Oh hell Gail!!! A broncoscopy without sedation? you have got to be kidding!!! That truly was a cruel thing to do to you. That test has got to be one of the most uncomfortable and scary tests out there. Sure hope those steroids kick in quickly to give you some relief so you can feel a little less ordinary.
Mandy, it's about time you sat back and relaxed a little......I honestly don't know how you do it!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Gail - you poor, poor thing, that is such a cruel thing to do to a person. You would have thought they could at least have given you twilight sedation - so you didn't remember it!! I hope the steroids do their stuff quickly for you and you can feel a bit better.
Mandy - seriously!? You do way too much girl - have a good relaxing time over the next couple of weeks.
Karen - have been thinking of you - hope yesterday went ok for you, and you get no se's from E xoxoxo
Last day at work for me today, and another hot one. It's been really nice at home though - for the first time we have air conditioning, it's bliss!

Oh dang Annette........anyway, resting is a good thing, just ask me, I've been doing a lot of it lately.......lol.
I don't know if you girls remember a lass called Adelaidegirl? She posted on here when she had a BC scare I think it was early last year.........any way, I had a txt from her daugther today saying that she passed away four days ago. Apparently she had a melanoma a few years ago, was treated and seemed to be clear.........not so, it came back and none of the docs picked it up. Her DD said she knew something was amiss and they felt something was amiss as she was a little too bright of late.
Sorry for the sad news but I needed to share as I had been in touch with her late at night when she couldn't sleep........we would txt converse for ages but I hadn't heard from her for a few weeks and just thought she was busy with Christmas as we all are. I'm so glad her DD let me know but oh so sad at the same time.
Take care all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy thank you for sharing this with us and it was also very thoughtful of the daughter to let you know. I feel a bit sad that the doctors let her down, I know that we are all human, but even so.... I hope the daughter provides feedback to the doctors so that hopefully they can learn from that and be more diligent in the future. (((hugs)))
Cheers

Chrissy, that is very sad. very sorry and right on Christmas too, she will have a lovely christmas in Heaven, but the poor DD and family are going to greatly miss her, flaming cancer. i read of a girl, 23 who suddenly developed a gut ache and it got so bad she went to get it checked out and it was ovairan cancer and the tumour was as big as a rock melon and they took it out, but it tested as a grade 3, stage 3 terminal cancer and she was gone in 12 days. so i am counting my blessings i am still here 3 years after dx with BC. that ovairan cancer is a real sneaker up cancer, by the time you are DX, its nearly over for you, i know BC can be like that too. anyway change the subject, i am getting depressed. and i don;'t want to depress others, its just making a statement really, sorry.
yesterday we did the sharing of sheep, started at 8am and finished at nine last night. they all done, was an out side job, had our two farm boys on the job, i observed most of it, the shearer wanted to complete the whole lot, did 34 at the farm and 102 and the other place we have leased., and then it turned cold. the wind was very cold and i felt sorry for them, loosing their coat, but when it is hot, they will be pleased, they all going to sale in new year or works, we trying to go completely away from sheep, they too much work and none of us are that robust, i get a sore ribs and back just standing for half an hour and it cost as the shearer drenches them with his stuff after each sheep done, hubby was panicking about our drench running out and forgettting to get it, as the other shearer dont do that, we have to drench them after, but this one does it as he shares them and he has the dog who musters them and the yards, as there aint any at the leased place. so a job all done, just have to pay him now, twelve hundred and 51 bucks and the wages of the farm boys, so an expensive day. the other shearer is cheaper, but he is older and would do them over two days and we have to do alot after, this guy is completes the whole thing and has the amenities and teaches the farm boys how to handle the sheep and laughs at them when they put a glove on, GET YR HANDS DIRTY BOY< you can always wash them. its funny, one was an indian and the south korean, they very loyal and good workers and have tenacity too.
hope you have a good day, i have written you an essay, sorry lol

Oh Chrissy....so sorry to hear of your friend. It always knocks us for 6 when we lose someone. I hope you're doing ok (((hugs)))
Gail...that's just awful what you've been through! I hope the steroids have kicked in....sending love & thinking of you xx
Chemo went well......needed a steroid the day after as I couldn't get out of bed, it did the job though. Yesterday I felt quite tired & took 2 sleepers last night & slept for 12 & a half hours!! Gotta do what you need to to get through. Today I feel achey all over & very tired....even after all that sleep last night, so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day & I'll be good to go for Xmas....:)
I have the pressies all wrapped & my bag packed to head off on Xmas eve & the family is very much looking forward to it all.....& that's what it's all about. Hoping to make it a very special time with beautiful, fun memories for my hubby & babies.
I hope everyone else is ready for the big day.
(((Hugs)))

Hi all,
Still very hectic in my life and trying to rationalise so am not online much right now.
The good news is that after 2 years of insomnia I now seem to be catching up on sleep. Right from the first night in our apartment I am now sleeping through, or if i do wake I go back to sleep quite quickly. Not sure if the melatonin I ordered during our weekend away is helping but I have been taking it.
With this new oncologist and me being on a trial for early stage bc I have a whole bunch of annual assessments lined up for the 3rd January - CT, bone scan, ultrasound. They also booked me a mammogram but after checking with my plastic surgeon, I phoned and pointed out these breasts are reconstructed and my surgeon prefers they not be smooshed :-)
I am still working up until tomorrow afternoon so hope you all have a lovely Christmas with family and friends.
Love Jenn

Hi all
I hope that everyone has a great Christmas with family and friends.
I have to work Boxing Day at 6am so even Christmas night won't be a late one, but as I'm putting the tickets up for the Christmas stock which goes to 50% off I may get some bargains. LOL.
(Christmas) Carol ,Ha Ha

Hi ladies, hope everybody is having a super day, i am just cooking for hubby and me and we are having roast pork, roast kumera and spuds, savoury eggs, brocoli, salad. and for pudding, i have made ambrosia, and fruit and anything he feels like. ther is only so much a person can eat without feeling miserable. lol BIL is having his own party with himself, he wanted it that way, great little shopping list he had for us to do, chips in dip, pizzas, christmas plum puddng, custard, ice cream. he has the works. i offered him a roast even if he wanted to eat it at home by himself. but he said, he will be fine with his food. so oh well, he is a loner, and hubby and i need together time to and BiL loves chatting on about present and past problems and future ones that may happen and may not and you get an ear ache and then starts to delegate jobs, hubby needs unwinding. he has gone to feed pigs which is good as he keeps out of my hair while i am trying to cook. must go and enjoy your day. xxxxx ooooo xxxxx

i will take it for granted that everybody has enjoyed their christmas festivities and enjoyed every bit and not to uncomfortable in the tummys. we enjoyed our pork roast, Ron has 6 halves of roast spuds and a huge dinner for him, he wanted a second helping of ambrosia, but i said, no, he will suffer with a gut ache with too much cream as he has an intolrance toeating too much dairy, products esp in one heap which for him is not worth it, i refrained from eating the crackle as i know i get a burning gut from that and that is not worth it, i told myself, that for two minutes i will enjoy it and then it will be murder on my esophegus, its a burning pain that i get after eating fatty food, plus the diabetes dont like it. so i had a good night sleep, we went for a walk between the dinner and dessert and took Goldie the dog, she loved the run. so had a good day, i am going to do the dishes now, i have them all nice and stacked, just ready ro do. Ron gone to farm to feed pigs and others. the horses feet are getting done tomorrow by the farrier, he has a mate that helps him, we have five donkeys and six mini horses. getting done. anyway hope you are all ok,
Karen, hope you a had a wonderful day and feeling ok.
Tra for now.
