lol Chrissy, i guess hubby would of got the  old whoo hoo, i dont  think so, look, like does this guy know what he is talking about, 15 sheep in that. lol. yes and that would of been a good story for many years to come.

i will tell you another story, but this is more of a farm joke.lol   a little rude, but funny.

An old farmer decided to go to  the movies and everywhere he went, he would take his old rooster that would sit on his head, he went to  the ticket counter and  the ticket lady said,  I am sorry sir, but you cannot take livetock into the theater. you will need to take it home and come back.

the old farmer slips into the men"s loos and stuffs the rooster down his pants and goes and gets the ticket and  goes into the movie. he seats himself down by two old dames and the movies starts.

part way during the movie, the rooter gets restless, so the old farmer open his front and lets it hang its head out, the old dame next to him, says,to the other one,

HEY, I THINK THAT OLD GUY NEXT TO ME IS A PERVERT. AND THE OTHER ONE SAYS., WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT?

HE HAS OPENED HIS FLY AND ITS ALL HANGING OUT,

OH DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT, THE OTHER SAID, WE HAVE BEEN THERE, SEEN IT ALL.  AND THE REPLY WAS

Yes i know,  BUT THIS ONE IS EATING MY POP CORN

    Hi Girls

Sorry I've not been on here over the past few days - been having a lovely time with my BFF in Wollongong.  So much sad news on here now though. I was hoping 2014 would be a good year for us.

Karen, sweetie - you are constantly in my thoughts (as are all you stage IV girls) I'm hoping that you will find the strength to cope with whatever is thrown your way - I know you will, you don't have a choice, but all of us here would love to take some of your load for you and make it easier, somehow, for you (((hugs))))

Chrissy - also thinking of you - I hope that you get that lump sorted, and I'm hoping it isn't bc related, I'm an optimist, so keeping everything crossed for you xoxo

Australia - sending you ((((hugs)))) too - this thread is for all of us in this little part of the world. I don't have a problem with you stage IV girls being here and feel honoured that you all share your hopes and dreams with us as well as letting us try to help you through this f***ing disease the best we can by supporting and caring for you.

Aly - I'm so sorry to hear your news too ((((hugs))))

Mandy - you going ok? Are the girls enjoying that tea set? xoxo

I did have a lovely time with my BFF, she's been my rock (along with my DH) through my "journey" for the past three years. It's lovely to just sit and chat with her. We've known each other for so long (43 years now) we think alike and fit together like a glove. Although she hasn't had bc she's been through every step with me.

Now I'm home, and after having two lovely weeks off, have to go back to work tomorrow, and I really don't feel like it, but guess I'd better go so the bills can get paid lol.

My love to all you lovely ladies.

    Trish

Oh YUMMMM!  Those fish are delicious!!  I think we have had them here from time to time is some stores and I always used to get some when they were available........mmmm.....what a shame there are none available now!

Karen so glad you are feeling a bit better about everything.......always know that we walk beside you on this journey, ready to offer what ever you need.  Hope you enjoyed your lunch with the 'kids'.

Aly I laughed my head off at the pics of the sheep!  The only difference with the sheep is, the ones DH was driving with were Border Leicester and had dark wool and blue eyes.....they really were weird looking!

Hope you are all enjoying what's left of the weekend!

Belated happy Christmas and New Year to everyone.  We have just got home from a fairly dreadful camping holiday and I am exhausted and start work tomorrow. :(

Trying to catch up with everyone's news. Sending lots of hugs.  Welcome Racovina.

I don't believe there is some 'line in the sand' to divide us by stage. I feel privileged that we are able to share and hope that I give a little comfort and joy to others also. X

hi ladies and a happy new year to you all!! Hope your year has started of ok. Karen so sorry to hear you aren't doing well and the cancer is spreading. So far so good for me this year. Had a good Xmas and New Years. Hoping that with the new year more chance of people hiring so I can get some work. Going to see my surgeon for a checkup in march. I will have been on the waiting list for six months for reconstruction so hopefully he should be able to tell me a more definite time when I will be having my first surgery!!

Kylie what went wrong with the camping?  Its awful when you need a holiday to get over a holiday.  Mel good luck with the recon date.

Now I feel like chocolate!  Tammy, I think you are using the scales wrong, this way works for me.

Lol Rak.........I been weighing myself like that for years!  Only problem is my clothes have shrunk!!!!

Hi Rak, I'm one of the Kiwis who spend time here, anyway half of the so called Aussies are actually Kiwis.

Chris, those pesky elves get in to your wardrobe and sew extra seams in clothes at night. And just by leaving things hanging for a season means that they shrink!!!

Feeling a bit brighter now just so sad for DS and DDiL. Luckily they have such a wonderful specialist who really cares and cried with them but who is also quite matter of a fact in that she told them that this was probably for the best not to worry about future pregnancies. I was fine yesterday until she gave DH and me a big hug in church.

DH has gone off to Napier for work this morning so the place is my own. Will start doing some of my patchwork I think.

    Need my cup of tea.

    Big hugs

    Hello girls

Back at work today, and I think by this afternoon will feel that I haven't been on holidays at all lol.

Rakovina, thank you for the education - I've been doing it wrong all these years!!  Will have to weigh myself properly this afternoon and see what my real weight is lol.  Aly - I didn't realise about the elves either - will have to lay some traps in my wardrobe lol.

Karen - thinking of you today - and remember we are all there with you holding your hand xoxo

I guess I'd better go and actually do some work now that I'm here Shocked

Sending good vibes and lots of hope to everyone doing it tough.

I'm coping well with Abraxane, liver enzymes and tumour markers are down, will get scanned on 28/1 to see if the liver mets have reduced. My good news from NYE Onc visit was that my 14 year old and I can still take our planned trip to NZ from 13/1 to 26/1, during my week off from chemo. Had to delay departure by 2 days but so happy we can go, it will be a special trip for us, he has been so caring, even coming to chemo with me and keeping me laughing. My 18 year old has university enrolment and work, plus the fun of having our apartment to himself for the first time!

lol maybe we put chocolate fish on our menu for December weekend.  Hubby is having his operation next tuesday for that bussiness. will be good for him to get it done.  mine will be coming up soon to, not sure when, feb i think, sometime. Bil is all worried how things will function while hubby is laid up,  he wont be allowed to do farm, work for at least two weeks, but we have a farm boy, who will be quite capable in feeding the animals and  what he can't do, BIl will have to do, thats the part he hates, WORK, butf if hubby  does anything, it will create all sorts of problems.  we have told the doctors and they may keep him in for a day or two, so that he is forced to rest and his brother does not put the hard word on him, and make him feel bad. as already its, oh how will this get done and  that wont get done and that is when it needs to be getting done, all that already. so  sister in law will be ringing him soon and telling him to shut the hole in his face.  yea me. he drives me up the wall. Its all about him, sorry girls, having a vent here, or i will get really pissed off in myself. my mum told me to stand firm and put my foot down good and hard.

Karen, am with you girl. big hugs xxxx

lol Rakovina i would never be able to get in that position on the floor and i would certainly never be able to get up from that position on the floor lol.

Fitzy, lovely photo of you and your boy, what a lovely boy he is, so supportive. big hugs

Carol, how is your mum doing, any improovment in her condition?

So I've been quiet... Been in pain in my shoulder, neck and base of my skull and was worried. Had my bone scan, CT scan and ultrasound last Friday and my appt with the onc this afternoon. Walked out feeling pretty crap about the outcomes...

    1. Last year's ultrasound and CT scan both showed a round "thing" along my scarline inside my reconstructed breast. Last year the radiologist said "fat necrosis". Radiologist this year has said "may be fat necrosis, but best biopsy". So on Wednesday I have an ultrasound guided biopsy scheduled. :-/

    2. My neck and base of my skull has been hurting and its getting worse to the point that it's making me nauseous and grumpy and depressed. MO thinks it's degenerative changes and has ordered a CT specifically on my neck tomorrow afternoon to confirm since that area was not covered by the CT done last week.

    3. Bone scan results - says "CT scan shows there is a lesion in the left side of L1. This may be a metastasis. Small foci of lucency are present in T8. These are not apparent on bone scan. The L1 lesion was visible on previous study (July 2013) but appeared to be smaller"... "Bony lesions are present. However, these are not present on bone scan and are therefore not active. No evidence of metastatic disease." - WHAT am I supposed to make of that????? Both sites mentioned are places I have been getting on and off pain :-( MO says not concerned "at this point".

All in all I walked away feeling very pessimistic about all this :-( Not a great start to the year for many of us...
