    Good news Mandy!!

Stinking hot here - I'm sitting here dripping sweat. We knew this would happen after the low pressure thingy went.

I'll be glad to be in the office tomorrow - worked from home today as transport was not guarranteed.

Mandy, that is sensational news, for both of you.

Chrissy, I went for my fitting today...thank goodness, no problems!

I am so chuffed, the prosthesis, which I think is the same as Trish's, is just amazing. It actually moves in unison with the real one and the bras are just fantastic. I also bought a cami that has a built in bra and has the pockets. It is so well cut that you'd never know.

I made an appointment for my first massage since the surgery for Friday. I can't wait. It is the one thing that makes me feel great every time. I have missed it for the past six weeks. I would love to get into some Hydro too Chrissy, and I'd love to do Belly Dancing. That would be a laugh.

Jenn, I hope that your holiday isn't ruined by the weather. Take care. As Chrissy said, it is nice just to have a change of scene.

Hoping all the QLD ladies are safe.

Don't envy you packing up to move Trish. We did it in June, sold one house, bought another and renovated that before moving 300km. What were we thinking!LOL

    A good night all round!

I had fun at belly dancing...and must try to practice before the next class. I would recommend it as a great way to relax.

Mandy doing the happy dance for you both :-)

Well I've finally done it.  I joined a gym!!  Start tomorrow.  There's a lovely little one just 5 minutes from where I work and a colleauge has been going there for a while, so decided it was time.  Will just start off slow and build up.  I need to build up my upper body strength and general fitness as well as lose the extra 15kg or so the dr wants me to.

I did have to laugh, when I was signing up the girl at the gym asked me not to take offence and asked how old I was.  Told her I turned 55 last August and she said I qualified for the "seniors" rate lol.  It's a pretty cheap gym, only $40 per fortnight for as many classes or use of the equipment as you want, but I get it for $29 per fortnight.  First time I'm glad to be classed as a senior.  The area it's in has a lot of retired people coming in, so it's not one of those trendy gyms that I'd be uncomfortable in.

Ariom, glad your fitting went well, the prosthesis is quite good isn't it?  Both Chrissy and Linda have the same one.  When we got together in Brisbane, Chrissy came up after dinner one night to the apartment Linda, Kate and I were sharing.  We all took off our foobs so we'd be more comfy.  When I phoned home and was talking to DH I told him about how we all had the same ones and had taken them off and he said "dont get them mixed up!!" lol

Have a good day every one

    Trish

    Hi everyone

Have been reading but not posting much. Pleased people are getting on well.

We arrived home from Nelson Sunday night, then grandchildren were delivered by other grandparents in the morning. Their parents were having a weekend away in Wellington. Had a good night and even though DH was evicted from our bed about 5am they both went back to sleep until 7.30. Had lovely day but they had tyo stay in doors as it was just too hot in our very sheltered back yard for them though they did have fun in the sprinkler for a while. Took them home for dinner and bed. DGS went off quickly but DGD was determined to saty up until Mum got home - by about 8.15 she was sound asleep on my knee. We went home and DD1 stayed the night there.

So have had lazy morning. We had a great time in Nelson but it was very difficult at times with my brother and sister in law. They have such strong religious views that there is always tension, please don't get me wrong as DH and I are very involved in church and church affairs but we believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs. DH was mostly good but things did get really tense on a couple of occassion when he commented on something my brother had said , he didn't intend upsetting anyone but my brother just exploded. Chrissy you know that my DH has a bit of a zanny sense of humour. Oh well thats families I suppose.

Our couple of days in Golden Bay were absolute magic. Meet up with an old school friend who is a scuplter. Her place is wonderful and looks out through trees to the sea. We had dinner with them then spent the last morning there and I bought another one of her pieces - will get a photo later. You should have seen us pretending our cabin bag was light!

Isn't it silly but already I am getting a bit nervous about appointments next week especially as I have several issues to discuss. I am sure all will be fine. I really thought that when I stopped Femara some of the aches would go away but I am getting terrible pain in my collar bone and shoulder as well as in one leg.

From the wharf at Nelson and the view from our motel at Pohara.

Must get dressed and get some work done.

What beautiful photos Alyson. I hope you get some peace of mind with your appointments.

Good on you Trish for joining the gym. I really want to get into some exercise but keep finding excuses - a 110km round trip to the gym seems to be the main one! Although we are in the boondocks there aren't many places to walk that aren't really rough bushland and there are no path areas along the main road. Our dog came back from the paddock last night with 6 leaches so that has turned me off the wet grass.

My youngest DS started High School this morning, he is so excited - I am feeling really lost.

Man she is is hot out today, we were up early getting  pigs ready to go to sale. man and the litle buggers played up, they were not going  up into that truck. wasted about 20 mins  rounding them up again, trouble is they are so dam strong and that the Bore is a big sod and i would not want to  get in his bad books. we finally got four and three left and that because some have abrasions caused by the Bore attacking them, he is very bad tempered.  he will be going one day, but  you need time and lots of food to keep him interested in getting to where you want him to go and more people to assist as it could be a temprementle adventure.

Mandy: glad yr hubby home and doing better, dam flies are bad this year too. gosh, went to launderette and i brought some lunch yesterday while waiting  for my washing, and the dam flies were flying into my face, so i brought some fly spray. they should have some repellent there to ward them off, we have automatic ones thru our house as we have animals and also that is dry and hot. Sorry got carried away there moaning about the flies.

Chrissy: Hope yr therapy goes well and you feel  a new woman again . must be  nice  and your manicure. gosh you will come out feeling like new.

Everyone i have not mentioned  i hope yr day is sensational and to the girls in Queenland, stay safe.        hugs

Aly, that water looks  delishous right now, almost to jump off that warf and cool off. Aly i find with my mother, she is a christian, and i have been in the church all my life, but i find that when she thinks she is right, you cannot  change her view, she as a closed view to what she thinks is right and you cannot reason with her. so yea they are hard to convince, there are other  ways of looking at things.

Ally what a lovely spot.  And no it isn't silly starting to get anxious about your appointments next week, we all do that.  Will be keeping everything crossed for you though.

I went to my first gym session this morning, and it was quite good.  Looking foward to getting fitter and trimming down some.

    Have a great day everyone.

did some looking into getting a new laptop today.........mine has decided that it needs to go to laptop heaven......lol. It just keeps on overheating and turning itself off every twenty minutes or so and is really starting to annoy me. I will receive a very small amount from my mothers estate so I have decided it is enough to get a new laptop. Although it won't be through for a while yet I have put the bite on my DH for a 'loan' so I can acquire the laptop sooner........lol.......I'm not impatient or anything.......lol. There was in the conversation with DH regarding this matter a mention of interest.........I told him the only interest he was going to get is a kiss and a cuddle........he just laughed and said 'fair enough, I can live with that'. Then we both just cracked up........lol. I can't wait to get one that processors things a tad faster that the one I have now.......this one really is a dinosaur..........I shall probably turn into a downloading idiot......lol.

Aly those pics are gorgeous! What a fabulous spot for a holiday!

Yay Trish! On yer girl for getting into the gym! Hard to start but once you get going it great!!!

Kylie sure hope your son enjoyed high school. It's amazing how quickly they settle in to the new routine and seem so grown up all of a sudden.........the first year of high school sees many changes in them......they go from our babies to young men seemingly over night.

Mady how are you feeling and how is your DH? Sure hope he is feeling much better now.

Ariom I'm so glad you got through your fitting okay.

Hoping the rest of you girls are doing just fine. I think I'd best head to bed as its one thirty am.......where does the time go?......lol

    Love n Gus. Chrissy

Liv I've been looking at the Toshiba Touch or a Samsung. Although I really need to see them in person so I'll have a look next week when I go down to the city. I have a couple of friends who have a computer store and I like to support them when ever possible but she is telling me to go to Harvey Norman as they are having a great sale at the moment. She also gives me great advice on what I need to do what I want to do with speed and ease of use.

I've been posting from my iPhone for ages and for the last six or seven weeks from my iPad but I still need a computer of some sort. I like to be mobile so a laptop is best.

Lol Liv, that's the story of my life....lol....always in the wrong place at the wrong time but never in the right place at the right time.........lol........se la vie!

Love n hugs. Chrissy. ps. Now I really do need to go to bed its after 2am!!!!

Hi Chrissy, yes, the fitting went well and I am loving the new foob!

I just had to replace my laptop too, same problem with the overheating. I am not computer savvy, but Colin is, thank goodness. He bought me one from Dell who had a great online deal, with extra three years in home warranty, all up $750.00. Might be worth a look. We have bought for our busiiness from them before and found them to be really reliable.

I am off to the Pink Ladies of Paynesville meeting today. My first since my surgery, can't wait to tell that woman who tried to scare the life out of me about the Sentinel Node Biopsy that mine was a breeze! Then off for my first massage since surgery. I can't wait, I have been using massage for my Rheumatoid for about 14 years and rarely miss my fortnightly appointment. I am so looking forward to feeling loose again. Lots of firsts this week!

I am so envious of you Trish. I'd love to be hitting the gym. My neighbour asked me if I would like to go to Water Aerobics with her when she gets back from two weeks holidays. I just hope the pool isn't too cold because my Rheumatoid kicks in if I get in to cold water. Won't know till I try though, so hopefully I will have my new silicone swimming foob by then.

Gorgeous photos Alyson, so sorry there was tension with your relatives, so not what you need.  Would love to see the piece you bought from your friend.

Oh Kylie, your youngest has started High School, I can remember that feeling too. Doesn't time fly I remember it feeling like no time since starting primary. My Daughter is 35 now, and I still can't believe it.

Hi Midnight, love the stories about your animals. What are you up to today?

Well, off down to the bakery to buy something for the meeting. I rarely bake these days, so they will have to have a bought treat!

Take care everyone, have a great day!

lol I am being lazy, well gotta go  and get some money to pay these serves for there sevices for the month, its the first thing they asked, WILL THE MONEY GO IN TONIGHT? I would too after month, we paid monthly, pain at times. yesterday we got ten cows away and the ugly bull, who used to be a lovely pet, lay at yr feet, but he growed up, he destroyed two fences, demolished the tin off the top. he weighed in at 1500 kgs and man if you saw whet he did with the tin, God help you if he cornered you. i went and stood by the vehicle, quick exit.hubby says he is playing, he is bored. God help us if he was angry then, i was very nervous about  putting him into the race to the transport truck, but the guys are professional and took the tags for the works and said they would tag him as  our yards were only tempory for the day, shoot he was shaking the truck, i hope it stayed together. I got into the van while they were getting him there into truck. i was surprised he went in so quietly, mind you he had ten heffas un there, keep him interested. I was so shit scared.and breathed a sigh of relief at his departure. i wont miss him. he will be more to us  gone. th livestock agent said, a couple of grand. he was a huge so, the head would weigh heaps. so only the calves left now and one small hefa. two pigs sold other day, two didn't, we said, if they were not going for a reasonanble price, we will bring them home, not giving them away. too much hard slog gone into them. i think the sow will be due any day for some bubbys. we have a pet pig, we call babe, he is getting a big babe as well. will get rid of his old man and that will be a nervous time. another bad tempered sod and use babe as the stud. he is very quiet and cuddly. anyway i am taking it easy today. Thankyou Ariom for telling me you enjoy my animal stories, i don't want to bore anyone, sometimes i think that it could  be a minor distraction from talking about health issues and i know site is designed to be able to talk about  our cancer issues, but if i try and add something into it like my animals, it may be interesting to somebody else. We would love to  have an animal adventure park, but so much red tape now, all the people, like the maf and you have to have this and that, it would be chaotic. The red tape puts you off doing anything now, all politics. have a good nite ladies.

Oh my gosh Midnight, that bull sounds mean. I would be running a mile.

Never boring, you write in a way that paints the picture. It is very interesting, and a great diversion from the health issues as you said!

One of the girls who comes here to help out as attendant carer for Colin wants a pig for a pet. She has horses, dogs and an assortment of small animals, her husband is worried he'll get home from work and there will be a pig in the yard. I am willing to bet it'll happen.

I had a good time at the meeting this morning we had a wonderful lady speaker there who became blind seven years ago at the age of 80+. She had her guide dog Skye there and gave an interesting insight into both the trials of blindness and the joy of having this wonderful companion.

We all compared Foobs, and discovered that most of us have the same one that some of you recommended to me.

Everyone was interested in the Amoena Cami I bought. It has a built in bra with the pockets in it. I just love it, it is so comfy. I am going to buy a couple more.

I had my first massage since my surgery this afternoon, and it was sensational. The lady that I go to extended my one hour appointment into an hour and a half as a gift for me coming through the surgery so well. I am so lucky to have found her in this small town.

Well, it is dinner time, and I am so tired today so it will be an early night for us tonight.

    Take care every one!

Midnight I love reading your stories. They brighten up the day and I look  forward to them.

    Ariom your massage sounds bliss.

I went to the oncologist yesterday. He is such a sweetheart - I was in there for ages.

My tamoxifen metabolising tests came back saying I would have to increase my dose for it to be effective. Even on the paperwork from the pathology it explains that some studies don't believe the test is effective but that others do. After huge discussions about pros and cons I am going off tamoxifen. I will get a zoladex injection next week to suppress my ovaries and start on Aromasin in a few weeks after side effects are checked.

I am happy with this decision as I was keen on having my ovaries out and this is a good trial.

Thankyou Kylie for the encouragment with my stories. i was as i said, wondering if they were boring people. when the time comes and i have them, i will tell them, wish i had taken a photo of that huge bull, Gosh when we move the bor(pig) that will be an experience in its self. but i think we need two or three men as well and a gun ready incase. I can't run fast. Lol i said, gosh Babe our pet pig was bad tempered and hubby said, just like his old man, i said your not a pig, lol  Hubby said, thanks honey, i was not referring to my self, i was talking about the bore, oh sorry, lol ,he said, now i know what you think of me  lol, bad tempered old pig, but he knows i was only kidding and he had a grin on his face, my hubby, not the pig. sorry i am being silly now. moving that guy will be very tense.

I suggested to the hospital Onco about an ovary removal and he looked at me as though i had lost the plot. He said, it does not gurantee any more protection as other parts of  the body produce estrogen as well, i was talked out of that idea very quick, he said a pill a day really is not much to  woprry about and its very effective on most of the population, a aprt from an injection, 3 monthly. Na not that, i will  have the pill.

Ariom, yr care giver sounds like my hubby, he would have a pig in our back yard, but hubby and i  live in the city, bro in law is on farm and hubby works with animals, we would be  not allowed a pig in the resdential area, too much smell, the neighbours would moan and they do smell,  they should be on a farm. they are very clean animals in themselves,  but alot together does create a stench and i am referring to pigs, not the neighbours.lol

Midnight - I like your stories too, great to read about lots of different topics

Trish - I hope you didn't end up sore after your gym workout, how often are you planning to go?

Ariom - Water aerobics sounds like fun and should be good for arthritis and lucky you having a long massage! I can't wait to book one when I'm through radiation and can lie on my stomach.

Kylie - The youngest starting high school is a real milestone for you. My sister's eldest started primary last week and she was sad that he was no longer her little baby but now a little man. He wasn't too keen on starting and I need to check how they got on.

Very interesting about your Tamoxifen result.... I had the blood test last week so it will be interesting to see whether I too continue with the plan to start Tamoxifen or change to something else. A big thanks to Jenn for telling us about the study and test.... bet to be well informed.

To everyone else - have a great weekend!

My eldest GS started year twelve this week but only has three subject for the year as he did two subjects while in year eleven........smart little devil!.....lol. I told him because he only has the three that means he has more time to spend on each of them so there in no excuse for not getting A's in all three.......he just looked at me with a sideways grin on his face and said " sure Oma, anything for you" and then he laughed. I'm wondering if he was pulling my leg?..........lol. His brother started year 10 so it's a full on year for him as well. I can't believe they are growing up so fast.

Midnight I also love your stories.......they always make me smile.

Oo Kylie, such a good thing you had that test done! It sounds like it should be done for everyone taking Tamoxifen otherwise you'd never know if its working for you or not. Hope the Aromasin does good things for you.

Mmmm according to the weather bureau summer will return next Tuesday with a top temp of 35........what the???!! Yesterday was 16 and today is not much better but 35 in just three days?........you've got to be kidding me! What the devil is happening to our weather pattern?! Don't get me wrong, I love the cooler weather as it allows me to function better but I just wish it would make up its mind.

    Have a good weekend all!

WOW Kylie, you are really on the ball with this. I still haven't got my results back. I have an appt with my onc on the 14th so will get them then. Will let you know how I go...

Having a lovely time up here in Port Macquarie :-) Took my eldest daughter off for a massage this morning, then my middle daughter and I are meeting up, for lunch, with a woman I know from online and her daughter who has Down Syndrome like my middle daughter.

We went to the circus last night but the storm came over just as it was about to start and it was cancelled. Waiting to hear back from them about being able to rebook for this evening.

Tomorrow is our last day here before heading home on Monday. Have had some challenges with our son who has decided he doesn't want to do the degree that he has been wanting to do for 2yrs and that he got into. Now he's decided to do a different degree which, funnily enough, is at the university his girlfriend is going to... Seems he put in for a second round offer and got it but he was supposed to enrol in person YESTERDAY. I think he actually thought we would just drive him back to Sydney! Anyway, we didn't (ya think?) and so he (and girlfriend who is on holiday with us) was pretty tense yesterday until they got back to him to say he can enrol next Friday. I'm having a hard time acting happy about this change :-/

Everyone seems to be busy around here, which is good. Hope anyone going through treatment is feeling OK :-)

Chrissy. we doing the same thing, gets really cool and night you need all the blankets and then  the next week you are that dam hot, you need a fan to keep you cool, last night was un-comfortable, tho i think it was the weather, i sometimes i wonder if i am having night sweats or not from the tamoxifen, but i was laying there and the sweat was poring off me, the back of my neck and face were wet with sweat. I like the cool weather, not bone chilling stuff, just the stuff that makes you  function easier. Bloody cockatoo is making a din, he needs his special k cereal, he loves it with berries and i put extra almonds in it, he makes a din til he gets it, funny bird. i used to call him Bam Bam, now its cocky. i gave him some carrots other day and he got one in his beak and spat it out across the avairy, like, you know what you can do with that,  and then picks the cornflackes in his claw and he  gobbles it. funny. the carrot was not what he  wanted. He likes what he likes.

Trish, good on you for joining a gym.  I enjoy the treadmill, cycling, weights and pilates when I can get to the class.

Kylie, good move to change to an AI.

Jenn, what course is your son changing to?  Don't worry too much as any study is good study, especially at that age.

Hi girls - been busy packing - I must have ironed nearly 30 items of clothing today. Didn't do a final bike ride before we go - the ironing took precendence. I like to iron everything as it fits in the suitcases better. Still got lots to do before we go, but I've got all week to do it. We leave Saturday afternoon - this time next week we'll be in Christchurch!!

If its not one thing then it's another but I guess that's what life is all about.

Sue I cooked a lamb roast tonight as your talk of yours last weekend got me thinking.....lol. It was soo good I wonder why I don't do one more often and there is a nice lot of cold meat left for sandwiches......yumm! Expensive to start but if I count how many meals I get from it, it works out pretty cheap for the two of us.

Have a good night and an even better day tomorrow all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi Chrissy, sorry to hear you have had an ick day. I get terrible pain from damage from Rheumatoid meds. Reflux that just won't stop sometimes. Is that your problem too? I have a permanent stash of chewable QuickEze everywhere at home and in the car. I have tried every Proton Pump Inhibitor, but always end up back on good old Tazac. Get tested for Barretts Syndrome every couple of years.

Love the sound of the lamb roast too, I haven't made one for years, but love lamb sandwiches.

Midnight, so you have the tummy troubles too. Have you got ulcers? I had two from those Rheumatoid meds, I called them Heckle and Jeckle because they gave me so much angst! I managed to cure them by taking probiotics for a long time. Wouldn't go a day without them now. They have made such a difference to my health. That awful Methatrexate really messed with me for over seven years.

Kylie, a new Grandson for you. How wonderful! Sending you and yours all the very best for a swift and easy birth.

Suzie, have a wonderful and safe holiday in NZ. Congratulations on all that ironing for the packing it sounds exhausting.

Jenn, you'll be on your way home tomorrow, wishing you a safe trip. I hope things weren't too strained with your son, and the holiday was a relaxing one for you.

Tammy, I must admit it was a bit strange lying face down on the massage table for the first time with one boob, but it turned out just fine. We folded a towel and evened me up! It was such a relaxing massage I didn't wanted it to end. Another one booked for next Friday.

    Take care everyone! Goodnight!
