Annette I was so tired last night I went to be early......needless to say I was awake at 5.30am this morning. I actually beat him up this morning. You got the story as he is usually first up and he has a very quiet morning routine so, seeing as how I was up when he got up I didn't interrupt his routine. The volume is still down but maybe tonight I'll turn it up again........lol. It's been very peaceful........lol.
Cupboard back is done!!!! Yay!!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
LOl, chrissy, for a moment, when you said, i beat him up, you gave him the bash, lol, chrissy must be cheesed off lol, beating her hubby up. then i realised you got up early than him. gee. i though you must be feeling physical. lol. oh dear, i am a numb nut, lol

Lol Annette.........mind you sometimes I think he deserves a good beating but I'm not that good, he could flatten me with 1finger if he chose.......lol.......so I'm not brave enough to even try giving him a beating. Sometimes we just need to read things twice to get what is written........you always manage to give me a good laugh!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Annette, I read it the same way too.....I thought, wow, Chrissy must have really lost her head! However, on a second reading I was relieved that things hadn't degraded to a fist fight :-)

Hi all,
I'm busy and stressed, but am reading along each day even though I'm not writing much. I keep you guys as a sanity break for myself every now and then.
I've got an interview on Thursday this week, and I had a text message from my friend that works at the place that didn't pick me and she said she's been told they have definitely applied to create a new position for me and they will know this week if they can offer me something. So, it's not all bad...
Jenn

Hi Jenn, wishing you the best with your job search .
0 -
Wow Jenn! Fingers crossed for Thursday! You must really have impressed the other mob if they want to create a position just for you.......good luck on that one as well! You never know, you may have to choose which one for yourself!
Tammy, it takes an awful lot to make me totally loose my cool.......it's probably only happened a half dozen time in my life and for that I am very glad coz its really not a pretty sight.......lol.......I get more peeved than anything else as I find real anger a wasteful emotion........I'd much rather laugh!
I have nine of thirty three hearts crocheted to replace the ones I have already done.......if I keep this rate going I will be finished by tomorrow night!......yay!
Love n hugs all! Chrissy0 -
My hand is up as another who read it the wrong way too, Chrissy!
I don't have to beat mine up, the dog does it for me...at least he did today...hubby fell backwards after the mutt got in his way. The problem was,
he fell into a corner where there was a small freezer w/ a microwave on top and I had my back to him at the time...thought he'd had a heart attack or something!
He was okay but a bit stunned for a while.
All this on top of being stuffed around by our medical system. I had two scans last Thursday, 1 x full body bone scan = 1 radioactive injection, 1 x scan of digestive
system = 2 x large bottles of barium sulfate beforehand. When I had canula removed and headed back to dressing room in knickers and their disposable gown, I felt
something wet on my left hand side...looked down to see blood everywhere! My left arm was just covered in it and the damn gown was NOT absorbent. I was standing
in the cubicle putting pressure on the canula site wondering what to do when I noticed the floor and walls around me had a new decor of red spots, even out in the
corridor. Whilst doing this, a lady tech came by and, noticing the new colour scheme, promptly ripped the curtain back, thus exposing me in all my one-boobed glory to
the world at large. After a few minutes this issue was dealt with and I left feeling slightly shaky.
Comes Friday morning, I get a phone call from a Dr? whose name I didn't catch and was told that the bone scan had revealed I should stop walking immediately as my
left hip was about to disintergrate and I would have to be in the hospital that day. He rang off after that saying he would ring back within three hours. When the shock
wore off, I realised I was going to miss my grandsons' third birthday, for which I had not even begun shopping, on Sunday, and that I had to wash the floors.
By the time I had my walking stick out and was moving around very carefully, the phone rang again...this time it was my Med Onc's sidekick (intern or Registrar?)
to say that she was going to make an app't for me at the Orthoepedic Clinic on Tuesday if that was all right . Naturally, I asked why as I would be in the hospital
already and, after I explained the earlier phone call, she was very surprised and said she would ring me back. She rang me back so fast, I barely had time to turn the
phone off...to say that there was no reason for me to go to the hospital today just be there on Tuesday to see the Ortho at the clinic...she would ring back with an
app't time before then. So....I waited all day for that first Dr to ring back so I could at least get his name for future reference to his superiors, but no...no call!
I had to go to my local hospital yesterday to get an X-ray of my right femur to add to one done two weeks ago of my left hip/pelvis area. After leaving DD at home to
write details of any phone call while I was gone, someone rang to say there was no app't time yet and they would ring back. I spent an hour this morning ringing the
hospital concerned trying to find out when this app't timeslot was and nobody knew anything. I don't know how often they have this clinic, it could be only monthly, so
it looks like I'll get my floors washed by then at this rate. Oh yes, I got to buy the grandson his birthday present and had fun at his party. Looks like I have used up
a years worth of belly-aching in one night, so I'll get off now, thanks to all of you who stayed this long to read my book.
Sheila.

OMG! Aussie! With all those phone calls it a wonder you dare take a step! Don't you just wish they would get their facts correct before scaring the hell out of you?! I'm so glad your DH is none the worse after his fall........falling over the dog can be hazardous to your health........lol.
Did you end up finding out when you appointment is or do you have to do the ring around again tomorrow?
Lol al everyone reading my post about beating my DH..........I think I will have to be a little more concise with my words.........lol.
Have a good night all and for all those who are sleeping hope you have sweet dreams.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Another one who read Chrissy's post the wrong way!! The sad thing is, when I thought she'd 'beat him up' I actually laughed.....lol. Glad to hear you just beat him out of bed Chrissy...:) I think I must have missed something....why are you replacing the crocheted hearts?
Jenn....I too wish you the best of luck in your job search xx
Sheila......what a terrible time you must have had but glad you still have your sense of humour!! I too had the bleeding from the cannula site issue some time ago.....but I had my gown on the whole time....thank god..lol!!!
Well, crappy wet n windy weather here in Perth & I have an appointment with my counsellor.....I hate driving in the bad weather....
Onc tomorrow......always a bit nerve wracking! Sometimes I think I must be a hypochondriac.....I'm scared shitless of getting brain mets (obviously!!!) & every time I go to see him I seem to have a 'head' issue!! I had a brain scan 6 weeks ago which was clear, & now I'm having some 'fuzzy' moments & my head seems to twitch.......sounds rather odd I know but the twitching is very mild. My body seems to be getting dizzy.....if that makes sense!! Maybe I just need my psych appointment to confirm I'm nuts.....lol.
All jokes aside i'm a bit wary about driving due to the fuzziness.....
Anyway, have a good day all.
(((Hugs)))

I too read it that you beat him up but knew, that even though you had just cause, you wouldn't really do it to your DH.
Karen, big big hugs and hope they get things sorted.
Hot hot day here in Oakville, still very warm and its after 8pm.
Have started a travel thread and will put some pictures on soon. Called Big Girls Panties on Tour http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/34/topic/810757?page=1#idx_1

Oh Aussie how crappy. I hope you get definite answers soon.
Karen please be careful driving. Strangely enough I felt wonky driving on tamoxifen. Now on arimidex I am just in agony lol.
Jenn wishing you good results for interview.
Ditto Chrissy about beating him up x0 -
Lol girls, you've got me all wrong!......lol......I'm really a gentle soul but I will admit I could have chosen my words better........hahahahaha!
Karen, DD has changed her mind on how she wants the back of her dress to look and the latte hearts are now wrong so I'm redoing them in ivory...........halfway there and hopefully by tonight they will be done but my fingers are a bit sore from holding the thread and the needle for so long........sigh!......I will recover and once this wedding is over I don't think I'll be doing any crochet for a while as I think I will have had enough!
Aly, I got the strangest visitors today.........someone knocked on my door and asked if I was a friend of yours. I was really puzzled to start with but when they said who they were, I was very surprised and very happy that they popped in. I guess you will know of whom I speak. We had a lovely if short visit as they were on their way through to Wilpennapound before heading down to Port Lincoln. I'll go check out your travel thread.......sounds like you are having a ball!
Karen hope you visit to your doc goes well and you get all the right answers.
Kylie, lovely to see you pop in.
Well, back to it!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Finally, the phone rang today and I was told I had an app't at the fracture clinic tomorrow at 10:30 am, so...we shall know one way or the other whether I get my hip 'nailed' as one scan tech called it, or not, by lunch time probably. DH is so worried, he has me packing a bag just in case they want to get started straight away.
Sheila.

Aussie let us know how you go. Tell hubby we are all sending cyber hugs to you also x

Hope you get some answers and solutions Aussie!
Jenn0 -
Sheila, hope the docs visit tomorrow is productive........if its surgery, don't panic, it not too bad and the recovery is pretty good too.
Keeping my fingers crossed for all things good!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Any news from Aussie?
My interview today was such a train wreck that it's almost funny... If I get offered that job it will be because I'm the best of a bad bunch... Ah well. It's all practice.
Jenn0 -
Hi girls...well I'm still at home, thank goodness, I was getting a real fear thing going on. DH didn't sleep last night for worry and had me paying the Telstra bill at midnight, in case the due date passed while I was in hospital. Took my bag and left it in the boot in case it wasn't needed though, I noticed the pre-admissions office door was open for business when we got inside.
Saw a young doc called Jodie, who told me I had a bad spot at the top of my left femur which, if I fall and fracture it, will cause me a lot of pain and discomfort for quite a while afterward and might not be able to be fixed. She said that they wanted to put a rod in the bone from hip to knee and then if I fell after that it would not be so nasty for me if it broke or fractured....and then asked if I was okay to come in tomorrow or the weekend for the operation.
Mind you, I could barely see the spot she was talking about on the monitor and asked why no-one had bothered with it before this. Over the last five years, I have had rads to right arm, cervical neck, ribs, right femur etc., have pointed out that the left hip/pelvis area was painful but have never had rads there...now all of a sudden this pops up.
It seems that it looked like arthritis to all who read the scans so no painkilling rads for it.
She then went off to get the 'Boss' who popped in and said to come back in three weeks! I have to have more scans before then and they will compare and set up a date for surgery So, I guess, I got a reprieve for now and I will have to walk very carefully till then and stay away from the dog.
That's it for a while girls so hope you're all on the upside of hope and joy in some aspect of life at least. I have a new (3rd) grandson arriving tomorrow and my heart is filling with that wonderous love that only a grandma can know.
Sheila.

Jenn haven't heard yet but if she's home she will probably post later.
Some interviews go like that and it's not always the fault of the person being interviewed. It's almost like you have to be an interview professional for them to go as smoothly as we would like........lol. Although, if you were a 'professional' that would mean you never got a job........think I'd rather have the train wrecks occasionally. Don't worry, there are more jobs out there that I'm sure you would do well at.
We have returned to winter.....BRRRRRR!!!!!....... I lit the fire tonight it was so cold and I haven't had a fire going for nearly two weeks! Sure hope this is just a hiccup in the weather pattern and we return to that lovely spring weather soon.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy0 -
I dont know whether to laugh or cry. We have had high winds this week, esp south, but i gues we are not the only ones, so suppose we can laugh, no not really. our masterton driver rolled the truck and trailer into a paddock, tuesday, he said, he got blown of the road by a cross wind, one of three trucks that day. there is freight all over the paddock, the fuel tank was dislodged from the truck, wonder it did not start a fire. we have a temping outfit down there picking up freight as the cops caught 2 guys trying to nick freight out of paddock, they has to leave it last two days as the wind too dangerous. i would send you a photo, but do not know how to post photos on here. i will try something and see if it works. Gees man, roll on november, when its mostly over. no more drivers. the trailer is a write off and all he said, was SHIT HAPPENS, my tooth is loose because of that, we have temp driver started today, who i hired. and did not think was going to go, but he turned up as the driver was going to take day off with tooth ache, so lukily the new guy driving the truck. so ended well there, helped for today and is probably doing monday as this other guy going to dentist. i would be going to weekend one, if that sore. i did. anyway better go and do dishes again.
If you look at little pic in corner, the stuff on the ground is the freight, you could probably see the trailer over turned and the truck ended up right, not too much structual damage. but its insides are injured. the trailer stuffed, lucky the driver got away with a loose tooth. i donot know how to make it bigger sorry,

hey jenn, you want to be truck driver, you would be better than we have ,and you know nz roads. lol just see you behind a truck steering wheel, with yr cool hair cut and shades, you would look pretty darn cool i reckon.lol. no interview. just straight into it. lol.
0 -
Haha. Thanks Annette. Yes, I do know NZ roads, which is exactly the reason why I wouldn't want to drive a truck ;-) Stupid caravans and tourists...
No word today on that job and they said they wanted to make a quick decision. No surprises that I haven't heard anything since I gave such a crap interview (after doing such good ones for that other position).
I'm sitting at home, wine in hand and pizza on its way. The rest of the weekend is going to be crammed full of university assignments and catch-up and a social do for our Rachael at our place on Sunday afternoon. Oh, and if there's rugby on tomorrow night I will be watching that since we don't really have a social life anymore.
We used to socialise a lot with 3 couples. 1 couple are still our very good friends and we see them almost every weekend. 1 couple moved to another city a few years ago, and the other couple dropped us when I got breast cancer...

Jenn, I hope you enjoyed the wine and pizza :-) Don't rule out the job just yet, they may just be busy...and at least you know who your friends are now....

Morning all from a now very cool Ontario - it should warm up a bit next week but it looks like 'Fall' is here. the last couple of days have been so so hot.
Hope you get news soon Jenn. I know what it is like waiting on replies from interviews. And I also know about friends as well and how they react to cancer. One couple, my DH's cousin and husband hardly contacted us the whole year I was in treatment, now i just can't be bothered making the effort. Our real friends are in Aus at present and they have skyped us every few days. They visited Chrissy as well because I talk so much about her my friend felt she knew her already.
Jenn I hope Rachel has a great social evening.
Chrissy did you realise that MA is a Presbyterian Minister. Like the Uniting church not the Australian Pressys.
Annette I can understand that November won't come soon enough for you.
Must get dressed so Dh and I can explore before we have to pick up the children. DD and DSiL are off to a wedding in the USA which is not really far so we are baby sitting.
Big hugs.
0 -
Jenn, I sure hope the news when it comes is all good. Enjoy your socialising over the weeken and I hope the 'do' for Rach goes well.
Aly I didn't know she was a Minister. I just found her absolutely lovely, she and R both! I'm so glad that they popped in to see me and thank you for the sort of intro........lol.
I have ten hearts left to do and seeing as how they take almost half an hour each I'd best get going to finish them as tomorrow I will be baking for my DDs hens afternoon tea. So much to do and so little time............thank goodness we don't plan weddings often!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
you are telling me Alyson. hubby is quite stressed, inside you want to yell and scream, but we have to end up saying well inside that truck was a life and that could of been taken, so you have to show the comapassionet, thats where i come in. hubby is still sore and cheesed off as he has to deal with the after math re insurance etc, BIl is oblivious and coming around to thinking, do we need any of this. we will let him deal with that, see what answer he comes up with. our phones have been hot all week, the thing is, that you pay these bloody insurance companys and do most of the organising yourself. i thought that insurance would organise stuff alot more. oh well, and they want you to keep insurance up to date and when it comes to pay out, finds every obstacle to not. well we are off down there to pick up last of debri this afternoon. thanks girls, sorry for all the moaning.
0 -
Annette moan as much as you like........it's much better shared than continuously rolling around in your head making you feel worse overall. I know the November can't come soon enough for both you and your DH.
Well it's just after midnight and I've just gotten home from the city. We had DD's Hens Afternoontea to day and oh did we have some fun! It was such a lovely day and her future MIL allowed us the use of her entertainment area for the event. I will get the computer fired up tomorrow and post some pics so you too can share some of the laughter of the day.
Right now I'm pretty wacked and need to put my weary body to bed. Oh, by the way, the hearts are all done and delivered to the dressmaker!.......yay!!!!!!
Love n hugs all! Chrissy0 -
Chrissy, weddings are a wonderful time and It sounds like you had a great day. Photos would be great. Congrats on completing the hearts!
Annette, roll on November.....0 -
We went down to see what was retrievable from wreckage, the wreacker had just picked up trailer, there was bags of bean seed ripped, we scooped up. and heaps of broken pallets that stayed there for rubbish.he took about fifty more metres of fence after trailer tipped. there were no brake marks on road, which showed he was going too fast for conditions, and showed why so much freight was strewn across the paddock. so yea roll on november.
well i had better do some serious house work and enjoy whats left of the weekend. you do the same.
