Wednesday Weigh In

Up 2, to 162.5. Could it be that since I found a dress for the wedding that fits, I'm letting myself go? - honestly, I think it is the weekend that did me in. When I am careful on the weekend I lose weight, when I am eating and drinking and celebrating on the weekend I gain. Will work on that this weekend and see what next week brings.

Stayed the same. Grr.
BUT am feeling stronger now and have upped my exercise game this week. Rode 11 miles Monday and 12 miles this morning. I've been eating carefully too so I HAD BETTER SEE SOME RESULTS SOON!!!!! ;-)0 -
Stayed the same here too, but for me that is enough.
I've been gaining weight ever since the start of chemo, but it seems to have gotten worse since starting Taxol 3 weeks ago. Not sure why. I'm just glad to have a week of holding steady!
Thanks for creating this thread NatsFan! I find weekly weigh ins to be super helpful!!!

Stayed the same at 132.5. Happy because I thought it would be higher.

Another maintainer here. I was up, then down, and ended up same as last week.

Lots of maintainers and losers, wow! I'll join the club with 400 grams down today. Couldn't weigh in yesterday as I was on the TGV (fast train) from Paris.

Missed Wednesday again. Well just to report that I'm down. Will make sure I check in on time next week. See less of you all then.

Gained 1 1/2 lbs during the month that I was on restrictions after my eye surgery. (no bending, no lifting, no bouncing on the rebounder, make sure you don't fall, and stay out of the wind) Amazing that it wasn't worse. Got released to resume "anything that's not illegal" so we'll see if we can't get back on track.

"anything not illegal" - can I join you!
0 -
Sure. The more the merrier.

Cindy, anything not illegal sounds like a fun way to get back on track.
There's not less of me but maintaining.

Up .4. Ugh.

I've seen this thread and now am ready to make the leap and join in so I'm accountable! I gained about 10 pounds after TCH and then just H so when I would get weighed in before infusion and cringe (could stand to lose 30 pounds) the nurses would all tell me not to stress about losing weight until after TX was finished. Well that was a month ago so time to start!

down .5 to 162 - was hoping for more but I threw caution to the wind again last weekend and the scale shows it. Seem to have no trouble staying on track during the work week, but once the weekend comes... I'm too social I guess!
Welcome myleftboob!

down .5.
Hi, left!

Up 2 pounds. There was a little indulgence over St. Patty's day weekend, but not 2 pounds worth! I can't tell if it's Taxol or if my newly acquired chemopause has sent my metabolism into retirement.
Myleftboob ~ I'm glad to have a "gained 10 pounds on chemo" sister to commiserate with! Here's hoping we can take a big bite out of that gain by summer!

Same as last week, which is a minor miracle. I'll take it.

Gained two. On Saturday. Just Saturday. :-( (We went to visit our son at college.)
I need to abolish weekends. I always lose by Friday, and then WHAM!
:-(
However, I have biked over 40 miles this week and done Callanetics twice. SOMETHING positive should kick in soon......actually I am feeling more energy, so that's a plus. 5 weeks post exchange tomorrow and still hoping righty will drop a little.0 -
I was down earlier in the week when DH was out of town, but he's back and I'm back up to last week's 132.5. Maybe he needs to get a job where he travels.

hi everyone and welcome myleftboob. I gained 20 pounds over the course of TC chemo and it took me two years to lose it. But I lost it. Now I'm working on the fat that was there before BC tx.
Slow and steady wins the race. Down .5 today.

Down 1 lb - Yay!
myleftboob - welcome. Isn't it nice to have support (Nicole503) to know you are not alone.
Dulcigirl, having more energy is indeed a plus. It's about health, not stressing over the weight coming off. We can do it but it takes patience and conviction. Badger took 2 years - that's encouraging (thanks badger!)

My March 8 birthday did me in. Ate (and enjoyed) too much of my Death by Chocolate birthday cake. Had too many birthday lunches and dinners out. Shot up 7 lbs at my highest!
Today I'm back down to 157.5, my low pt. since joining WW last Oct.
I started making healthy (greenish) smoothies with fruit and veggies. Always include some kale or spinach or both. Also am adding a T. of chia seeds to the smoothies. I'm having one smoothie a day, either breakfast or lunch. I could never voluntarily give up the pleasure of chewing good food! Surprisingly the smoothies stick with me about 3 hrs. Part of my weight control problem is that my body seems to be a mean machine at digesting food and I get HUNGRY. Since most veggies and fruits are zero points on WW, the smoothie is a low-point meal.
Hope to see less of everybody as time goes on!

Well I've made a commitment to join this group and lose some weight. I'm a bit embarassed as I am much more overweight than you ladies - but I am putting it out there. I weigh 104 kilos / 230 pounds and I'm sick of being fat. I've been a yoyo dieter all my life and I need to take control. My oncologist has even suggested gastric banding and I really don't want to resort to surgery. I've lost weight before and four years ago I got down to 75 kilos / 165 pounds, kept that off for about 18 months and then it slowly crept back on. I've gained 15 kilos / 33 pounds since I was diagnosed - I'd like to blame the chemo & tamoxifen, but it's all me.
So this is the start of a new me - so hello. I look forward to getting to know you all.
Julie.

hi Julie, welcome! Hitting 200 pounds PFC was a wake-up call for me. That was nearly three years ago. Have lost 30 pounds (20 of chemo-weight and 10 of pre-BC fat) since then so it can be done, safely and enjoyably. I like eating too much to live on air. But the tamox makes it hard!
If you need additional support around diet and exercise, you're also welcome at the E-LAB thread (eating like a bird) and Let's Post our Daily Exercise.

Welcome Julie! Come over to the exercise thread Badger mentioned if you want some encouragement in that area. You are smart to take it off yourself instead doing surgery.....BLEACH, who wants more surgery?!!!!!
Badger, what are you doing up so early on Sunday morning?

Does anyone know of a moderate exercise thread? When I read of people biking 50 miles or running marathons after their 6 yoga classes, I think they're another species. I've always been pretty sedentary because exercise bores me to tears. I'm more in the 5 miles is a lot and one yoga classes is plenty group.

Lets Post Our Daily Exercise on the fitness forum. We have walkers, yoga people, hula hoopers, runners, skiers, Zumba, DVD doers (ie me)....you name it and somebody is doing it. (Shop and Sweat, Shovel and Sculpt, yard work, vaccuming....it all 'counts'.) Just a really nice supportive group of ladies at all fitness levels, treatment stages etc. Come over and check us out!

I'm just like you. I like to walk just need to get out to do it but always feel refreshed after. If the weather would just warm up a little! I plan on doing a yoga class once a week. I'm no athlete though.
