I'm off the wagon this week 😬. Had to go to my parents in Sydney as my 89 year old, 45kg Mum has been hospitalised. Spending most of the day with her then rest of the time with my Dad who has dementia. Ive previously tried to stick to low carb when doing this but found it too difficult, so have just gone with eating whatever, which includes comfort food. Ah well, I'm not Wonder Woman, I'll restart keto when I'm back home. I hope everyone else has great success this week 😀

I forgot to weigh yesterday in a rush to get DH to an early doctor's appt. Today I was the same as last Wed. Considering Mother's Day dinner, I'll take staying even.

Bella, No one ever was able to follow a diet when visiting a hospital. Sometimes comfort food is the right choice.

Sunday weigh in for me this week, and I’m down 3.5lbs to a new 20 year low. I felt terrible on Tuesday, think I picked up a virus from my daughter - didn’t eat a thing and spent the day in bed, which was horrible but at least it seems to have had a weight loss benefit.

I’ve now lost over 36lbs from my highesr point, which has taken several years, as I’ve gradually changed my habits one by one. I have got used to feeling hungry every day, and I prioritise 30 mins exercise every day above everything else. I’ve become an even more grumpy person than I was before, but it does feel great to feel lighter. Overall I feel good. It helps a lot to hear from everyone each week. We are not alone in the struggle!

Bella you ARE a Wonder Woman, we all are with all the stuff we have to deal with. Wonder Women can have a day of eating comforting foods now and again. Try to give yourself non-food treatsas well, that is an even better habit if you can do it. I hope your mother and father are doing fine and the situation becomes easier. Sending love and light to you today. X

Scotbird, woohoo! Wonderful job, and they say doing it slowly is the way to go. Most importantly, you have changed your habits and your mindset, which will make all these changes so worthwhile. I understand what you mean about feeling hungry, before I wasn't really hungry, just bored eating, now I'm beginning to learn the difference between truly being hungry, or just wanting to stuff my mouth with something. Still struggle in the evenings, but of course that is wind down time, when I truly am most bored, so my thoughts drift to eating. That's the part I am working on hardest.

Up 0.1 but down 1.5 on Tuesday, we’ll see what next week is, this week was a bit crazy with scans, being called in early to “talk about weird echo results”, then getting the all clear to resume treatment and celebrating stable with Vietnamese and wine. Planning an uneventful and healthy week ahead.

Down 1 lb. Probably just a part of the bouncing around I do. Still I'll take it!

up .4, not surprising since there's lots of eating activities going on, but I need to reign it in!

up 1 lb or 1,5 as the scale is old school unreliable. But I could feel my gut heaviness this past week. Been having a salty snack binge every day after work- chips crackers etc. That's my downfall. That's what clogs up my digestive system. Have to keep those things out of my hands!!

Good job to the losers! And the maintainers!

DD brought some chips home for me (her leftovers). Yikes! And then there are all the upcoming eating opportunities from Friday to Sunday. Oh well...

I am down 1 lb which brings me exactly back to where I was pre-Mother's Day. I am on stay-cation for 5 days and my son is on vacation, meaning I won't be eating with him, so this may bode well for this week. The only challenge I will face is this weekend is my 25th wedding anniversary! so we will celebrate by eating out, but since my husband was diagnosed diabetic and is being super strict, I think I can do well.

BTW, my husband has lost 40 pounds in about 3.5 months. Now I don't need to lose 40 lbs, but if I did, I guarantee I couldn't lose it that fast. MEN!

Happy Anniversary TwoHobbies! Hope you had a great celebration!

Today's weigh in was the same as last week for me. Haven't had much vigorous exercise lately.😕 I've been feeling meh for a bit, and then on Sunday night woke at 2 AM to be greeted by my long lost period. Haven't seen her in a year and a half. Going to the dr this afternoon to see what's up.

Hope everyone has had a good week!

Falconer, I hope there's a simple solution. Good luck at the doctor's.

Congrats, TH, on reaching a new milestone.

Up 0.3 kg. I'll even take that given all the desserts I had this weekend.

I’m up 0.5 lb but I expected this as I haven’t made veggies a priority last week. Making adjustments this week.

Up 1. Not surprised considering road trip, eating what kids like, birthday party, etc. It was lots of fun, so worth it. GS don't turn 11 every day.

New to the forum. Started radiation today. Would like to lose 15 pounds. Eating to kill cancer - feeling better with plant based diet but not losing weight so need to do more exercise. I will no give up!

Oh no, we’re all up, all the way up! I’m up 2.75 lbs as well, since my last weigh in over a week ago, but I did manage to (just about) stay below 140lbs which is a goal, so I suppose I’m OK with it. I would really like to lose more but it is really really difficult, isn’t it? Constant discipline is required.

Happy anniversary TH, hope you had a lovely celebration with your very slim and inspirational husband (!)

I am in northern MN for the summer. Yesterday afternoon I attended a WW meeting that required dh and I to drive about 45 minutes. I was delighted with my weigh in. Down .2 lb. I wouldn't have been surprised to learn I had gained a few lbs. It's not easy to eat healthy when you're on a road trip. Nor is it easy not to graze on snacks at Happy Hour here in the resort/campground that is our summer home.

Again this summer we've joined a gym and have started going there for exercise. We also joined a golf club and have played once together. I will be playing with a women's group once a week and dh will be playing with a men's group. We both enjoy playing organized golf. On days I don't exercise or golf, I am committed to taking a walk or a bike ride. At age 75 I have to KEEP MOVING! It is so much harder to maintain a healthy weight than it once was.

I am hoping to get down to goal weight (160 lbs) this summer.

    Hang in there, gainers!

Ruth, love that cartoon. We can hope its water.

I had a good week, down 1.4 lbs. We did eat out twice for our anniversary week. I had sushi and cucumber salad one night and we both gave up our usual “dessert" of a mango bubble tea. The second event was Mexican. I selected shrimp tacos instead of the chorizo stuffed chicken that is my favorite. i did have some chips and guac but didnt eat the rice and beans. Those kind of compromises worked and i felt satisfied.

Carole you are so right that its hard to not gain weght on the road. Good work.

Falconer, I have heard of other people getting their period back. It looks like youve been off Lupron for about six months and now its just coming back? Darn our mysterious bodies. I am off lupron for a month in hopes of determining if i am in menopause but i am not sure i will 100 percent know even with bloodwork

TwoHobbies, yes, it's been just six months. So... wondering if that's how long it took to get the Lupron out of my system. Here's another weird thing. I had my last hot flash on Sunday afternoon. Haven't had one all week while having what seems like a normal period. Well my GP ordered a transvaginal ultrasound to be sure. Did your MO think one month would be long enough to notice a difference in your hormones? Good work on the weight loss and sticking with the healthy choices!

Falconer the truth is I dont think they exactly know but its assumed by my age I should be in menopause so I think they feel if bloodwork shows the menopause signs we are good. If you are on tamoxifen it doesnt matter, but you shouldnt be taking an AI if not truly in menopause.

  • Falconer
    Falconer Member Posts: 801

TH, so you're staying on the AI if you show menopausal numbers? It looks like it's been five years for you; are they recommending ten?

  • TwoHobbies
    TwoHobbies Member Posts: 1,532

I am at five years since surgery but not yet five of treatment. The aim right now is just to discontinue the Lupron. I had regular periods at 52 when I started treatment and no signs of menopause plus my mom didnt hit menopause until late 50s so they continued the lupron all this time. She would like me to stay on the AI for 10 but I was a recurrer so that plays into the decision. I am actually on exemestane now and havent had the issues I had on the anastrazole and letrozole so I am in favor of 10 until research is cle
