 Member Posts: 7,928

Up 1.5. My scale has been acting wonky lately. Today it was everything from 128 to 147.5. 134 seemed more likely than any of the others. It's not very old either, so I don't know what's wrong. Probably the warranty just ran out.

Weighed this morning and was about the same as before house guests came. So no lasting gain.

Did I miss again this week? Not sure what day it is these days as I'm on auto-pilot. Think I was down a little in spite of being over my cal count on loseit almost every day this week.

    Hoping for better next week.

Wren, you must be petite.  I would be skin and bones at 134.

I was 162.5 today down from 165 yesterday.

I signed up with the Mayo Clinic Diet out of curiosity but will cancel before my free week is over.  It's similar to WW.

    Welcome, MammaRay!

Welcome MammaRay. Five lbs is a good loss. Reward yourself with a new nail polish or something.

Carole, Not sure you'd call me petite, but about 123 would be a good weight. I got down to 117 once, but that was too thin. !34 wouldn't be too bad if it weren't all in my midsection. I'm definitely an apple shape.

5 lbs is great, MammaRay. Keep it up, er, down!

I saw on the news that Janet Nidetch (sp?), the founder of WW, maintained her post-program weight until her death at 91. I'd like to be able to do that, too. Live that long and not gain.

    Down 500 grams.

Down another pound....been logging in religiously on loseit.com and I know that is the reason.
