Chrissy.....you're a marvel, well done on the hearts & can't wait to see the pics.

So glad the hens night went well & a lot of fun was had by all....:) Look forward to those pics too.

Jenn.....sorry to hear the interview didn't go too well but as Chrissy said, it's all a learning experience - even at our age!! I must admit I don't think I could go through all that trying to sell yourself anymore.....good luck with next one....:)

Annette.....roll on November aye! It just never seem to stop for you guys & I think you're amazing the way you seem to just 'get on with it'......:)

Aly.....your holiday sounds wonderful & the time you are spending with your daughter & grand kiddies is so special....keep on enjoying...xx

Sheila.....I hope things are going ok for you & as I said I do love your sense of humour....(((hugs))))

All went well at the oncologist....tumour markers still low & scans in 5 weeks.

As far as all the issues I was concerned about.....well, I figured out I messed my medication up! The chemist gave me maxalon in a bottle that looked the same as my Diazapam bottle, which I have been taking every day since I was diagnosed with secondaries, so, I had been taking a maxalon every morning for 2 weeks instead of Diazapam & after about 5 days or so I started to get dizzy, wobbly, shaky, nauseous & couldn't sleep!! Of course all I could think of was it has spread to my brain but it seems it was withdrawals!!..... now as ditzy as it makes me sound I'm quite relieved to be a bit of 'dumb blonde'!!!! I actually got some sleep last night & hopefully will feel better in a couple of days.... My daughter said I shouldn't be let loose with pill bottles & I'm a 'nut job'......hmmm.....lol

My eldest daughter (the one NOT pregnant) has just bought a house & the current owners were kind enough to allow us all in to view.....it's a lovely house & when I look back at our first house, well, what can I say. Its so new, modern & spacious. She is very excited & I'm so happy for her.....another tick off the bucket list....:)

Anyway, I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend......crappy weather here in Perth, wet, windy & cold so baby knitting is on the agenda today....:)

    (((Hugs)))

Thanks Karen. its not such the big things like that that happen, like the truck crashing, its the llittle pricks not wanting to help when you need it and moan, you have to put  the foot down and say, well this is how it is going to happen, we want this driver to do the run that the crashed truck happen on to show the  new temp and then the temp will go with the other normal driver, but this driver, does not like that run, but my hubby cant do it as he has other issues to attend to and he has to do feilding. they moan and groan.  that is  the hard parts,  but he expects us to fill his car up with fuel from the bussiness as we have a card. but not willing  to do a favour for us, man. that is the hardest part, you almost have to bribe them.  Hubby said, when this other driver crashed the truck, the first thing he said to Hubby,  was, i think you better get a wrecker and the first thing Hubby said, was what the F---k have you done? oh i just rolled the truck and trailer.. anyway.

anyways glad you are getting low tumour markers Karen,  and the other things re pills, maxalon are the nausea one aye,  were only reason for you dizzy head.  Happy knitting. you have got good goals, that house sounds so nice of your daughters.

Thanks Karen, for your kind thoughts but all my woes pale with the arrival of my latest grandson on Friday.

In a weird twist of words my youngest son, in Melbourne, asked me how I felt when I texted pics and details on the day, I thought he meant my health so

I filled in my recent experiences and the likely outcomes.

Being a psychologist, he was asking how I felt about becoming a grandma again and, naturally, was shocked at my reply...got more than he bargained for.

On reflection, the only description I could give was that it felt physically like ones heart was overflowing with joy...as in my heart runneth over.

The exact opposite to the feeling we here all know so well when we get not so good news at times...I would say when they get a chemo tx that fills us up with a joy like that they will hit the jackpot! It is indescribable...and I wish you buckets of it when your day arrives.

    Sheila.

    Hello all!

Wow so much has been happening :-)

I'm now a qualified first aider again (although technically the last training I'd done hadn't run out) and up to date with the new stuff.

We had a wedding on the weekend, and I woke up on Saturday morning with an abscessed tooth.  It had been aching a bit the day before and I have my three monthly appointment with the dentist this coming Thursday so wasn't too stressed about it.  But on Saturday morning it roared out of my head - fully blown, swollen and very painful.  Can't photograph a wedding with that.  Fortunately for us I have made some good contacts with other professional photographers, so called one of them, and he did the wedding with my business partner while I slept the day away on painkillers and antibiotics.

Back at work today, and on with the mundane stuff.  Tooth is still a bit sore, but tolerable.

Karen - so glad to hear what your symptoms were, I was getting a bit worried about you - mixing up medication ... what can I say - except that's just the sort of thing I'd do.  If I were in your position I think I'd have to have someone put my pills in a segregated box so all I had to do was take that day (or that part of the day) - and then I'd probably have to have someone remind me to take them lol.

Aussie - I read your posts with horror, but glad you are coping and things seem on track and congratulations on the new arrival of a grandson :-)

Jenn - sorry to hear about your trainwreck interview.  I could relate, had one or two of those myself.  Keeping my fingers crossed that the other one comes through - have you heard whether they've managed to be able to create a position for you yet?

Chrissy - looking forward to seeing pics of all your hard and very clever work xoxo

Midnight - there's never a dull moment with you girl! lol

    I'd better run

    Love to you all

    Trish

    xoxo

well girls. its all official. notice in writing has been handed in following the verbal discussion last week, tonight the boys, (Drivers)  will be given  a contract, the new ones,  and will be given a fortnight to sign it, for two months. they will get  a little redundancy if they choose to stay on for period of two months or they miss out if they choose to move on.They have to be told individualy anyway. its very involved the processes now and you gotta do it properly as they can come back and bite you financially.

Trish, i can really empathise with you girl reg you tooth, its is so painful aye, i had that abcess on the that tooth, i had to have AB's before they would take it out. once it was out, it was amen, Hallilujah. what a relief. hope you ok, congrats on yr first aid too.  what is the CPR now, they change it alot, we used to 15 compressions to two breaths.bet that is gone now, a long time since i did it. we had to have manatory courses to work in rest home. any way better go and fling my ring into some work, have six month wof with my BS in the morning at nine. so its going t be a day out doing stuff.

Trish.....so sorry to hear about your tooth & hope it heals quickly! I have a dentist visit this week also, my back tooth broke when I was in Europe in May so when I came back I had it fixed...that was June. It has now broken again....do you think dentists give warranty....lol. And yes, the pill container does sound like a good idea.....some days I struggle to remember if I've even taken them...:)

Annette.....so glad all is winding down & you have a 'plan'....I hope the last 2 months are incident free!! How is hubby going?

Going pram shopping today with my grandchilds incubator.....lol

    Have a good day everyone.

Sheila, congratulations on the arrival of your grandson and the joy of a new baby

Trish and Karen, I do symphatise, I'm also spending time at the dentist after a break of a few years. I had a grumbly tooth while I was on holidays so when I got back I found a new dentist. I've now had 4 appointments with many to follow. I should have kept up those regular visits!

    Take care everyone

    Hi goils!!!

Congrats Aussie! Bundles of joy are the best for lifting one spirits! Enjoy the feel and smell of that little body as you cuddle......hopefully often!

Karen?.......well what can I say........hahahaha!.....yep that'll do. Although I shouldn't laugh at you with your pill mix up as I forget to take mine and wonder why I'm hurting.......lol. Talking about a pill holder......well I did buy myself one and it is great! Once a week I go through all my meds and put them in the appropriate place and then I just need to look and see if I have taken them or not. It's so much easier!!

Oo Trish! I can't say I've ever had an abscess but DH (yes he's back in the good books) used to often get them until I made him go to the dentist. DD1 also has had them but has now, as of last week, had the offending tooth removed. Did I say I'm terrified of the dentist? Thank goodness I have tough teeth!!!!

Annette good luck with the presenting of the new contracts to your drivers........at least this is the first sign that the end is near and you can start planning for yourselves at a slower pace.

I have not long woken up after a sixteen hour sleep!! Yep, I said 16! I must have been really wacked as I fell asleep in front of the tele about nine, woke about two, had a cup of tea and went to bed and woke at one this afternoon. I must admit I do feel a bit better but still in need more to get me back to where I need to be to get through the next two weeks. So much to do and as usual so little time. The kids are all coming up to to the final cleaning and organising push next weekend so at least I will have some help but they will be concentrating on the old station where the ceremony will be held than on home here but I will get one of them to clean my ceiling fans as I can't get up on a ladder.

Well, I'd best go start on my skirt and top or neither will be done and I'll be attending in my ninons!

    Have a great day all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Well its on here but on its side.  Let me know if you see it......if not I'll repost.

well one of the drivers has been told of his plight, it was explained to him that the  company we work for  want new trucks and we not prepared to do that as the runs are not econmomical enough to put new trucks on, we have had the pressure for ages to  get new trucks, there is only one that is young enough that they will  let use, also that our health is becoming an issue and that really the drivers themselves help us make the  final decision, we  feel we cant ask them to do anything without almost having to bribe them to do it. we get moan and groan and all the things that keep happening. its time to pull out and do other things for us. he was with us the longest, so he got told first. the others will tomorow. so part of it is coming to a close.

Sorry to say Karen, they have not decided on a name yet, but were leaning towards Cohen yesterday with Braxton a close second.

Most women are aware that those phantom labour pains are called Brax/ckston-Hicks contractions, so I hope they will re-think that one.

I did find words for the feeling we grands have for our grandkids, though it might be a bit too descriptive for some but here goes anyway...

you will recognise it once you feel it.... it is...........an Orgasm of the Heart!

It will idle along when you're away from them and rev up as soon as you get anywhere within reach of them and then explode when you get

    your arms around them.

Well my first attemp at posting this pic failed miserably and didn't show so I deleted it and here we go again.  My bride to be DD in all her toilet paper and butcher paper finery including toilet paper rose bouquet.

The girl in  the background absolutely cracking up is my other DD and the bridesmaid to be.

Annette, deep breath girl, once you are done with giving the bad news you are going to feel a whole lot better.

Aussie I did a bit of a giggle when I read the Braxton name and you are right but I'm sure not all will get the connection.....lol.   Oh I do love your description of the grandparent for the grandchild........an orgasm of the heart!!!!....It is oh so true and describes it perfectly!

Chrissy - that's a priceless photo :-)  Shows how much fun she's having, and I love the expression on DD2's face in the background.  Looks like a good time was had by all.

I laughed when I read how many hours you slept - you don't need me (and the others) to tell you to slow down lol your body is doing it for you!!  Take it easy girl xoxo

Aussie - I love your description, very well put :-)

Annette - one step at a time, and you've make the first few steps - look forward.

Everything going well here, busy, busy, but good.

    Take care everyone

Congrats Jenn, is it a better job?

Tooth is much better, thanks girls. Now I have another problem. I went back to the dr this afternoon, the "ovulation" type pain I've been getting for the past three months is getting worse. I had a blood test on Friday, and there are a few problems. My iron level is down to less than 1 normal levels are between 9 and 30. My liver readings are elevated and so are my calcium levels. I'll have to have a laparoscopy, but dr isn't sure whether to send me to a general surgeon or a gynie. The u/s I had a couple of months ago didn't show any cysts on the ovaries so he thinks a gynie might not want to see me.

He's worried the ILC may have gone to my ovaries or pelvis. I'm feeling remarkably calm about it all. I've had so many false alarms over the past 3 years this doesn't seem real somehow. If it is, then it is, if it's something else, that's good. I'll just be happy to get rid of this pain!

Jenn.....congratulations!! But shit you have to laugh....lol. Interesting the ones we think we're a shoe in for don't work out & vice versa! Good luck with your decision making.

Trish.....what can I say except stay calm & I'm sending big (((hugs)))....:) Hopefully it's just a gyno issue & very fixable....xxx When will you know?

Went pram shopping yesterday....my goodness things have changed since my kids were born!! We bought the pram that consists of the capsule that can go straight from pram to car, bassinet for the the first few months & the stroller bit for when bub is a it bigger. Also got the base for my car so the capsule can go in my car.....:) :) I remember when my kids were babies we just put the bassinet on the back seat of the car!!!! I hope I don't drive you all bonkers with my baby & baby shopping stories but as you may already have figured, I am VERY excited! All you grannies get it I know xxx

Having a visit from my leukaemia friend Kerry on Thursday, she wants to come see my nursery & tell me all about her 46th birthday celebrations she had on the weekend.....

I always look forward to seeing her but each time I do I can see her deteriorating......:(

Well back to my baby knitting.....:)

    Hi all

Congratulations Jenn , hope it's not too hard to make your mind up. I'd be out the door of my job as fast as I could go but I still feel frightened about leaving as I've been their nearly 5 years.

I got a message today from the hospital about my surgery date. Will have to ring back tomorrow and find out.

Aussie, here's hoping you get a quick date when you phone the hospital tomorrow!

Aussie, good news re getting a surgery date.

Trish, I hope you get this sorted out ASAP, the wait always seems worse to me than hearing the news whether good or bad.

OMG.....I'm nearly catching Chrissy, although not quite....slept just over 12 hours last night!! I woke at 10.00 this morning with the dog in my face...lol. I don't know why but I always feel guilty sleeping that late....but I think I may have finally caught up in all the sleep I didn't get last week when the meds were mixed up!! Just gonna take it easy at home today....

I have bloody conjunctivitis now....it was in the right eye, got a script for drops yesterday which I only put in my right eye & it's now spread to my left eye!! It's a weird feeling having your eyes stuck shut & they are very itchy....I want to rub them constantly which is prob what spread it to the left eye.... Oh well, I'm sure the drops will clear it in the next few days....

Chrissy....I can't wait to see your wedding outfit, it sounds lovely & has taken so much of your time....you must really enjoy your crafts. I enjoy knitting but my eyes aren't what they used to be!! I used to knit, sew, crochet, you name it I did it...lol. Oh to be young again.

Mum to be had her monthly check up yesterday....heart beat strong, good size, I reckon just perfect......:) xxx

Jenn....have you made your decision yet? You're probably losing sleep over it....

I hope it doesn't take too long to make the right decision.....in my humble opinion, if you have to think long & hard it's probably not the job for you....BUT you don't want to feel you made the wrong decision in 6 months time....that was very helpful...lol!!!

Aly....your pics on Facebook are lovely & it looks like a great time with your beautiful family....:)

Trish....still thinking of you & sending big warm (((((hugs))))) xxx

Well the day is half over but I hope everyone is having a good one.

Accepted the position today. Will give notice at work tomorrow. Decent pay rise too!

Also looks like we found a new house (actually an apartment). So doing all the inspection stuff.

Also my Mum is in hospital in NZ with an injured knee. Staff noticed she was struggling to "find" words so have done cognitive tests. She's falling pretty short in a number of areas so they are working on having her fully assessed. We are relieved she is being assessed because we were worried, but it's stressful trying to deal with it from here.

Oh. And. My underarm on the bc side is sort of stinging... Can't feel any lumps but of course you know what I'm thinking... Check up with onc is in 3 weeks...

Woohoo Jenn!!! Glad you can finally get a new start. Where is the apartment you are looking at?.......not that I would know.......lol....we are talking Sydney and I know nothing about Sydney. What made you want to move if you don't mind me asking?

Sure hope that your mum gets the support she needs after her assessment.......at least you will have peace of mind that she is being watched.

Are you sure your underarm pain is not just from nerve damage?

Thanks Racy! I think they are gorgeous but there again, I could be just a little bit biased.......lol.

Karen, I really do enjoy my craft but like you my eyes are making it hard so I invested in a very good bright light that I have directed straight at the work I'm doing and that makes a huge difference! I can just sit and watch tele as I find that really boring........lol.

Kylie I hope you got loads of kisses and cuddles in!

I have finally drafted the skirt pattern and will begin the process of cutting tomorrow.......I just have to work out where is going to be the best place to do that as my dining table is round! Not real good when you need a rectangle............lol.

    Hi all

Best of luck Jenn with the new job and the house hunting as well.

I've got my next surgery on the 1st October, only a week and a half away. It's at a different hospital than usual, I've got 3 weeks holiday from work so I'll see how I go with that. Hopefully the implant will be more comfortable than the expander.
