Becc.....good luck today back at work...:) Also, I love your photo.

Alyson....your quilt is beautiful & quite the family heirloom... did you make it for your daughter & how long did it take to make?

Chrissy...sounds like getting your new cupboard is good opportunity to have a throw out! So glad for you that you've finished the dream catchers & especially happy that your daughter loves them...:) How about your outfit, have you started on that yet?

    Racy....nice to hear from you.....:)

I went shopping for baby furniture yesterday & bought the cot & change table for grandmas nursery..... Poppy is currently painting the room, hoping to get it all together sooner rather than later 'just in case'!......

Going to catchup with my friend this arvo who has had a relapse of Myeloid Leukaemia.......it is so sad as they've told her she probably only has weeks....:(

She hasn't given up yet though & is an amazing lady.....50 years young & too young to die.

We always have a lovely chat & talk about things we couldn't talk about with anyone else.....it's going to be so hard when we lose her & I think it might take a bit for me to pick myself up again.... Anyway, concentrating on now & enjoying special time together :)

Beautiful weather here this week so might have to spend our time somewhere in the sunshine....

    Have a good day ladies.

    Trish, I've answered.

Beccc a bit late in the day for me to be wishing you good luck so ill say I hope it all went well for you and you got back into the swing of things quickly with no hiccups.

Oh Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about your friends relapse..........I know you will miss her terribly as you sound very close. Come cry on our shoulders......we don't mind, honestly!

I have a few thoughts for an outfit for me, I was going through all my crochet patterns and found a beautiful pullover that would look stunning! So, last night I started it in the same colour as the bridal train that I did as I bought way too much thread.....lol.....and I thought I would team it with a simply flare skirt and cami in a soft mushroom pink. I can make that as well with problem. I will have to adjust the top pattern as the thread being used is half the thickness of the pattern recommendation and of course the needle is smaller too so the motifs are only half the size so I will have to double I think but it will still look lovely. I'm giving myself two weeks to complete it and if its not done then its a shopping trip to the city for something else.

Well, best get back to it as its not going to magically appear.......lol.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Kazzie, sorry to hear about your friend. I agree to make the most of the time you have together. If only miracles were more common.

Chrissy, what you suggest for your outfit sounds lovely. You are so creative!

Jenn, I'm holding my breath (figuratively) till Friday. You will be great!

Chrissy....your outfit sounds lovely, I really like the sound of the colours. Looking forward to pics.

Racy....thanks for your caring words.....:) 💜🌺

Becc......hope your return to work went well, look forward to hearing about it.

My son is off to to Africa next week for a weeks work.....massive money but I'm a nervous wreck & hope to god nothing untoward happens. He has to have 9 immunisations!! And has been warned by the doctor he will conned to have sex for money by disease ridden women......yuk, what a country to live in. We really do live in the lucky country....

Kerry & I spent a lovely afternoon together in the sunshine. She can't drive so I picked her up & we went for coffee & sat in the sun & chatted. She loves to get out & I could see & feel the joy..... She is an amazing lady & still hasn't given up...:) She says she still doesn't 'feel it' happening. Hoping & praying for a miracle....she will be turning 46 in 3 weeks......how unfair can life be? :( 😰👎

Quiet on here, hope everyone is just out enjoying themselves.

I'm off for lunch with my sister today.....:) 😜👍

Hi Girls, well have had a very eventful time. when do i not?. Took hubby to Doc re, his burns, they were getting much more painful. The doc took one look, rang the Hospital and he had surgery monday night, the foot was infected, the thigh not so bad,the umentional parts. ( private area) was a mess and he has come out tonight home, but feeling  very bad nausea. the pain there. was that bad monday night, he was given morphine and that was not even doing alot of good, but at least helped. i could see him so much pain, it was terrible. The down below area has always been enlarged, so when wounds heal, he  has been put on urgent list to get the fluid drained off.   so he will be having another operation in a month to get that attended to. , but they want  to wait til it is healed first.  anyway,   i will catch up with you all. xxxx

lol, yea  i know, but its actually the scrotum. (not that)they doing scan first we just hoping nothing nasty,  we have enough trauma. he has been too scared to do anything about it and too embarrassed as well, but as he has this happen, it was no getting away from it. boiling water over them did not help matters, with pain, but will solve other matters i hope. Good night Girls.

We went to feed the pigs,  tried to get Hubby to stay home. but his DAM BROTHER. said, he has to go out and supervise whats going on out there, with the young guy doing  it, but Hubby was so sick, he is getting bad nausea, we had to ring the mechanic guy to get us home as hubby could not drive, i dont drive either, but this morning BIL rings us us at 5, then he rung at 6,30 and then at SEVEN, kept waking us up, told us hubby, tomorrow morning as Auckland truck broke down, things will be  Chaotic and that he would have to struggle in to help load the trucks. hubby cant even walk properly, as the burn on the right foot was very infected. but the nausea is the thing, the burn was down the right side of his body, inner thigh, foot and groin and of cause the  other area. i feel very sad, that  he is going thru it and that i have to keep brother  from pushing him. he manipulates him. i try and be firm, but he is hard work and i am starting crumble under the  pressure, so i am going  to be a little while before i come back in here as i want to get him right.  i love you girls, but alot is going on i  will be back though. I hope you can manage to keep BIL off hubby's back (and yours). He needs to be the bigger person and take the load for you guys now.

I hope things get better real soon (((hugs)))

Hi Aussie sisters! I don't post here much, but had to say something to Annette- she hasn't been on the kiwi thread too much lately- I can see why!

Hope you are all well- I love reading here, sorry I don't post too much.

I'm having a pmx on 17/9 (got sick of being lop-sided & for peace of mind) and I'm knackered from my job- but apart from that, well.

    Take care

    Hi all

Annette sorry to hear about all your troubles, hope things get better soon.

I have applied for 4 jobs now, I feel good that I'm finally doing something and hopefully soon will be able to tell my work to stick their job. I had today off and did some more gardening, maybe I'm getting my energy and drive back after my cancer. I haven't felt so positive for a few years.

Jenn - keeping everything crossed for you.

I've posted on the Sydney get together thread - Delvzy can't make it.  Is there anyone else out there who would like to come along to Sydney 29 and 30 November?  We'd love to see anyone that can get there.

Oh Annette! I do so hope that your hubby's tests come back okay. That brother in law of yours needs shooting!......what an uncaring, selfish person!!! I am amazed at your patience with him. He really needs someone to sit him down and point out that life and this world does not revolve around him there are others to be considered. I really feel for you both, so much happening. Please take care and know that we are all thinking of you and your DH and praying that all heals well and test come back clear.

Jenn? Any news! Did your presentation go well? I sure hope so.

Awe, what a shame Delvzy can't make the get together. Maybe the next one.......always thinking ahead here.......lol.

Well girls, I've had to change the colour of my outfit as the mushroom was not available so I have chosen mint which I think will look even better with the latte of the top. I have quite a few of the medallions needed for said top done and am continuing to make more until my pattern paper arrives next week. I intend to draw the size and shape I want on the pattern paper and then fill in the way it looks best with the medallions on that pattern before connecting them all together. So far so good and I'm thinking it could turn out reasonably nice.......at least it will be unique......lol.......just like me.....hahahahaha!

    Have a good evening all!

So my presentation went REALLY well. The subject they gave me was Secrets of Good Project Management and the 3 project managers in the room were nodding to my dot-points. They said I would hear back either this afternoon or on Monday - but no call this afternoon, so I guess I'll hear on Monday. Honestly, if someone else gets this I will be amazed (and a little depressed) at the calibre of their candidates. I rocked all my interviews for this!

I have put in an application for another position - still a research position, but based at one of Sydney's major hospitals. Should get an interview at least for that one since I met all of the selection criteria.

I'm logged in on an actual computer for a change girls. Usually by the time I come home from work I am so tired that I only have energy to sit on the couch and use the iPad. But I had a few tasks to do on the computer today so I can type a whole lot more to you all.

So, for the last 8-9 weeks I have been watching my food intake and upping the exercise. I have been wearing a pedometer everyday and trying to get in close to the recommended 10000 steps - and I've been doing it. Not an ounce of weight-loss though which is very depressing.

And speaking of depressing - over the past months I have been finding myself swinging so much into depression (sad days). The problem is that it's not everyday and the days I feel like that I certainly aren't making doctors appointments. I know this is not good - but I'm so busy I don't have time to deal.

Work is crap! I'm up to my 4th line manager in 18months due to people leaving and the restructure. My new line manager and I just don't work together so well. I'm feeling disenfranchised and demoted. I feel like crying on Monday mornings when I wake and realise I'm facing another crappy week. Please keep all those fingers and toes crossed that I get offered this new position on Monday. The people there are so nice and "normal" compared to the people left where I am.

    Love you all, Jenn

Jenn, wishing you the very best with your job applications. You are clearly well qualified for whatever jobs you apply for.

Regarding depression, are you on medication or seeing your psych at the moment? You know this is treatable so don't neglect yourself or suffer pain.

Maybe a Monday off would help as well.

    Best, Racy x.

Jenn happy to hear that you rocked the presentation and I've got everything that is possible to cross, crossed for you! Here's hoping that phone call on Monday is a positive one.

Jenn your depression is so normal but it doesn't help that your work place environment pulls you down as well. Never mind about not making a docs appointment when you feel down but make sure you mention it and ask for something to help you through........its no big deal if you need a helping hand to feel more normal and on an even keel. I'm also sure that Tamoxifen is not helping in that department either.

Jenn, I really feel for you on the work front, we spend so much of our lives at work and we deserve to be happy there, as Chrissy has pointed out it is only normal that being unhappy at work would bring you down.  Do get some help if you need it.  Sending you good wishes for Monday's news Smile

I was unhappy in my old job but as I had a lot of sick leave owing to me I stayed, then just before I went on holidays my position was made redundant so the decision to leave was made for me - a good thing really.  So Aussie, it seems that we'll both be job hunting at the same time!  It does take a lot of energy so let's keep an update going here to help with the motivation.

Kylie, great to hear from you, I hope all is well with you....

Chrissy, I love the sound of mint and latte, can't wait to see the photos....

Delvzy, sorry to read that you can't make the get together....

Annette, thinking of hubby and you, take care....

Now a little birdie just sat on my shoulder and whispered to me that we have a birthday girl in our midst!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRISH! Yay!!!!!!!!!!

Just had to let that out.......lol. I do hope you have had a most wonderful day and an even better night to come!

WownTammy! Your pics are great and it sounds like you are having the best holiday and seeing some fabulous stuff! More pics please......we want more!.......lol.

Jenn keeping the fingers crossed for good news on Monday!

Aly, when are you off to the USA and Canada? I know it's soon like in a few days. Hope your packing has gone well and you've managed to fit everything in.......lol. Have a great trip and give those grands loads of love n hugs which I know you will.

Well, if I say so myself, this top I'm doing so far is easy......doesn't look it but it is, most of it is done in medallions and they are now almost done. Once completed I have to work out the placement and then put them all together. I'm looking forward to seeing just what it will look like once complete but that can't happen until I receive my pattern paper which, so I'm told, has been dispatched so I should get it late next week.....yay!

Much milder weather here today, still a bit overcast but the temperature was reasonable pleasant.......spring is definitely on its way. I've just lit the fire as I know once its dark it will cool down considerably.

    Enjoy your weekend all!
