Hi girls! I have not been on this thread for a long time, but wanted you to know I am thinking of you! We had such awesome trips to both Australia and to New Zealand, in the past. But what also made me think of you all, is that my cousin in Sydney called us (we were out) and left a nice message on the answering machine, and I just loved hearing her accent! SO I just wanted to say hi, and I hope you are all doing well. I have not read the thread, so do not know what is going on with you all, but I hope things are looking up. Big Upside Down Hugs (oops, I mean "down under" hugs!!!)....Kathy

Merry christmas to you Kathy, i do hope you had an awesome day. This thread is pretty quiet at the moment while everybody is enjoying their chrstmas festivities and a break, i just pop in every so often to see if there is any action in here, but everybody is still obviously enjoying them selves which is great. i saw you in here and thought i would say hi. i been to hawaii and stayed at one of the outrigger hotels, out rigger surf i think and we went to the outrigger west i think and met Tom selleck and old higgins from magnum PI. nearly got my self killed, forgot about the oposite side of the road thing and stepped out and nearly got bowled, lucky they going slow, stopped in time,

well we got the  feet of the donkeys done yesterday and minni horses, another job done,  six minis and five donkeys. but would say next year, chrissy could foal,  (chrissy the donkey) they take a year. and chrissy was a christmas donkey and if she is with child now after yesterdays goings on,  old joe having his feet trimmed must of made him frisky, lol. good for  pases by as the  paddock is on road side, they probably get used to it with the alpacas doing there. bussines out there.  Joe is only male  that is capable, there are three jennys. so he gets all the fun. Salt  is weathered. the mini horses is only one mare and three stalions. so she can choose. they all happy their feet done. we hope to get some off springs.

hope everybody is ok. and hving a good rest.

Hi Midnight, Glad you went to HI, guessing it was awhile ago, since you met Tom Selleck. It sure has changed...the "International Marketplace" in Waikiki used to be awesome, and we would listen to bands there at night too, but then it changed and its just all small asian kiosks now...not anything hawaiian. I know, I had to be pulled back onto the "island" between the many lanes of traffic in Hong Kong, as I had looked for traffic in the wrong direction, also. Scary, isn't it! Glad my DH was right there and pulled me back! Good luck with your animals!

    Hello to all!

Yes, Christmas is over and DH and I are having a wonderful relaxing time at Mount Tamborine in The Gold Coast hinterland.  I haven't been sleeping well and felt very tired last night - our first night.  We went to bed early and then the frogs started...a wonderful chorus but very, very loud and I wondered how I would get to sleep....but I did....10 hours, the best, deepest sleep I've had in a long time...I'm hoping to do to again tonight Smile

We have two more nights and then back to Sydney for a quite New Years Eve.

    Hi all

I had a good Christmas lunch with my family and am glad it's all over for another year. They need to make Christmas only every 2 years so that we all get a break, LOL.

I worked Boxing Day and Friday and today so haven't had much of a break. Boxing Day was extra pay so that will be good. I'm told at work that I've got 20 hours of time owing to me so I will sort out some time off soon. I need to go shopping and get some new shoes and a new bag.

Hope that everyone has a great New Year.

    Carol

Tammy, did you get a good sleep again last night?

lol Carol. Christmas is way too often, all we do is eat too much and feel miserable as we are too full, so every two years is a good idea. hope you get some nice shopping, bag etc.

Hi girls!  Finally getting back to normal.....yay!!!!!  I must have the weirdest family out as none of us pigout at Christmas dinner..........apparently I taught them well that the day is much more enjoyable if you aren't stuffed........lol.........don't get me wrong, we eat plenty but not to the point of being uncomfortable.

Well only one GS left and I take him home tomorrow........we have just chilled and chatted which is nice but I will be glad to get back to my normal routine.......if there ever was one......lol.

Tammy frogs are the best for singing you to sleep......love it!  Hope you continue to sleep well.

Trish how are you feeling and when do you get those scans done?

Annette I though you and DH were finished with the transport stuff?

Aussie extra cash is always a good thing.....did you find that new bag and shoes?

Mandy you still running around like a chook with it's head cut off?

Karen hope you are feeling well and the chemo is doing good things for you.......not long now and the bump will be here!

Jenn, hope all is going swimmingly for you in the new house and you are enjoying your time off.

Linda hope the shop is busy but not overwhelming.......having good sales is a good thing but not being run off your feet.

Aly hoping all is well with you.

Oh my goodness......I know I've missed some one but honestly it's not on purpose.......lol.....hoping all have a Happy New Year and everyone stays safe.  Surely 2014 will be a better year for all of us.

Hi girls.......thought I'd post a few pics of me & my family on Xmas day (now that I know how....lol)

Glad everyone had a lovely time although tiring. It sure is a big day with an even bigger build up!!

We had quite a relaxing few days down south, we had 2 lovely villas on the beach, went to a Winery & brewery, had a beautiful Xmas lunch at the resort & just spent special family time together. Like everyone else though, I am very tired...... Once I get all unpacked & the house back in order I think I'll be sitting back with my feet up.....get me some energy back before my next chemo on Thursday.

Best wishes to all you wonderful ladies, I truly have appreciated having all of your here to 'listen' to me & more importantly offer very helpful advice & so much love & support. Take care my beautiful 'cyber' friends.Smile

    (((Hugs)))

We have finished with it, but Bil  has to finish his contract, but we have no drivers, hubby does not go into depo  except to get BIl off in the morning by helping to load his truck, and that is it and when xmas is over he wont have to do that much, he is mainly farming now,  we have to go thru a process with ird to de- register the drivers side of it,  at the end of the financial year, we are going to put the company into voluntry liquidation and  BIl will carry on til his contact is finished, to keep an income coming in, under his pesronal name, as far as me and hubby are concerned, we are finished with  the transport side, so he (BIL) have only the one run, not five. once the company is closed, we wont have any of it, hubby will be farm only and also no GST or paye, just having the serves( drivers) gone, has made a huge difference, we have the farm helper only that feeds the animals and does odd jobs and when hubby has his op, he will do more, hubby has to show him, which is why the horses had their feet done and the sheep got shawn, so it would free things up and sheep will be going to sale soon as they open again. so yes we have finished,  the other contract finishes in july of BIL. so we are winding up the legal side of things, don't want to piss IRD Tax people off, they are a pain as it is, you get that much paper work from them. we do alot on line now. its good having BIL out  on the truck,  he is a pain been around you all day, so we get a break from him too. lol. we have to have an income though, the truxks wil get sold in time and the proceeds will help pay mechanic off for his sevices,

Karen, the pics are lovely, you look good, but yes you will be weary.  glad you had a lovely time with your family and they all look very happy.

am going to do a wash soon, down at laundry, dirty muddy wet clothes, thats the farm for you..  hubby said,  a van load of japanese tourist were lined up at the fence taking photos of tha alpacas and  donkeys.  and pointing at them,  and they  the alpacas are nosey animals and go over to them, there are two babies, (crears),  and they are so cute. baby alpacas. Next year hope to have a baby donkey if Chrissy)(the donkey foals) and  nelly as well,. we get alot of people who stop and look at the animals and take  pictures. but glad we have high fences up as they could climb over.

    Hi all and Wahine,

I lived for a while in Hawaii back in the late 80's! Shared a house over in Kailua (Oahu). My flatmate from back then now owns a house around the corner in Lanikai just diwn the road from the golf club. At this time of year he has his ID checked to get home because the Obamas holiday house is just down the road. I worked out at the airport for a rental car company and the girls from work and I used to hang out at Peco's a country and western bar on Friday nights :-)

Christmas here has been relaxing and we are very much enjoying apartment living.

    regards Jenn

that is great Tammy, glad you getting some good nights in, yes maybe you should get a tape of them, are you still there tonight.?

jenn , i would love to visit Hawaii again, i really did enjoy it, only part i did not enjoy was the pearl harbour cruise as it turned rough and tho i was not sea sick, i was  feeling pretty rotten and i went home from that, went to bed, that was from 6pm til about 8 next morning and had a towel and face cloth, should i get to that stage, i was very wobbly on my pins to get to loo. i was not feeling very good, and several others were like me. the waves were very rough. i actually heard they abbandoned the harbour cruise hour or so early, i was feeling too sick to listen at the time, i was off there, on to the bus and into bed when i got back to my hotel. it was about 5.30pm. it took a couple of days for head to come right and then it  was time to depart hawaii..

Trish, how are you and how did the christmas break dinner go.  Did  Beau and Finn get Christmas dinner, ours got pork and chicken,  i think they enjoyed it and some ice cream and custard.  not the ambrosia tho. lol,  my hubby saw me making it and said, well thats my desert taken care of, what are you having? lol,  hope you well.

Just got back to this thread. Jenn....what a SMALL world! My dad lived in Lanikai for years, for over 40 yrs, till we sold his house last year so I could move them here. He is 97, my mom is 93. He never lived anywhere else, born in Hilo, and never left HI till last year. HE still regrets selling his home there, it sold in 1 day. He was a member of that Country Club for over 40 yrs too, as the Rotary met there, and he had been Rotary District Governor. My parents just got back a couple of wks ago, stayed 7 wks in HI at the other side of the island, but the fishing club in Lanikai had a big party for him there. ITs more a social club, not many fisherman left in it, but they do throw good parties!!! Love the Mokulua Islands, aren't they beautiful! Mygreat-great-grandpa invented the ukulele, on my mothers side. Amazing you lived in in Kailua and your friend lives in Lanikai!!!! That is the most beautiful beach. I just got tickets for them to return in mid January as he is being honored at a big event, for the state legislature anniversary (he is prolly the oldest former legislator that is still living!).

Went to Melbourne for the Boxing Day sales (never again) ended up going to the block arcade for a coffee. It was built in 1860's and called the block because the ladies used to parade around the block to show  their dresses off
