Phew Midnight, sorry, I misunderstood the Hospital comment. All in all it is just a really tough situation that you are in.

My husband had to give up his degree in MicroBiology when he broke his neck hang gliding.

Your BIL has a great career to fall back on. It is a huge decision for you all.

I hope things get better for you.

No problem Ariom, its probably the way i worded it, hubby has said a few times, that the only time he would get a break, would be if he was in Hospital. sad really as he could be really sick and BIl would expect him to carry on. anyway thats it from me for now. hubbys outlet are the animals and me of cause. lol

That would of been hard on yr husband too with his accident and having to give up on his degree and hard on you as  well, as you got yr issues with yr health too. i am sorry you went through that and that yr  hubby had that happen to him and still i read needs care with a care giver.very hard.

Midnight ((((hugs)))) you sound tired and down in the dumps.

I sympathise with how you are feeling, it's the way I was when I was on Arimidex.  Too tired to do anything, my brain wasn't functioning properly either and work was a nightmare, just trying to get through it all.

I can also sympathise with the running a business.  The photography business has taken off, but that also means that the paperwork and organising of everything has trippled lol.  I seem to spend half of my time either on the phone with clients organising sessions or doing paperwork and (the nice part) sending out invoices.  At the moment I do my paying job full time, go home and spend around an hour and a half on the phone, half an hour doing paperwork, and then around two hours processing images.  It's a lot of work

But for me it's fun, I'm growing the business, and I have a business partner who is wonderful and pulls his weight.  I'm also feeling very healthy and that makes a huge difference.

You need to sort out what the problem is with your iron etc.  I think once you have that sorted then you will probably bounce back.  You also have a very demanding BIL, and I think you are a saint to put up with him.

Hang in there sweetie - it will sort itself out eventually.

    Trish

    xoxo

Thankyou Trish, yes you have that right. i think once my health bounces back, it will be better, for a better word, i am fed up.

Yes BIL is very demanding and contolling, this morning he found that an indicator had gone in his truck, instead of ringing Andrew,(Mechanic), he rings Hubby to ring him, now by the time he rang hubby, he could of already rung Andrew and told him. thats what i mean. its the same when he goes on long trips, he won't ring the people to say he is nearly there, like 15 minutes away, i have to do it, but i text them now. if they have cell phones. It's ridiculous really. But he will talk and talk to people who he wants to talk to,  I said, to him once, If his mouth was a shovel, alot would get done, as he was standing talking while we were trying to get a hard job done and i waited til he had finished talking b4 i said it as well,  and he  was not happy either, hubby told me and he said, if i was going to be like that, i  can pack my bags and move away, hubby told him, where she goes, i go also,  so you will have alot to do won't you,

MY mum said, what an idiot. she said, he is mad because you told him something he did not want to hear and laughed her head off at what i said.. That was just b4 my BC  DX. i will go out now and give Doggy some water, she drinks heaps of water. thank you for that Trish.

Midnight I love that saying "if his mouth was a shovel, he would get a lot done".  I have not heard that one before, that certainly would have set BIL back, he would not having been expecting that...lol

Quite frankly I think you are a saint for putting up with his nonsense.

Busy finalising the packing for Saturday - can't wait!!! We've booked a Mail Boat cruise out of Picton and a day bike ride around the wineries near Blenheim. Also got somewhere to stay in Blenheim for a few nights - after that we are playing it by ear. Just have to get through the 5 days of riding first and then I can relax and enjoy the scenery :)

The bad news is I had to buy a new chlorinator for the pool $1250!!!! It was installed today and was necessary as the old one was nearly 19 years old and a money pit.

Hi all, sorry Ive been mia. Too busy with work im afraid. Cant believe its already February, the time is flying.

Suzie, have a great time and stay safe on your holiday.

Midnight, believe me when I say I know its tough running a business. Ive been at it for nearly 10 years now and often feel like Im just treading water with all the taxes and paperwork needed. Try to stay as unstressed as possible, what will be will be and dont stew on stuff you cant change. Thats how I try to operate and most of the time I succeed. The businesses are not worth putting us 6 foot under hey.

Hope everyone is well, or as well as can be expected.Smile

Great to hear from you Linda.

DD and bub are home and doing well.

Off for my first zolodex injection today. I get a local first and it is like an implant.

All sounds good except it is $330 per month - oh sh#t. It was strange, my onc always discusses the cost of blood tests, scans etc but he kind of forgot to mention this one.....

Thanks Linda, its really tough, when the brother Partner won't pull his weight and expects everybody else to do it and wants to be the big boy and give all the orders and then when things go to s--t he blames everybody else, usually my hubby. His bussiness when its all hunky dory and hubbys when its having issues and never his fault and then will moan if hubby had not got a job on farm done, lately he is driving me silly.I am hoping for that the company we are contracted to will keep to there guns about getting new trucks and that will be it i think as we cannot afford as they alot of money. 80 grand  for a truck that they will expect us to get. Ours are getting old in the tooth and don't suit the trend now, even tho they still look good and travel well. I will just have to leave it with it with God i think and he can have final say.

Hi girls....I too have been M.I.A!

I haven't yet had a chance to catchup on everyone's posts but did catch that Sue is off on a wonder trip.....have a great time Sue x

And Kylie has a new grandchild......truly wonderful news x

Just wanted to share for those of you not on Facebook, the chemo isn't working & my cancer has spread to the liver & this morning I am having a bone scan to see what the damage is there!

I was to be going on a trial but that's a long story & I don't seem to qualify.

I see the onc on Tuesday to decide on the next plan but I'm feeling very deflated & emotional this morning :(

He did say 'we need to concentrate on quality of life at this stage' which doesn't sound too promising to me!!! He did say that it is progressing slower than usual for Triple Negative but it seems to be going pretty bloody fast to me!!

I have a couple of choices & at this point I'm leaning towards Xeloda for the quality of life reason, one of the other options was a chemo that would be weekly.....which would tie me down. The Xeloda is pills....2 weeks on, 1 week off.

But on a happy note, I had my beasties over from N.S.W. & we had so much fun....talked & laughed constantly....even forgot about effing cancer :)

Sorry, this is all about me.....needed to get it off my chest & I will catch up on all your posts over the weekend.

I know that whatever you choose - whether it's Xeloda or something else will be the right choice for you.

It's good you could have a good visit from your friends and a good laugh and talk - it's what you needed.

Sending lots of thoughts your way.

    Hi Karen

Glad to hear from you but so sorry and angry about what's been happening. It seems so unfair that you put yourself through all of this, hair loss, pain, etc, and the damn stuff doesn't work. I know that we would do it anyway, we will do whatever it takes to slow down this disease, but I feel really p..ed off on your behalf. My 2 month scans showed Abraxane was doing some good, but as I get closer to the next scans I am worried they will show progression. This is our life; such a roller coaster. Living one scan to the next as best we can.

Hopefully the next drug will knock if out for you. Xeloda was tolerable for me but I know there are a number of chemo options for trip neg.

When my doctor says 'quality of life' I try not to panic (usually unsuccessfully) because i know she means well. i know that there is no point doing a chemo that makes you so unwell you can't live a reasonable life, but I also want to live a long life. She is preparing me to start shifting the balance from long to quality. Fingers crossed I'm still not there yet, but I know the day is coming because she has said these things to prepare me.

Please know that we are thinking of you, and will happily listen to you vent and rage as much as you need. This is a safe place. If you don't feel like posting we understand too.

Hopefully you will start on your new plan soon, and will feel stronger as a result. I wish you all the very best.

    Love Angela

(I am on Facebook. Not sure how I find you but will work it out.)

Well girls I have my new laptop........after much looking and talking I have bought a Samsung with Windows 8. Now that is going to take some getting used to!.........lol. Considering I was still using XP I think I will be a little slow for a while. I spent a little time today getting it all set up, I just need to do the recovery discs and I will be able to start using it.

I had such a good time at my friends birthday party last night! My jaw is still sore form all the laughter. I didn't get home until 3.30am so am a little tired right now and think an early night will be on the cards. I do declare that I think I'm getting old!..........lol.

    Hope everyone is doing okay.

chrissy - have fun, navigating around your new toy.

suzie - enjoy your trip.  talk about not coming back.. ive done that before went away for 2 weeks and came back 3months later.

kazzie - damn cancer surely does suck big time but the positive side it sounds like they are onto it early.   'quality of life' is a term used very casually & regularly  in this world of cancer... yes of course you will have a great quality of life, out shopping and travelling and catching up with your besties.

if you decide on xeloda my experience so far its very doable, no hair loss but no hair growth, hot hands and feet for about an hour a day, tiny bit of nauseas but that could be from the other meds, overall a walk in the park compared to original chemo.'

love and thoughts to everyone and especially if you are doing it tough this weekend.

    xx

They only had one left at the clearance  and it was the display one and they had to take the display one off, they had 46 inch ones@25  bucks more in price and the girl said, its only an inch smaller and was quite catty, and hubby was thinking a long those terms and thought no stuff it. so he stuck to his guns. i said to him we could of taken the 46, he said, yea i was getting around to saying that to them, but she was quite catty, so i changed my mind. nothing but the best for you, you put up with heaps. It was a little awkward to get it as it was on the high shelf, but we got there, they helped to carry it out as we brought two rugs,  to wrap around it instead, of putting in the box. So its like watching a movie.

Hope everybody is fine and i am going to get my laundry ready for washing down the way. i have not got a machine as this house, has not got good plumbing and when we shift, we will get one, i dont mind the laundry, i have a good yak to people and read my mags.  and relax and its all done in one hit, washed, dryed and folded.

Midnight, Happy Anniversary!!! Sounds like you got a real bargain and you will get much enjoyment from your new TV.

Chrissy, let me know what you think of your new laptop. I have been thinking about getting one for a while, but not computer savvy and sitting on the fence a bit.

All is good here at home, except that hubby's liver is not functioning well as there may be some type of blockage. He has had lots of tests and they cannot find any tumors so that is a blessing. We are waiting for an appointment to be booked with the gastroenterologist. Hubby feels pretty good at the moment, so that is the main thing.

    Cheers

i am waiting for hubby to come and get me for the laundry, he out at farm at mo, laying some  poison for those nastys with long tails. ugly things, you get them on the farm, esp with farm food around and poultry food. Dam cats are scared of them or too well fed, ours here at home, one  was on our back lawn and  the cat ran the other way. we have a creek near us and get ther accasional one, but that was a biggy. the darn cat scared.  Holly our dog would got it if it had come her way, but she tied up. they creep me out.

Mandy I've had a laptop for years but it was so old that it was turning itself off every twenty minutes because it was overheating. I'd had it looked at numerous times but it never got sorted just got worse so that's what prompted me to get a new one. The one I had was Toshiba, very good but they are renowned for running hot so I've learned ( too late of course.....lol) and the new one is Samsung. Both companies have very good backup service that is easy to access. Neither of them are in the cheap range, there are cheaper ones but some of them are iffy when it comes to backup and on actually charges even though you have bought there product.

Windows 8 is Windows answer to Apple touch programming and is the way of the future having said that my new laptop is not a touch one.........I have and iPad for that if I want and to my way if thinking using a touch screen with a laptop would be quite awkward.

Pricing on these things goes more in what you actually want your laptop to do.........I need good graphics and speed and a burner so I got a very good processor, good storage and fabulous 3D capable graphics.

Also, the laptop is not what's going to drain your purse but the program's you choose to put on it..........obviously they all come with the latest version of Windows as they need an operation system but if you want an office program etc that's where they get their money.

Oh sorry, I've raved on again.......lol. Sure hope the docs get to the bottom of your hubby's liver problem.......it's scary when that organ is not working properly.

Midnight, I have a little dog that used to steel the long tails from my cats!!! I'd laugh as the cat would be bringing me a gift and the dog would steel it as soon as the cat put it down.

One day, Tink (the dog) stole a mouse from the old cat and I thought she had eaten it as it just disappeared. Some time later I saw what I thought was a piece of dry grass hanging off her chin whiskers and I bent down to grab it but she pulled away. I got hold of her to make it easier for me and to my shock, what was hanging from her whiskers was the mouse tail with the mouse safely hidden in her mouth so the cat couldn't get it back. By the time I found it, at least a half an hour had passed so the mouse was well and truly dead and a slimy mess from being in her mouth.........I just cracked up laughing and she just looked at me as much as to say " well?"

Hope your weekend has been a good one.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi all! Haven't had anything to post, but have been reading your posts. Sorry to hear about your Husband Mandy. I hope you get some answers soon, and that it is something easily fixable!

Midnight, you gave me a smile again with your description of the decision about the TV and the "snippy" sales assistant. I like your Hubby, only the best for you! He's a keeper!

Chrissy, love the story about the dog with the rat. My dog Dexter, named after the show because he has two personalities too! I call him Cheeky with a "U" too. He caught a rat at our old house and it took ages for me to get it away from him too. This wasn't like the odd other rodent he would catch and present to me as a gift.

Glad you are happy with the new computer. It's nice to have one that isn't overheating. Mine was the same, Colin got me a new Dell with Windows 7. I am fairly tech challenged, so I can mange this!LOL

The lake outside is a sea of pink today. The local yacht club is doing a fundraising day for BC. They were offering to take anyone who would donate to the charity for a sail around the lake. The boats are all covered in pink balloons, with pink ribbons tied to the masts, and everyone is dressed in pink. I didn't go down because it has been raining on and off, and quite cool today.

I went to the Farmers Market this morning, bought lots of organic fruit, took Dexter for a big walk, and have spent the afternoon pottering about the house.

Can't believe it has been seven weeks since my surgery.
