No - I ordered 3mg 90 tablets.  That should be ok I think.

We ordered from Biovea and waited and waited for over a week only to be told by email that they do not sell it any more.  DH bought some Bioglan brand from a Terry White chemist off the shelf @ 18.95 for 90 tabs but it only has a 6x written where there would be strength number. So I'm not sure how strong/weak they are and haven't noticed any changes within to judge one way or the other.

Sheila - that one is homeopathic - I used it for a few months - not as good as the real thing. How long ago did you order it from Biovea? I'm stupid, I should have bought some when I was in the UK, but I seem to be managing without it at the moment.

I got the homeopathic one too a few months ago - as Sue says - it's not as good as the real thing :-)

Biovea sent me an email saying they do stock melatonin - that was in response to my first email to them asking where it was as I couldn't find it.  Then I used Sue's link and found it - and got an email this morning saying it (and the vitamin d I ordered) was being shipped.  Will wait and see how long it takes to get here.

    Now I need to rant!

The past few months have been quite difficult, as I had to quit my job (too much stress) and it took a couple of months to find another one.  Because of all the medical bills over the past 12 months and not working, all our savings have disappeared.  That was ok - we were managing.  But about 5 weeks ago the car started playing up and it took a while for the mechanics to figure out I had a hairline crack in the head.  Had to get a new (reconditioned) engine.  That was $3,000 all up.

Money is so tight, I decided to get a small extension on my mortgage.  Now I don't earn what I used to, but with what DH and I earn between us, accoding to all the banks loan calculators, I should be able to borrow up to around $300,000.  I have asked for a $5,000 increase on a morgtage that is only $125,000.  They took 2 1/2 weeks to come back to me to say our earnings could not support a loan.

Doesn't make sense.  Firstly , the small increase decreases our payments, as it makes the loan slightly longer.  Secondly if DH and I both dropped dead tomorrow and had no super (which we do, just can't access it at the moment) the bank could sell our place off for the land value alone and still have nearly $100,000 left over.  Thirdly - a girlfriend just bought a house, and the same bank (which bank?) gave her a $250,000 mortgage and she earns $10,000 less than us and has 3 dependants!

I don't understand!  It seems that with that dx last year, everything has gone wrong.  I'm struggling with staying positive at the moment.  Arimidex has been causing all sorts of problems, some of which are not as bad this week, but it hasn't been easy.

Sorry - that's my rant for the week.

    Trish

    xoxo

Trishia - I'm with you on the depleted funds - it's cost me about 9 grand out of pocket for the 2 dx's. At least I got income protection while I was off work, but it's nice to be back on full salary.

btw - the melatonin took a month to get here from Germany.

Blow me down, I should have kept my trap shut last night.  Someone was banging on the front door at 8 this morning and it was a courier with a parcel envelope containing...........wait for it............ two bottles of BioVea Melatonin tablets!  They had come all the way from the USA!

The homeopathic tabs, 3-5, are to be chewed before bed, but the BV says just one per night, so apart from being cheaper at that rate, maybe they will be stronger too.

Great news Sheila - they are better - the homeopathic ones are nowhere like the real thing. How long ago did you order them? Really strange they said they didn't have them and now they turn up.

I think we ordered them going on three weeks ago Sue, don't quote me on that though.  We expected them to arrive pretty promptly afterwards but had to contact them in the end as we thought we had done our money.  I will have to check our credit card a/c to see if/when the money was removed.

Do you get yours from within Aus or are they from o/s too?

    Sheila.

Yes - DH was upstairs reading tax cases until nearly 1 and woke me up when he was closing the french doors upstairs. Just woke up, so I'll stay home - I'm usually at work by now. Don't forget it's an hour earlier up here though.

I forgot about the hour's difference in summer.  Well - not so bad then.  I was in bed asleep by 9.30 and didn't stir till 6 this morning.  That melatonin is wonderful stuff :-)

I think I'll start taking it again. The hot flushes and needing to use the bathroom wake me up several times a night.

I was going to work from home today, but now I won't even do that - I was up until 11 anyway and then getting woken up didn't do me any good.

It's funny the hot flushes are one thing that I don't find too bad.  I had been getting them for nearly 8 years before bc, and the Arimidex seems to have changed them a bit.  I still get hot (occasionally) but it's not as pronounced, and I get a "crawling skin" feeling with them which isn't nice.  But overall, that's one thing that's improved lol

I find I get one when I first get into bed, and then usually another one about half an hour later - that's what's been waking me up and making it hard to go back to sleep.  The melatonin seems to help go back to sleep almost straight away.

Yes - the waking up half an hour after going to bed is what happens to me at the moment.

Pleased to hear that you girls got your Melatonin.  It all comes from o/s so you need to order about a month before running out so you don't run out.

I've just been to see the Onc, and he's given me scripts for sleeping tablets and valium!!  Mind you I am freaking out a bit at the moment, and just can't seem to handle the stress like I once did.  He's also sending me to a psychologist who specialises in cancer patients.

He's adamant that Arimidex doesn't cause sleep problems though - he says it's all because of having to deal with cancer.  I pointed out that I didn't have a sleep problem until a month or two into Arimidex, and that's apparently just coincidence!

Sue and Chrissy I got my melatonin today from Biovea - it only took 9 days!! Wow.  I got the package from the PO and couldn't for the life of me think what I could have ordered from the US - and that's what it was :-)

Sue have you got some meds for the nausea? Ginger tea is also good to help settle the stomach as well. Having some pep in your step is a really good thing.

I hate ginger!! It doesn't really bother me much, it's only an occasional feeling - certainly not stopping me from eating :)
