Geez, up a pound and I can't even blame it on Halloween. I think it was the beef ribs, but they were soooooo good!
JFV: Thanks for the "atta girl" last week. It means a lot.
Terry71: Looks like you'll be back in the game in time for Thanksgiving!!

Am running a day behind this week..... probably due to sugar overload!! Down 1/2 a pound... I'll take that!! Halloween has not been good for me!0

Me neither - Halloween and peanut butter for some reason.

Not officially weighing in this week - I had recon revision surgery yesterday and am pumped full of surgical fluids so I'm up 3.5 pounds. I know that's not real weight gain, so I'm trying not to worry about it. Surgery went well, so that's good, but I'm on exercise restrictions for the next several weeks. And I have a drain in, so hopefully that will help fluids drain out more quickly.0

Hope you heal up quick NetsFan!0

Happy began weight watchers on Oct. 5th, and got weighed in yesterday, and have lost a total of 7 lbs in 3 days shy of 1 month................considering I have to lose a "small toddler", that isn't a biggy, but at least I'm on my way................................yea

Patoo..............this is a real pain in the ass...........I'm 76, on Femara, and need to lose a small toddler..................you know this is going to be an uphill battle...........I'm only doing this so I can cut down on my estrogen levels.......................I am ER+, PR+, so every bit of blubber I have on this body works against me..............I thought, I'm taking this Femara crap, somedays feeling like a truck ran over me, and what are we doing "trying to stop the estrogen"................well if I'm gonna suffer through this Femara, I may as well do something "constructive" to help myself further..........................when I think back to when my husband would say "you really need to lose weight".......................but not that nicely.....hahaha.......he's dead now, not from my doing, although there were days I wanted to "kill" him...................I would think "nasty baStard"......................but he was right...........all my ailments, arthritis, bad knees, bad back, cancer, blood pressure, statin drugs................are a result of my "fat ass"................well I am going to try again....................oh whoa is me..............will let you know next wednesday.........I'm not going to get excited yet..........................hugs.

Ducky, you gave me a chuckle!
Here is something interesting from an arthritis website:
Being overweight, even just moderately, impacts weightbearing joints and can increase the pain of arthritis. Research has shown that during walking the hips, knees, and ankles bear three to five times a person's total body weight. For every pound a person is overweight, three to five pounds of extra weight is added to each knee during walking. In contrast, a ten pound weight loss causes 30 to 50 pounds of extra stress to be relieved from the joints.

OK got on the scale and I think I am just 169. Phew. I don't wear my glasses when I am on the scale and I weigh myself right out of bed. So, I could be cheating and still be 170. But, I'm giving myself a little hope. Anyway, feeling like I have remotivated myself regarding exercise. Still eating like a horse but starting to write down what I eat and be honest about the portions I eat. We'll see...

JFV - By hook or crook, you got the scale to read in the 160's - that's what counts! Woo hoo!! Ducky - I love your attitude - you can do this! Ruth - since I've lost some weight I find that my hip and knee joints don't ache as much, so that same theory may hold true for AI aches as well.
Down 1.8 pounds from 2 weeks ago. I didn't count last week's 3.5 pound gain cuz I figured that was surgical fluid that would go away, and it did. I was up 1.3 pounds two weeks ago, so I've lost that and a bit more. I didn't weigh Mikey since I'm not allowed to lift anything yet, so I can't report on how he's doing - but he's not getting as many walks with me down for the count, so we'll give him a weigh-in reprieve this week.
Loseit.com has made me realize how many calories you burn with exercise - I'm doing no exercise now, so there's nothing to reverse that little blue line each day. I see the surgeon again on Thursday (drain should come out then - hooray) so I'll have a better idea of what restrictions she'll have me on going forward.
Carry on everyone!

Down the 2 pounds I had gained a couple weeks ago from having too much fun and Halloween...now if only I can stay on the straight and narrow path!

Yea..............went to WW this morning...........down another 2 lbs.................I am one happy lady...................Good heavens I hope I can do this...............Nooooooooo......I have to do this.........Only problem is I saw a puddle yesterday, and wanted to jump in and swim up the street........................hey..........maybe I'm eating too much fish..........hahaha.................

Still not going anywhere!!!!! Why am I down (however little) every morning except Wednesday and Friday????? Up 2 lbs from yesterday - this is getting tiring (but I continue to push on).

I know how you feel Patoo! I am up a half pound this week (weighed in yesterday, just have not been able to post until this morning!). I DO know that I need to faithfully input EVERYTHING that passes my lips on my loseit site, but have been slacking there! My excuse this week is that I have my period...... that's my story!
It IS great to see so many 'losers' this week.... makes me want to try harder! Congrats all around!
Another week begins........................

Down ½ pound . . . I'll take it. Still up 2.5 lbs from where I started, seems I've been chasing the same 3 lbs for weeks.
Ducky: Congrats on all the weight loss in spite of everything! I had the same reaction to Femara. Told my doc it felt like I'd been hit by a Mack truck! Doc switched me to Arimidex (first time he ever showed he had a heart). I handled that better, but 10 months into chemopause by body decided it wasn't time yet. So I'm now on Tamox and doing OK, not great but OK. Geez, I can't wait to go through mpause . . . again!
Natsfan: Great day on the scale! Sorry the surgery is taking such a toll. I know you know the value of taking it easy for awhile, but hope you're back on your feet soon and drain free today!
JFV: Sounds like you're grabbing the reins! Ruthbru: Way to go! Patoo and fmaki: Hang in there. Just getting on that scale every week takes guts and proves our fortitude. We're gonna win (lose?) eventually.

No movement to report here. . Exercising well though! Eating pretty healthy but adding a few sweets. Can't lose weight and eat sweets, just doesn't work!

Hello, all.
Ruthbru, our exercise champion on the Arimidex SE thread, told me about your thread - so I'm lurking. Had my regular 6 month check up at Dana Farber yesterday, and I've GAINED 10 pounds since I last got near a scale, think it was Julyish. Full of excuses. I'm on the A Team, take an antidepressant ( SSRI) and am lazy. Whew. I was gonna say lacking in discipline, but it's lazy.
I laughed with Ducky, and I'm holding on to about a 50 pound "toddler" - which I'd say is now about 5 years old!!!!!!!!!! I live in a wonderfully rural community in western MA, spend all my time drawing, painting, reading - and have a beautiful dirt roads all around me, perfect for walking, hills, cows, organic farms. NO EXCUSES.
SO, I plan to "lurk" with you folks for a while, and soak up inspiration to get my body moving. Won't go into detail of how many times I've fallen on ice, or just tripped on air & messed up knees &ankles - really gotta get these muscles stronger. Off to read your Exercise thread now.
Thanks for the INSPIRATION! Sunflowers

Hi Sunflowers! Get some good shoes and get out there !0

Hi ladies,
May I join you, too? LOL
My onc just got on my case at my last visit about starting an exercise program and eating healthier. Like Sunflowers, I have no excuse.
I live in rural Illinois. I'm on leave, right now, from my nursing job at a free clinic.

I am keeping track of my calories using the PC version of FitDay. I need to keep myself accountable. Anyone else using Fitday software?
