Falconer thats an interesting cleanse. How much kitchari do you eat during the day? I was thinking this could be similar to a fast mimicking duet that Dr Longo touts.

I was down 1.4 lbs which is pretty good since I had lunch out with friends 2 days this week and I cant say I ate salad,

Bellatassie I like the dietdoctor website. I lost 6 lbs doing their two week chalenge once. I should maybe do that again

TwoHobbies, here's a typical day for me on the cleanse- almond butter on a rice cake and black coffee in the AM, then about a little more than a fist sized amount of kitchari for lunch, tea and some more nut product like almond butter for a snack, then the same amount of kitchari for dinner. Some folks eat it for three meals but I can't manage that. So I eat that way four days. The middle day is a "juice" day, but depending on the weather that might actually mean soup. I've had puréed sweet potatoes, butter nut squash, carrots. Or smoothies if it's warm. It really does give the system a rest. No meat and little fat. No highly processed foods, which are the worst for me- I'm a crackers and dip or cheese fan in the afternoon. So today is the end of it, I'm down another pound, and I feel really good. Now, let's see how long I can keep it up!

I have a fitbit so have been tracking my steps and exercise for quite awhile. Today I broke down and started to track my weight, sleep, amount of water drunk, and food consumption (you can pick how rigorous of a calorie restriction you want while losing weight and automatically can get calories back through exercise). If I use it, I should have no excuses not to lose weight. I find I do better with gimmicks, so this should help.

Happy Wednesday everyone! 77.3kg today, up 200g, bummer 😟. 24 of 25 rads today, I’ve been really sore but the mepitel dressings the nurse applied this week have helped. Was in too much pain over weekend and Monday morning to wear even my surgicaL bra so just hung around the house doing nothing, instead of going to gym and attending World Tai Chi Day, which I had really been looking forward to! Ah well.

I’ve been doing more research on ketogenic diet, trying to find an app that will track my macros (net carbs,) but also micronutrients, as u really have to restrict ur intake to get under 20 net grams per day. Trying Chronometer, has anyone here used it? Then I will know exactly what supplements I need. Well off to Herceptin/Perjeta infusion no. 42, ain’t life fun? Have a great week, hope the rest of u have done better than me this week 😊.

    Better luck next week, Bella.

I was down another 1 lb. at WW weigh in on Monday. Total of 6.2 lbs to 168. Feeling encouraged and committed to the WW program.

Down 1.5 lbs this week and getting closer to my original weigh in weight.

Congrats to the other losers and everyone for their efforts, even if every week doesn’t go as planned.

I'm down 1.6 pounds. Using the fitbit log is really working for me. It tracks food and exercise (any movement actually). Since I want to lose the weight fairly quickly, it tells me that I need to keep a -175 gap between calories in and calories out. The days I've done it, I've checked near the end of the day. Yesterday it said I needed 62 more steps to get into the 'gap' range so I walked around the house until I reached it. Very helpful!

My weight is the same as last Wed although I celebrated a warm day last Thur and I've spent the week getting back to my original weight. We went out for huge fish sandwiches, onion rings and a milkshake and sat outside in the sun while we ate. It was worth it! Another nice warm day today, but I plan on eating normally.

Weighed the same as last week, which puts me close to my goal. Now, not to gain it back!!! Tonight I resisted the huge loaf of garlic bread the DH made...

Thanks , Falconer, for the info. I am a study of one and like to try different things.

I am among the steady crowd this week. Didnt vary even .1 lb. New setpoint to conquer.

Steady as she goes here too, at least since my last weigh in. Congrats to all the losers.

Well, I weighed, I cried and then cried some more. I got angry and now I am numb. I gained 3lbs in one week. I am more active now than I have been since October and trying to watch what I eat....well I watch it all right watch it go into my mouth! Loopy Seriously though I am really hating Tamoxifen if it is the reason for the 3lbs in one week. UGH.

Congrats to all those who lost or stayed the same.

Sorry, vampeyes. I can empathize with your dismay. I gained weight during my five years on arimidex. When I stopped taking it, the extra weight didn't magically fall off, I'm sad to say. Hang in there. Your main goal is no recurrence of bc. Hugs.

After many nights of "cheating" on weight watchers the past several days, I was shocked yesterday morning to be down 2.4 lbs! Down to 151.2, 140 is my goal. I agree, the nicer weather is also a great incentive to try and maintain/lose. Was quite warm here yesterday, and I ventured out in shorts for the first time this year, dimply pasty knees and legs, not a pretty picture lol! Makes me more mindful of what I put into my mouth.

    Hi

I just joined this forum. I finished radiation, 30 treatments. Started Arimedex. Day 14 joints and legs swollen and couldn't walk. Started Letrozole, day 20 hit me like a ton of bricks. Stopped medicine altoghter. Weight is piling up. I had right breast lumpectomy stage 1 and 4 lymph nodes taken out which were clear. I am 61 years old and am so disgusted. Oncologist said next week, we will discuss another medicine. I keep wondering is it worth it to be a cripple. I could hardly walk or bend with the feet and legs burning. Please write back. I live in NJ and teach High School. GraceFrancis

Welcome GraceFrancis. I took Claritin (not Claritin D) while on Arimedex and it helped with the aches and pains. Given that you've had such awful reactions, you're not as lucky as I was. Lots of people have trouble with one or two and can take others, so don't give up yet. You might suggest starting at a lower dose and see if that helps. Good for you teaching high school; not an easy job for sure. There are several threads about the AI's although most of the posters are having problems as you did.

Welcome GraceFrancis. Sorry you are having such problems with your meds. I did not have the side effects you are having - I was on Tamoxifen for 2 years, and now on Anastrazole for almost 5 years. Hang in there - I'm sure you and your oncologist can figure something out.

GraceFrancis, my experience with anastrozole started with horrific aches and pains like you had. I was almost in tears trying to get up and down stairs. And then...it went away! All joint and muscle pains have stopped. I’m six months into the drug and running 20 miles a week. Maybe you can give the AIs a little bit more time in hopes a seeing an adjustment? I don’t know. I was ready to quit but too stubborn to do so.

Hi everyone I’m back with my Sunday weigh in after a break in Vienna last weekend. I’m really happy because although I gained 0.75 lbs over the last 2 weeks, I’m still lower than I’ve been since around 2004. Now I just want to maintain all the good habits I’ve picked up and just stick at around this weight (139lbs) or maybe even a tiny bit lower. Pat01 you were right, the walking in Vienna must have cancelled out the cake and whipped cream!

Hi and welcome Vampeyes and Grace. Posting here definitely helps us to lose weight and to keep us focussed on a goal of being healthy. Just take it a week at a time and don’t worry about a “bad” week: there will be good weeks and bad weeks and each week is a new week! 2 years away from chemo and I still feel that I haven’t fully recovered, it’s taken me a long time to feel remotely OK again so don’t worry you’ll get there in the end and it’s great to think that you’re doing everything you can to stay as well as you can be.

High fives to Carole, Ruthbru, Illimae, Pat01 and whoever else who’s lost weight this past fortnight you’re all inspiring me to keep focussed on being healthy, keep it going! Thanks also for the Kitchari tip, I’m definitely going to try that.

Wren I’m all for celebrating warm days too! It was so hot in Vienna, that we had to stop for ice cream sundaes, at least twice a day. I managed to persuade my husband that we should share, rather than having one each. It was worth it, and now I’m going to be strict with myself again.

See you next Sunday. Love and light to you all

Thanks Falconer, it helps me a lot to feel part of a group and to hear how everyone else approaches getting to a healthy weight and staying there. I’m definitely planning to do a yoga/kitchari/juice cleanse week at some point - I just need to work out when I can fit that in, it has to be a week when there’s not too much going on!

I was down another lb. at the WW weigh in this morning for a total of 7.2 lbs. I hope I can lose 2 more lbs in the two weeks before we head north to MN for the summer. That would get me down to 165, which is 5 lbs from goal weight. I'm hoping all of you can help me stay on track this summer when I'll be facing lots of snack temptation and potluck temptation. My main hope will be making the effort to attend one of the few WW meetings in the area. The closest one is 32 miles away on a weekday afternoon. It's doable.

I lost 1.6kg! Doing keto properly this time, with carbs at 20g, protein 72g and fat 182g. Getting this much fat is difficult but Chronometer is helping me plan each day. I’m not hungry, but like most I enjoy the taste of food, so this is the challenge. It’s Mothers Day on Sunday and I won’t be sharing food with my kids, will just enjoy their company

Nice work, Bella! Carole, ThumbsUp! I'm losing along with you guys - 0.3kg.  I only count how many servings of fruit and veggies I get and that mostly comes with a lot of extra virgin olive oil. I will probably have some chocolate on Mother's Day. Hopefully I will have lost enough by then to earn that.

I am down 1.6. I have been logging food on my Fitbit dashboard ReLIGIOUSLY! If I am over my calories, I walk or dance to something on utube until I'm back in the 'green zone'. Like any sort of weight loss plan, the key is to follow it without excuses. Onward we go!!!!!

I’m up 0.4 but I was down just over 1/2 a lb yesterday, so I consider it a wash. I’m planning to eat mostly well on vacation this week but don’t have any specific limitations, other than not getting too drunk, lol
